  • This video is about my process to create a rainbow of colors by using a very hot flame and oxygen on sheet copper. Each piece is unique. Scroll through the video to see different projects.

I am just getting started. How do you smooth your edges? Looks like it's better to do after coloring? Thanks!

Yes, you lose the purples. I use Protectaclear and have used Krylon sprays too.

Fiona, your skills are amazing. Do use any coating after the patina?

Yes, I use various sprays, but my favorite is Protectaclear by Everbrite. Sometimes I dip, sometimes I spray. You have to spray to prevent the colors from fading over time and protect the surface from scratches. Hope that helps.

It's from Victor, type W-J. I believe it was a J-40 torch handle, but it was a few years ago and model numbers change. Thank you.

Are you able to show us the difference flames to get the difference coloring please? Thanks ❤🎉❤😊

Well it’s not about flame size as about the transfer of heat. The smaller the flame, the slower the heat builds up, the more you can control the copper changing color. And lots of practice😉
