I think a lot of people are wondering on how to get UV's on flip fluids, so I decided to create a tutorial on that. This is the shorter free part, the extended part on how to get uv's to transfer seamlessly is on my patreon for $5 patrons.
Hope you enjoy!
YAY!!! That was great, including the cheerful surprise when I saw your goal accomplished. Congratulations for your work and thank you.
I am your new patron..Been watching your free stuff and really helped. Thanks a lot.
thanks so much for the support man ^^ hope you enjoy the stuff on there!
@@TimvanHelsdingen Totally. You are a great teacher.Lots of love from Kenya
Many thanks for the tutorial! Not so long ago I needed to make a similar effect. And I had to do a flip simulation in combination with the pointdeform node and high res mesh. The result was quite bad :D
Glad to hear you like it man :) yeah with point deform you're going to be quite limited. Be sure to check out the extended version on patreon as well on how to get better results :)
needed this, thank you !
be sure to also check out the extended one, that's also on TH-cam now
this is awesome but in render its showing up distorted? any help?
Hello, after the DOP I/O I have to add another attribute transfer because my UV's do not come through on the particle fluid surface node without it. When I do that the texture looks good at frame 1, but when I play it, the texture does not stick to the mesh. Hard to describe without a file but do you know what the issue may be?
Just incase anyone else has this issue, the solution is to change the flip object dop input type to "Particle Field"
My flip object is giving me a lot of noise from somewhere, the surface is not smooth like theres some turbulence setting, but Im using the default settings ezactly as you do here as far as I can tell... houdini 17.
You need a really high resolution sim or mesh for this to work.
never mind second time worked out. not sure where it went wrong i was using my own geo so maybe it had some weird effect.
@@TimvanHelsdingen Hey Tim thanks for replying. Ive managed to finesse it to where it needs to be. Do you see any reason why you could not put hair on a deoforming mesh like this in houdini? Thats the next thing I want to try.
hello I do not understand why my animation does not work when I try as on the video at 3:45, do you think that I should do what to rectify this problem? ty
What exactly isn't working?...
@@TimvanHelsdingen I do not have the animation, at 3 minutes 45 from the video I do like you and I have the animation that is done
Hi. Is the extended part still available for $5?
Hey Elizabeth, the extended version is now actually also available for free here on TH-cam. I did that to celebrate the launch of my new website. The downloads are available for Patreon $5 subs as well: timvanhelsdingen.com/seamless-uvs-on-fluid/
@@TimvanHelsdingen wooow, thank you so much, this is exactly what im looking!
@@Elizabeth_Postol nice! Glad I could help
