Great Rhinebeck recap. I’ve never been, I live in Montana! So thank you, I appreciate the variety of experiences you showed, your tenacity in wearing your beautiful WIP, subscribed & want to celebrate when you complete your lovely sweater, see the finished project adorned with those buttons. Also, love your blue earrings and wanted to see them closer. Thanks again to you & your husband & friends and the part they played in making this video happen. Take care! ~Beth in MT
Hi, Beth in Big Sky Country! (I have a friend from Billings and visited his family's farm decades ago). Thanks for all your comments and enthusiasm! And thanks for acknowledging the others who made it all possible. I'll be sure to offer a close-up view of the earrings when the sweater is complete. Since you're new here, you will not know that I often talk about my vintage jewelry which is sometimes purchased with a particular sweater in mind. In the case of these authentic Art Deco Czech glass earrings, they and a matching bracelet and necklace were a gift from my husband's aunt. I adore them!!! It's just luck that they match the sweater.
Yes, what a great adventure you had in Rhinebeck! Fingers crossed that you will be in Paris🇫🇷 next year!! Your husband did a great job helping with pics and video. Besides the lady selling vintage buttons, did they have other vendors selling vintage items like vintage patterns, books or needles? Looking forward to seeing your blue and white sweater finished with those wonderful buttons. Along with a close up with the matching necklace and earrings. A few days ago, The Beatles song 'Norwegian Wood'' was a Jeopardy! clue and that reminded me of you. Take care
I loved Jeopardy when Alex Trebek was the host! I didn't see anything else vintage related, but the place is so vast, it's hard to hit every stand. Mostly it's yarn vendors and animals. I have a few more rows of knitting before I can sew the sleeve in and add the buttons. Look for all you're asking for in the very next video!!
It's a long way from Melbourne, to be sure. I hope you can visit some day. Thanks for the compliment! The sweater is nearer to completion today than it was on Saturday, but still a WIP. Soon.......
I think you've picked up a bit of the New York vowels! I hear it in words like "long," "warm," and "walk." We all have accents since there's no one "correct" accent, it's just a question of which one(s) we get!
@@TiredKnitter I try to speak "Standard English," despite the fact that my husband comes from "Lung" Island and my best friend eats "chawklet" ice cream.
Looks like you had a much better experience this year round. Glad you got pretty buttons to go with your fantastic sweater. Next time, please take a video of the button lady's booth. Would love to see it! I see some familiar faces with you in the photos. Have a great day Billie x
When will you make the journey? Transportation by our friends certainly made the day less frenetic. I'll try to get footage of button lady at VKL in January.
I really enjoyed your video, it looks like you had a great day. Good luck with the sweater. It’s really looking great! I live in California, but someday I will make it to Rhinebeck. I’ve been to Stitches West many many times but now that has been canceled for good. Someday, I will have to make it to your beautiful festival.❤
How silly I was to think the pullover would be ready! I can't believe I'm still working on it! FYI: Ravelry has a Rhinebeck group, so if you decide to come East, you may find others to travel to the festival with. Hope to see you there someday.
Thanks! It's always the challenge-- getting the colors right! This brand changes color constantly, so I was lucky to hit it, and ordered extra just in case. You can see my decision making process in back episodes.
Hi Billie! Thank you for this wonderful Rhinebeck recap. I went the first year after Covid, on the WEBs bus, and the number of attendees was limited; it was still very overwhelming. Everyone should try to go at least once, though. Stay well.
Great video Billie! I couldn't go this year so it was nice to see your pictures and video. Glad you enjoyed it. What kind/ quantity of buttons are you wanting for black sweater?
Thanks! Sorry you missed it, but glad you could live vicariously through my images. For the black sweater, I want something very folk-art....maybe a glass or wooden button with hand painting of an ornate flower. I need at least 8. Why? Do you have a vintage button collection?
@@robincapuano8216 "You have a vintage coffee shop" meaning you own one or there's one in your neighborhood? I think a 1" diameter would be good. Thanks for offering to take pics!
Sounds like certain influencers dominate that show. I cannot understand why you would want to knit the same sweater design as hundreds of others knit. Guess that’s the unique way of thinking for us vintage knitters who seek indivuality rather than looking the same as everyone else!

Great video! I enjoyed watching. Love the way you speak.
I'm glad you liked it!
Great recap! It was wonderful to see you there
Thanks! It was great to catch up with you, too!
Great job on the video. I look forward to seeing more from you.
I look forward to producing more for you to see!

Love the jumper you almost wore. So stunning. One day I’ll get to Rhinebeck- I live in Melbourne Australia xxx

Your accent and attitude remind me so much of my family out east. Loved the recap!
Accent? What accent??? Growing up in Philadelphia, I had a noticeable accent, but now as a New Yorker, I lost it.

Great video. This was my first Rhinebeck and I loved it. Bought a nice amount of project yarn. I’m sorry I didn’t meet up with you. Maybe next year!
I do hope to meet you at a future Rhinebeck. What are your plans for all this yarn?
Happy Birthday Billie 🎉 🎂 🎁
Thanks, Trina!!

Wow! Your colors in this video are the most flattering yet! The contrast is perfect! I need to wear more contrast myself💙

I agree! It's worth the experience, even if the crowds are intense!
First time seeing you, I’ll say hi next time 😊
You saw me in person? Do you remember where?

I do have some but have a vintage coffee shop with many old button sets. What diameter? I could take pictures if I see any good ones.

Ain't that the truth! A sea of sameness bores me...but like sheep they are shepherded.
