Residents of villages in E Cape's OR Tambo District bemoan lack of clean water, housing

Residents of Port St Johns in the Eastern Cape have bemoaned the lack of service delivery from the OR Tambo District Municipality.
Residents of the Manaleni, Nyazi, Nkweza and Mdeni villages say they have been without clean drinking water since 2005. They've been using springs and rivers as water sources for nineteen years.
A lack of housing also affects impoverished families.
In some cases, up to ten family members live in one-room mud structures, while others have only been left with concrete slabs.

It does not make sense that Estern Cape is the poorest province in South Africa. Lowest on human idevelopment index 😢. Before democracy we Limpopo people were miserable poor and they and North West were doing better. Today Limpopo is 3rd on human development. Why did they not develop. I love EC
