    I think you might be mistaken about the brakes recharging the battery. I've owned 2 of these bikes, (Pro Plus models with interchangeable batteries), for 3 years now, and have never read about this feature, nor have I ever experienced it. Plus, there are no electrical wires at all coming from the brakes, and this would surely be necessary to achieve that objective. The EB5 has nicely effective, yet simple and inexpensive, cable-actuated rim brakes like on most economy bicycles - both powered and non powered. That said, in a sense it is true that the battery will last longer on any electric vehicle if you are on the brakes a lot, simply because you are certainly not using up the battery when you are on the brake.
    Thanks for the review. We do enjoy our EB5 bikes and can highly recommend them. The bike's single biggest con in my opinion, is the lack of an automatic "OFF" switch (i.e. cuts itself off after an hour or so of inactivity). For if you happen to accidentally leave your EB5's handlebar switch in the "ON" position during storage, it will utterly destroy the battery, which is a very expensive mistake indeed. You can however, take some solace in the fact that, once it happens to you the first time, you will probably never let it happen again. Ours were being stored in a spare room for the coldest months, and someone went in there and turned on a bike without our knowledge (at the time we had teenagers and their friends in and out all the time). So you must develop a plan to combat this possibility, especially if there are curious young ones about. I simply developed a habit of going to check for this all the time.

    Thanks for this. I just ordered one of these, it will be here Friday. I'm hoping I get a few rides out of it before I shred a tire. Lol

    I have heard that sometimes the steering becomes loose because of the friction between the ground and the tires. Have you noticed any issues at all with anything, or anything coming loose?

      Meaning, do tires hold up well, without flat tires etc?

      So far Maintenance isn't really needed besides the occasional brake line re-adjustment and putting air after rough bike rides . Ive ridden the bike all over Chicago's tough roads, streets and sidewalks as well as smooth surfaces and still have plenty of tread left and brakes. I do try drain the battery at-least 1-2 months if i dont ride it as frequently to prevent the battery from loosing capacity.

    I bought Hero E Cycle n drove on Hilly area, battery helps me a lot... @Simba Did u ever ddrive on Hilly this Swagtron...Any experienced?

    • @simbathehusky8029
      @simbathehusky8029  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes even though this wasn't the highest model in its class, I was able to go through pretty much any surface with ease. Snow, grass, dirt and even gravel felt smooth while I was using pedal assist and throttle control.

    do you feel as though are still able to get exercise while you use it with pedal assist

  • @timenim2284
    @timenim2284 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That's not true about the pedal assist, you can't keep up with the throttle if you peddle.....this is very misleading. I use pedals to look like I'm actually doing something while riding this lol

    I'm wondering, if you rate it a 7/10 is there an ebike that you recommend best compared to this one?

    • @simbathehusky8029
      @simbathehusky8029  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes for a few reasons, if you stick with swagtron their is an "Eb7" model which is supposed to be the level above this "Eb5" model. It has a higher top speed, higher Millage capacity and the battery is removable so you wont have to bring your bike every-time you want to charge the battery. It has larger wheels incase you want to pedal and it will be much easier to manually pedal, it also has upgraded suspension for a much smoother ride. Even with all that I would rate the "Eb7" an 8.5/10 .

      @@arturfil I havent heard too much from them, I know they have similar specs to the Bike that I own but for $899 id rather stick with my bike or upgrade to one of those full size electric bike since its around the same price.

      I've rode my eb-5 daily for over 2 years and I haven't had any issues, they are quality bikes. I ride it about 5-6 miles a day

    Is the speed like e scooter?

    • @simbathehusky8029
      @simbathehusky8029  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes this bike is pretty much the same speed and endurance as an e scooter but with a much more comfortable ride and way better suspension. you can manually pedal faster if you wanted to but regular pedal assist and throttle will be roughly 15mph
