I had seen this doll in one of your first videos and I was wondering when or even if you were ever going to review her. I'm happy the long-awaited day ( at least for me) is finally here :p I've had this doll for a few years and I completely agree with everything you said about her. I have the other dolls from 2012 as well and one of the dolls, the afternoon suit Barbie, has a similar outfit as the Christian Dior Barbie. I guess that doll was the silkstone version for the Christian Dior Barbie, or maybe a hommage to Mr. Dior. Loved this review!! Have a great week :)

I loved this doll and gown too. I needed to fluff her hair too but I noticed it was cut very short so I just combed in over and tried to keep her flip to hold. I was very impressed with all the dolls is this series.
Oh how wonderful!! I have her too and if there are Silkstone dolls I would put up there as one of the best, she'd make it to top 10. I never took out the clothes though and I appreciate it that you do as only you could dissect the craftsmanship done on her from a fashion perspective. You're so brave to do that given how soft and fragile the material can be on that scale. And on your perspective about the Silkstone support, yes, it seems that current Silkstone support pales in comparison to the first 10 years. I feel there is really a need to inflect that brand with fresh energy. I saw the Rose Cocktail doll of 2018. Nice print but I felt they could have done more with the structure of the dress (as derived from its Dior inspiration).They also changed the box. I still prefer the Atelier-looking boxes and yet I do understand that now they put an image of the doll in front so that buyers have a good idea of what's inside. BUT STILL wonderful review as always Suresh. I like that your videos are always polished and well lighted with cutaways to history that link the doll to couture, enriching perspectives on fashion craftsmanship, enlightening definitions and close ups of the doll. I also like that as the host of your program you looked fashionably awesome and so suave, definitely befitting of presenting doll fashions. Bravo! (P.S. A doll on a turntable to show 360 gown appreciation would be nice too. Can't wait for more of your videos. Such happy, happy energies).

I have this one! I won her in a raffle at my local doll club's holiday party the year she came out. I can tell you I had fun flatironing all those layers of chiffon and tulle. And yes, it floofed like crazy. :D I haven't tweaked her hair yet, but I imagine I will do that at some point, her coif did not wow me after the hairnet was removed, I have the same issue with the back of my doll's hair. So I imagine I will wet-sculpt it at some point.
I think she is my favourite at the "old goodies", really love the yellow dress :) Still loving my blush and gold jointed silkstone, she really have weight like old ones too :)

Hi Bianca, I don't use the stands that come with Barbies. I use Fashion Royalty saddle stands that hold the dolls between their legs.
