Mine leaks from wall when I turn valve on. When I turn valve off, it does not leak.

Why do they say not to have the freeze proof faucet open for more than 12 hours . How would you connect a timer drip irrigation system to a hose bib if it can’t stay open all the time?

At 17:30 I have a lot of problems with the vacuum breakers that I have replaced. This is the first time that I have heard a recommendation for using teflon tape on the plastic replacement. I am guessing these may be tapered threads. The flange of the plastic threaded part never tightens down to the top of the metal faucet. It seems like it bottoms out before it can tighten down to the flange. I have the ones with the screen on the bottom for the model 144.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your inquiry. We have had some issues accessing our TH-cam channel. I spoke with our R&D experts and this is what they recommend. You can do 5-8 wraps of Teflon tape and with a pair of Chanel lock pliers, snug the vacuum breaker down. Extra tightness will compress the plastic into the metal seat forming a better seal. I hope this is helpful. Thanks for using PRIER Products!

Also... The flange on the plastic vacuum breaker is NOT supposed to tighten down to the top of the metal faucet. It bottoms out inside the faucet head. It should seal where it bottoms out, but doesn’t always. The Teflon tape will definitely stop the leak.
