Division Recon conducts operations within the MAGTF commander's battlespace scope, while Force Recon conducts missions deeper behind enemy lines outside of MAGTF support, means they are on their own, thus Recons are trained to a higher level in physical fitness and tactical standards, also more thoroughly trained in DA. Division Recon is for Division and lower level recon, while Force Recon is for force level the Fleet Marine Force, which is the highest command. Since Force Recons need to operate deeper in enemy territories, all of them must be qualified in freefall parachuting and combat diving, but these are not a must for Division Recon (although some are qualified).
If I am not mistaken, no u can't join this unit if u are not a citizen. Force Recons require security clearance, hence members must be US citizens. They are capable of conducting many of the SEALs missions like direct action (although this role is limited for Force Recons), VBSS, maritime hostage rescue, maritime interdiction, vessel sabotage, harbor sabotage, underwater demolition, sabotage and more. But Force Recons are primarily a specialized reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence collection unit, only engage enemies if necessary. In a way, some consider them as sort of the Marine Corps' version of Navy SEALs due to some missions being similar and Force Recons being able to undertake those missions.
You’re simply practicing a “ship takedown.” Not a Destroyer Take down. There are only so many opportunities to train so you take what you can. In this case a Navy ship. To an extent a ship is a ship is a ship. We went on multiple tankers in the gulf. They all look alike after a while.
