And since that guess was clearly messed up by the fact coder misheard the rules.

Maybe for a season 2 if he does one? With also a potential clause of if you can figure it out in less than 10 questions you get an extra 10 for every question not used

They have somewhat of an obligation to make the video entertaining. They could prepare and study just ask all the right questions off the bat and get it right on the first guess, but thats unfair to Cimo who was kind enough to ask them to be on the show as well as his audience who comes in expecting fresh content with every video. Its allot more fun to just go in blind and ask the questions you think are correct then get the answer yourself rather than everyone ask "Is it a monster?" "Is it level 4 or lower?" "Was it released before 2010?"

Better to be going from those early hits to Is it an Earth? Is it Level 4? Asking about what kind of effect it had is quite varied and only really on track for a last question when you know. Asking for Archetype membership and 1000 or lower Atk are good questions imo.
In fairness to Coder, if you play perfectly with the 10 questions (mathematically to optimize final guess-chance, disregarding metagaming) and so cut the card pool in half every single time, you will have 11 cards left over at the end (~11.43* on average). In order to win this game, you need to get at least one x = 0.5, as was stated (don't worry if the notation is unfamiliar). (minor edits)
@@delta3244 I was just joking about the fact he misremembered about the trigger effect and tunneled on Armadillo xD I have tried the game before too, and saw that mathematics barely help you beyond a certain point. The only way to win is via human factor : try to get inside the host's head, what he could have chosen, for what reason. That makes it way harder when you play with someone you're not close to, but Cimo's guests all know him, and he picks cards related to them or almost.
When coder became convinced it was gem-armadillo I remembered that Alex had said it didn’t have an on-summon effect but he was so confident abt it so consistently that he successfully gaslit me by accident into thinking alex had said it DID have an on-summon effect that at 14:40 when he realized it too I came full circle on the emotional reaction. I feel like I’m going insane
I love how each guest have their own spin on the question they ask. Gage ask tournament related stuff, Ruxin ask about card rarity, MBT ask "MBT" question and Coder who have exp before just got tunneled in the latter half.
The smart question he asked was the normal Summoned question wich if he was thinking more logically that alone would narrow down a lot. Then asking three attributes is a good one. Then asking years of release was good. But what what screwed him was he asked too many effect related questions tunneled himself on personal history with Alex and then asked if he is known to play the card. That screwed him. So yah I'd say two questions where really smart and the rest where wasted completely.
thought about this for a while and figured out that he safest way to ask the attribute question without any prior info might be to ask if it's dark or earth since these attributes alone make slightly more than half of the monster card pool
This series really shows how varied and diverse the yugi-tubing space is. Every guest has had a really different approach to the questions which portrayed their own niche: Ruxin focused on release dates and rarities Coder focused on technical effects MBT went for risky hail-maries "because it was funny" Gage fumbled it before finding success
Random suggestion for a funny addition to this series. Make the player guess any random card for free before they even begin asking questions, just to see how obscure or funny their card picks are. If they get it wrong it doesn't hurt them, but it can add something funny to the whole experience for both the audience and the player/Cimo.
I think asking odd/even level is also good question. Like after you confirmed, this card can be normal summoned without tributing, got you lvl 1-4 then if the level is not odd, so lvl 2 & 4 are the remaining option.
I love how each person has had their own way of narrowing down the pool of cards. Find it interesting and amusing though whenever you see them come up with interesting questions although I'm surprised no one has tried using a combination of things to narrow down more with single questions that require multiple criteria be met while eliminating a lot more if it doesn't meet those criteria. Coder asking about the normal summon was a solid start to something like that though.
Do hope that Cimo does Spell/traps next time. I really REALLY wanna see someone go crazy and waste questions when they ask a greedy question like "Is it an effect monster" or "Is it a maindeck monster?". Plus seeing different and more circumstantial questions would be cool since theres less things to identify spell/traps with.
Love this show. Aside from Progression Series and Auction Series (I really miss that one), this is my favorite series to watch (oh, and Jank is funny too).
his questions were interesting! i really like the double/triple attribute idea since it cuts out tons of monsters up front if its yes and if its a no you can just ask if the card is a monster next to cover your bases, also really like the can it be normal summoned/set without tribute as a follow up since if no you can just ask if its an extra deck card after. i think for future year questions people should use 2008 (synchro), 2011 (xyz), or 2017(link) as the filter since they either cut card pools or cut off entire extra deck options. 2008 is probably best if its not an extra monster since you know up front its DM/GX or not (if you know its an extra deck monster then it probably makes more sense to do 2011 or 2017 to limit options more)
That's likely because if it's a spell there are a lot less things you can ask. Spells can be almost impossible. There is a yugioh wordle thing that functions a lot like this, and if you choose spell mode it's insanely difficult. If it's a monster it is way more manageable

As a quick follow up to my last comment a really great way to cut down the number of cards would be using set abbreviations making sure to exclude the EN part of it. Wheel of Fortune style for the first 2-3 questions. You would be surprised how much that alone would cout out. Though it works require getting a list of them and putting them un alphabetical order. Example: Does it start between A-L or does the second letter a valve.
I think the logic here is that ninja cards have never been viable enough to be considered an archetype, or that when the card was released archetypes were not a thing
While this is true, Ninja didn't become a real archetype until much later, and none of the early ninja cards really work with how the deck plays. Strike Ninja is a member by name but I wouldn't *really* consider him part of the archetype.
Some of these guesses have felt like asspulls, or Cimoo throwing a correct answer out of pity. I think it feels that way because we, the audience, don't actually know what the card is, so the participant can guess literally anything and Cimo can just say yes or no whenever he feels like it and no one can check if the guess was in fact correct. I think the simple solution to this would be to let us, the audience, know what the card they are trying to figure out is at the start of the video. Just my two cents on this cuz it's been bothering me.

As far as I can tell, Strike Ninja was not part of an archetype until it was basically inserted into the "Ninja" archetype later.
While this is true, Ninja didn't become a real archetype until much later, and none of the early ninja cards really work with how the deck plays.
