- Welcome to Twin Elm Farms! On this channel we show what its like to farm in southern Manitoba, Canada. The farm consists of Kendal, wife Lindsay their kids Hayley, Parker, Jaxon and Brock. Kendal's older brother Darryl, wife Heather, their kids Mackenzie, Dylan, Quin and Ryenne. With our right hand man Pieter. We have other part time help throughout the season, Arch (combine operator) Terry (field work) and Rob (cattle help). We crop corn, soybeans, wheat, oats and canola. We have a cow/calf operation of mostly Simmental and Shorthorn with some other breeds in the mix. Hope you enjoy our content, please subscribe, give it a thumbs up and love hearing comments.

He looks like a Hercules, very handsome calf.
Nice bull calf. Glad you were able to save him. His mother is such a cooperative and patient cow. Glad to see Eleanor walking better.
Great to see the mom not attacking you but letting you help the baby
Such a gentle mama cow.....
What a quiet cow, great mother.
You've had some beautiful calves so far. Looking forward to the rest!
What a good momma
Great save on the calf
Happy you were able to get it to eat. Keep up the great work !!
You know it’s really begun when you have your first big pull. Well done. Beautiful bull calf. In Alberta we are close to melting during the day.
god speed fells...Hope calving goes well. I just finished my first small batch of embryos ... good feeling
thats one nice mama
Great save with the calf. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. Best wishes.
Good save on the calf, good to see. Well done! Thanks for the video.
Way to go Eleanor! Saved yourself from freezer camp, good girl!
You men are the best getting out of the warm tractor to cut the mesh off so cows do t eat it. I wish someone would invent a mesh cutter for the front of that tractor call me a dreamer so much hard work to feed us thanks
I wish the mesh wouldn't freeze to the bale.
I love your skills on helping the calf breathe
Tough start for calf number 3. Patience with the little guy is paying off.
I watched a TH-cam channel called I farm we Farm and on his channel he splashes water in the calf's ear when it's not wanting to respond. Along with trying the straw up the nose. I have no idea how you guys do it. It is extremely cold where you are at. Tomorrow we are supposed to be negative eight degrees Fahrenheit and my plan is to stay indoors. Thank you for being a farmer and being willing to go out and brave the elements.
I think I've heard that truck as well. So many different things to try
Very quite mamma for being so young.
That's awesome your a farmer in Manitoba I'm from Saskatchewan.i love cattle farming I think it's the best .
Love the colouring on the calves. I watched someone on YT using coffee to perk up the calves. Hopefully, I won't have to use it. But it'll be a part of the tackle box this spring.
Saw that as well, we were debating on trying that
And so it begins!! Wishing you a successful calving season!!
Thanks 😊
thanks for nice video
Sorry , but im going to be that guy, vets around here told us 35 years ago , don't hang the calve , any fluid that comes out is from the stomach and not the lungs . When you hang them, all your doing is making it harder for them to breath, with the stomach and everything pushing down on the lungs . I've commented before, you guys do a great job checking your cows and checking the cows out if they're not progressing.
That makes sense to me. We haven't tried that too often, and I guess you could say we were just trying something to see if we could get him to perk up. Don't be sorry I'm always game to hear what others have learnt
I Kendall, you are a hero for saving that cute calf a real animal Stewart I love it. 🐮🐮
Loved the video.
Good job, pulling the baby out fast is the only way to save it. We've had a few of these ourselves over the years and watching doesn't make it any easier but it is something that has to be done to save the calf and the mom.
Is the TMR working to your satisfaction now?
Yes, we are enjoying it.
Where are the babies knitted ear covers
What kind of boots and clothing do yall wear in those temperatures to stay warm
I'll show
Backwards sucks, sure that’s why I find the odd one that didn’t make it every spring, just takes too long sometimes. Almost needed the calf jack on that one. 👍
I hate using the jack on backwards... I feel it takes to long... sometimes we don't have a choice
You knew there would be at leat one rough Birth
I think we always have 2-3 backwards... glad we got one out of the way
