I was stationed at the Navel Weapons Station in Concord during the early 80's. The base is long gone and the only thing in Concord when I was there was brown grass and cows. The only BART station was not close to the base so you had to hump a bit to get there. That was also the last stop for BART. It did not go any further than Concord.
Things have changed a bit, I see. No way in hell that I would pay that kind of money for a house though. It gets COLD during the winter.

Yes, a lot has changed for sure! There are plans for the Naval Weapons stations to be turned into more housing too.

@@erinspringeranderson5410 The base is gone but are they going to memorialize Port Chicago?

Concord was great while the base was still active. I grew up next to the base and had a ton of friends that either lived on base with parents serving or they were stationed there. The Kiska and Mt Hood specifically.
I moved about 30 years ago. I miss it but also knew I wanted to raise my kids in a smaller town. I also would not spend 700k for an 60+ year old home. Which is a pretty average age range.

@@momcatx2 I totally left Cali and went back home to Kentucky. The size house I have now would be a killion in Cali. I paid less than a 4th of that.

Best place to live in the Bay Area. Dana Estates is best neighborhood. Gehringer Pool is a club that made life for us amazing! We moved away to Texas because California is just crazy

We are going to visit a friend there on November. I was looking at the houses but the school ratings are not good.

Concord is very large, there are schools that have higher ratings depending on the area of the city. Let me know if I can help!
