Oh my god, I've been searching google and youtube for 40 mins trying to find a video to show me how to put the blue cap back on correctly after washing it. And here you are, enlightening me that the piece is useless and what's been making all that noise for so long 🤯 thank you sooo much for this valuable information. You have saved me an insane amount of time from this day forward.

I'm glad I could help! Yeah, my wife detests the excessive noise. So one day, she tried everything. Once she removed the cap, the dripping sound was gone. Sadly, the motor will hum from time to time. I usually just give it a firm bump and it stops.

I was struggling trying to find pdfs on how to clean different filters for different brands because our current cat fountain is such a pain to clean. I wanted to find a video like this showing me every step before I purchased another fountain. This is a 10/10. Thanks for such a clear and well put together explanation on the entire process. That's outstanding that the pump fan is magnetic .

I saw on You Tube that White filter needs to soak for 2 minutes than rinse thoroughly before using. The Veken box says change every 4 weeks, Thank you for the break down details.

Yeah, I think they're basing the every four weeks on a single cat household. We've got two cats. I tried going two weeks without changing and the water was GROSS. So, I stick to weekly with these guys. As for soaking, I've done it both ways - rinsing and soaking. Both seem to work fine. Go with what you prefer there.

Have you used the stainless steel version? Not a fan of plastic and seems to attract more of that "gunk:. Just wondering! Thanks for the thorough info.

Yes, I've got three versions of this water fountain. I found the stainless steel to be REALLY loud, almost like an idling semi-truck. I'm with you, the plastic ones get a lot of gunk build-up quick, but the stainless steel seems less prone to it. So, you have your trade offs.

I bought the stainless steel version of this fountain and Amazon only sells a version of this where the impeller has curved propellers and I can not for the life of me get it out, using tweezers and pliers I'm pretty sure I'm going to break it trying to pull it out. Did they change the distributor or something?

I have the stainless steel version and agree, the propeller is tough to get out the first time. Once you get it out, it's no issue after that.
