Dharm is an overworked word which obscificates the analysis that is needed. Temple cities developed and enriched under the protection of Kings. This was not unlike the roles churches performed as the treasury and an aspect of government which was shared with the King's in the UK. The wealth of the churches were liquidated by Henry VIII to fund the transformation of the UK as a modern state. The temple towns with the university towns are today part of the ecosystem that plays important economic roles. The transformative power of the church dominated economy long ago ceased to be important. The considerable wealth locked up in Hindu temples can be better applied for India's economic advancement rather than provide the succour to Christians and Muslims parties who manage to lay their hands on them for their own advancements.

This is satire, right? A temple simply doesn't have the kind of resources a university has. Any donated money in a temple only looks a lot because it's not spent. Once it gets spent, it will be gone within 5 years. A temple can be a place of spiritual healing, a safe space for everyone who needs it. A university is an investment with multiple goals in mind. Lets focus on making indian universities capable on par with their counterparts in USA. How can you compare an American university with a temple when universities in india already exist.

Temples, Monasteries and religions themselves were largely in union with the state and economy upto the years leading to the Victorian Era and beyond in most parts of Eurasia. The author should take a note of how history used to work

Only Pappu is good enough to write that book.
I think he should try. Politics as a career doesn't seem to be working for him any way 😅

-India- Bhaarat needs its own Economy System, Political System and Legal System. Yes, we were colonized for 2 Centuries by Britsh and we have copied many of their ideas like Capitalism, Democracy and Secularism. But these ideas need not be replicated as is.. We can modify them, suitable to -Indian- Bharatiya temperment and society.
Of course while creating these systems, We should not be prejudiced and stick to obsolete ideas. We should take whatever works. Did Mughals have something good that works ? Let us take them and implemeent it !!! Does West have something good ? We can take them and Implmeent it !!! Do Communists have something good ? We can take and implmeennt this !!!
Only this sort of Open minded thinking, Complimented with a touch of Unqiue Historical, Cultural Values and Morals, can set a stage for New Era of -Indian- Bharatiya Political, Economical and Judicial systems.

I'm so proud that we have uniquely adapted west ideas & systems in India to suit our bhaarat temperament & values by adding our special touch of creative transparency & accountability. Who needs real progress when we are spinning when told, we are progressing amazingly? Our cultural time pass, are prejudice & divisions. We will never change.

Hindutva doesn't have the ideological framework to keep the country together. Forget about becoming a developed country. In the coming years, India will struggle to stay a one-union state. The last nail in the Indian coffin!

This type of naive thinking/analysis was fashionable 70+ years ago, you don’t need religion to unite a country. Pakistan is a case in point currently, WW1 and WW2 in the last century z

Again mandir issue has started, about a temple being, where UP's Jama Masjid is located. Places of Worship Act of 1991 prohibits the reopening of past claims.
A previous archeological survey had debunked the claims. So why is another survey being done now in UP?
Meanwhile, in a hospital in UP, 17 newborns lost their lives in a fire. This responds to such tragedy tell us the priorities of the UP's Cm.
Communal exploitation is part of UP politics, but these tactics have no place in Manipur state, where ethnic communities are even more diverse, vulnerable & need extra effort/support to build bridges.
To end Manipur crisis, leadership changes at state & national security chair, is necessary, otherwise such incompetence will harm our nation. We must prioritize national interests, rather than political agendas/gains.
