37: Leaving New York City

- After a few days at anchor behind the Statue of Liberty, it was time to pull up our anchor and begin our cruise up the Hudson River. Our first order of business was to line ourselves up so family and friends could watch us on one of the city's live webcams as we cruised past the Statue of Liberty.
The conditions were perfect and we were blessed with amazing views, sounds, and scents of the city while sailing north to our next anchorage on the beautiful Hudson.

@@vw7616 I am fortunate enough that I have logged many hours upon the sea… or at least enough to feel the wind on my face and to smell the ocean, and even to experience the bobbing of the boat as you travel along on your journey.

I’m not going to comment on water soul.
It doesn’t calm me… it alarms me. A busy harbor of this magnitude is inappropriate for contemplation. There will never be silence there. And while theoretically beautiful, it is an eyesore on the steel and concrete landscape, or among the hustle and bustle of the Jersey shore.
I said I wouldn’t comment, but my contemplation left me with many opinions. I doubt that’s what they were going for. Which is why I’m guessing there will never be a survey of NYers for honest feedback of this monstrosity. It’s like a case where the emperor has no clothes. The blurb they gave it swells the senses but, in fact, “she” only shares one message… which is in opposition to how the culture of NY exists.
So who is it for?
As a self appointed critic, I will not comment on water soul. I can only speak on the failure of art. In my humble opinion, of course. ❤️🙄
