    I am proud to announce that I have fixed my first snow globe thanks to you two! My mom has a collection of Disney globes that were stored in an attic for years. We recently got them down and many of them have small issues, but there was an Aladdin globe that was completely empty. I opened it up and noticed that the stopper was dry rotted and had a small hole. I didn’t have any replacements so I did my best to cover the stopper in hot glue once I refilled it. It has been over a week now with no leaks, so fingers crossed I did a good job! Thank you for sharing videos on this channel, you helped me a lot! Hope you guys are having a good day!!

      Hi Maddie! We are happy to hear that we were able to help you get your first globe repaired. Great job! We didn't have replacement stoppers when we first started. The first globe that we fixed had a tear in the stopper and we sealed the tear with a bunch of hot glue. That was over two and a half years ago and it still has not leaked any water. If the repair fails at some point in the future, look for an inexpensive used snow globe that has the same size glass globe and use the stopper from it to fix yours. That's what we do. Thanks for the comment!

      Hi. This globe is part of a set. We don't know how many there are but we have about four or five which all share the same theme. You may want to check out Episode 35 and Episode 59 where we repair two other dolphin globes from that set.

    This globe actually reminds me of this little ornament set that I have, it’s a set of six little village houses. They have a miniature music box in each building, when you wind it up, it powers the light.

      Hi TJ, good to hear from you again. Sounds like an interesting ornament. By the way, we tried to get a hold of you a couple of months ago. We went to your channel to leave you an email but we couldn't find and email address so we commented on one of your videos but never heard back. We then tried to reply to one of the comments that you left on our channel but we couldn't find you when we searched for TJs Collectibles. We couldn't figure out why we couldn't find your comments. I see now that you changed your user name. Glad to see that you are okay. Keeping us on our toes!
      The reason we were trying to get a hold of you is that a viewer contacted us to see if we could identify the tune on two of their snow globes. We could not, but we told them that we know someone that can! We were going to see if you would be interested in identifying them. Unfortunately we no longer have the tunes but if that comes up again we will look for you under teej1991. Take care.

      That’s weird. I’ve been watching out for you guys for months. I would’ve known if there was a note notification, but I didn’t see nothing. Weird. But I promise you, none of my videos are deleted.

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We saw that all of your videos were there and we left a comment on one. It didn't look like anything was deleted. I'm not sure if you are aware of what happened, however, we had to move abruptly and unexpectedly due to a health issue at our last place. We moved into our new place about six months ago and have several new issues to deal with. We haven't been able to do any snow globe work or videos. We hope to get back to the channel once we get past these issues.
      Let us know you would like to identify those snow globe tunes for our subscriber. You would get credit for the identification of course. I'll contact her and see if she can send the tunes again. If so we'll let you know and we can email them to you.

      OK. Music box tune identification, I love doing that. as for my email, I’m really bad at checking it. however, will definitely figure something out.

      Never actually thought of putting my email up on there before. I’m really bad at checking it. tell me, if I could find the video in what you commented, I would definitely respond. But since you told me what you needed me for, I would love to help. i’ve loved music boxes for many years now, so let me know what you want to do for naming these songs.

    Hello Tony Hello Ally. Thanks for the video, looks really nice. I can imagine that the cardboard acts like a savety barrier. That the cabels don´t fall in the mechanism of the carussel overtime.
    See you next time, bye.

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that is what we imagined the cardboard's purpose is. It was hanging down and visible through the opening for the carousel. It was also stained from the water that leaked and was coming apart. We got the wires tucked up in there. You can't see them.

    It's a beautiful and very unusual globe! Do you know, how old it is?
    I have a few dolphins and a bunch of glass fishes and other glass marine life which I got in Murano, Venice. I will try to make a similar globe with coloured water and baby oil. Thanks for the inspiration 😊

    Where did you get this syringe? Here in Germany we can buy syringes without a needle in all pharmacies. But depending on how the hole in the snowglobe is accessible, I need a longer tube.

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Germany! Nice. I lived in Germany for three years back in 1988. I was stationed in Stuttgart when I was in the Air Force. I really enjoyed my stay there. We got those syringes from a store here named Bed, Bath, And Beyond. However, you can get them from Amazon. What you need to look for is a marinating syringe, however, you want one that has only one hole at the tip, as opposed to the marinating syringes where the needle has holes on the side as well. We explain the syringe as well as our other tools in Episode 3.

    Hi do you happen to have a video of a
    Damaged Mickey surfing globe? The water turned yellowish, and I was thinking of replacing it. The only
    Problem is part of the water is blue. Can you please help

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. We are not familiar with that globe. It sounds like the globe has oil and water in it. If the blue liquid is at the bottom of the globe then it is colored water. You can make some more by mixing some blue food coloring in some water. If the blue liquid is at the top of the globe then you have colored mineral oil which floats. For the mineral oil you will need to purchase oil based food coloring. You can find it on Amazon. Good luck.

    • @Jcgirlie619
      @Jcgirlie619 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thank you so much for responding! Hi, yes the blue water is in the bottom only. Do you know how to separate the blue water from the top clear water. How do i keep the blue water from turning the rest of the water blue. Thanks again! You guys are awesome!!

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jcgirlie619 The globe has a combination of water and oil. The food coloring for the water, at the bottom of the globe, will not bleed into the oil. That is why you need oil based food coloring if you want to color the oil. The regular food coloring for water will not affect the oil.

    I recently received that squared glitter I sent you guys a link to. So far it's working pretty well and its almost a match for the kind that usually comes in these globes, the only difference is this kind is slightly more rainbow and striking than the original kind

    May I ask if these two products should be added to the water in this crystal ball? CLEAR COLOR Shaker Oil, Shaker Wate Clear Bluo. Because I have a crystal ball like this and want to try changing the water myself, thanks

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have never heard of "Shaker Oil". We looked it up and it sounds like it may be similar to baby oil (mineral oil). We have used oil on its own in a snow globe but not mixed with water as it will separate. However, that may be the effect you are looking for. We recently posted a snow globe repair where we used a mix of mineral oil and blue colored water in a dolphin snow globe. The clear oil floats to the top and the blue water stays on the bottom and when you move the snow globe the blue water working against the thicker oil creates a wave effect that resembles the ocean. Check out episode 207 if you are interested in seeing that. We were not able to find any information on Shaker Water Clear Blue. However, being that it sounds like some type of water it will probably give you a similar effect if you mix them both in the globe.
      Good luck!

    Your video's are really great, I've learned so much. I wonder if you could please give me a little advice. I have a Disney 25th Anniversary Snow Globe just like the one in your episode 65 video, mine also has a broken globe which I'm finding difficult to find a replacement globe for, I have so far bought 2 second hand globes, which are approximately 3.5" in diameter. The problem I'm finding is that although the diameter is correct on both replacements, the openings (neck) of the globes are a little too big to use as a replacement for my snow globe. I would really appreciate any advise you are able to give me, as it mean a lot to me to be able to repair this globe. Thank you

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. We get all of our replacement parts by disassembling old used snow globes that are beyond repair. We have a box of replacement globes and we have the luxury of being able to compare and select the correct size. You can order a new replacement globe. There are links in the video description to several companies that sell snow globe parts. The following information should help:
      This information comes from: snowglobecentral.com/pages/repair
      On the base of your broken or cracked snow globe, measure the diameter of the circular opening where the snow globe fits into the base. The diameter is the largest line straight across from point a to point b.
      Glass replacement globes for snow globes and water balls are most commonly available with diameters of:
      • 1 1/8 inch diameter base opening = 1 3/4" diameter glass globe
      • 1 3/4 inch diameter base opening = 2 1/2" diameter glass globe
      • 2 1/4 inch diameter base opening = 3 1/4" diameter glass globe
      • 2 3/4 inch diameter base opening = 4" diameter glass globe
      • 3 inch diameter base opening = 5" diameter glass globe
      • 4 inch diameter base opening = 6" diameter glass globe
