NOT THE TEMPLARS but quite possibly much older.... To quote Wiki, "The Caynton Caves are a series of man-made underground chambers in the grounds of Caynton Hall, near Beckbury, Shropshire, England. Their original purpose and date of construction are disputed, though most authoritative sources date them to the 19th century." The Templar Order , started in 1119 was dissolved in 1312 (early 12-14th. centuries). Very well known, they are not open to the public. They were sealed in 2012 to keep out vandals and people intent upon 'Black Magic' rituals. They may possibly be older than the Templars. The Anchor Church Caves in Derbyshire, once thought to be (like Caynton) an 18th century 'folly', are actually the remains of a 'near complete' 9th century Anglo-Saxon house and the doors. The recesses of Caynton look decidedly Anglo-Saxon whilst the chambers are distinctly similar in appearance to the 8th. century Anglo-Saxon crypt of St. Wystan's Church, at Repton, that was made into the mausoleum of King Æthelbald of Mercia. Doubtful as Templar, it's certainly worth considering the possibility that the cave is Anglo-Saxon, from the 8-9th centuries, not 12-14th century and very questionable as an 18th. folly. There's no historical record of who constructed it from an age when such a record is to be very much expected.
You're wasting your life reading Wikipedia. It's a neat reference but there's not much fact to it. It's been proven that they destroy historical evidence. And yo bro? You are of Neanderthal lineage. Have you ever tried to turn your body a little bit sideways to fit into a smaller gap than your shoulder width? Plus when your wifey or girlfriend held the camera for the 3 seconds a couple different times it was the most stable parts of the video. You're a Neanderthal dude You need to relax slow down and perfect your movements bro My god man just could Lord just in Neanderthal and every movement
Thanks again Ben and Annabelle for another fantastic video. A couple of channels here in the US I also watch are The Trek Planer (he hikes way down desert canyons and finds ancient Native American ruins) and Amazing PA (they crawl into and hike way down centuries old mines)
Not Templar but an Anglo-Saxon tomb or hermits cave 8th or 9th century AD ! This is of great historical importance an needs to be better cared for and not be open to litter bugs and vandals !
Love it. Wish we had cool stuff like that in Oregon. A good clean up will help to keep it clean, hopefully and a good service you can do to pay back for using it on TH-cam.
Wow what a hidden treasure. Looking at pics on the internet, there are photos of it lit up with tea lights, maybe the ones you found. Looks amazing lit up! Shame it's been getting vandalized , appears it one had a metal grate over the entrance. It needs clearing and re-sealing.
It's located on private land and privately owned. It was sealed to prevent vandalism and black magic rituals. No doubt, after the publicity of this TH-cam Video, it will be sealed up again.
your imagination says templar, or temple. two mistakes is seen or observed. a. they (templars) will not make entrance hole that small. second the "layout" arrangement ie pillars, curvatures and "naves" is not priest type temple ie not worship-able place. I believe this was a hideout from raiders attacking nearby village. reason I say this, I seem to notice that naves were arranged not pointing to the entrance or blocks view from entrance, thus any form of illumination (candle oil or torch) will not cast light out of cave.
If you could see me you would see me smiling ear to ear. Knights Templar omg how exciting. This is a great adventure thank you both very much. Stay healthy, happy and safe always 😊
nice find. somebody should take the time to clean the place of rubbish. broom, dust bucket & garbage bag is all you need and of course some lights. there are notches on those wall are where you put the lights up (usually fire torches).

All your videos are fascinating. God bless Ben and Annabelle.😊
You're very well-informed. I hope they read your comment.

Needs to be protected and excavated properly its criminal how it is .

Why is that not protected?

I'd be back in there with a plastic garbage bag. That place is cool.

should probably be gated, locals obviously have no respect for it
Crazy how trashed it is. No respect there either. Cool place tho, thank you for sharing.
Caynton Caves? Not templar but still a cool site. Historic England dates the grotto as probably late 18th-century or early 19th-century.
Compare this cave with the crypt in St. Wystan's Church, Repton, and Anchor Church cave and tell me they're not Anglo-Saxon.
Very, very interesting! However; I'd be afraid of finding some bodies.....
Wow, the only thing missing are a few skeletons on the floor.
They went to a lot of trouble to trip on brugsmantia and weed and another substance and then try to stick it to everyone.
I'm guessing thats Caynton caves you was at
absolute shame .. so much history lost because of ignorance
It's not lost if they report it to what preservation society they have there. More important than posting it in YT.
Send the little lady in first, in case of spiders and snakes and badgers.
They need to notify whoever is in charge of historical preservation, to make sure it's preserved. It's already full of garbage.
🤯🤯
How did they make this?? Whoah!
Thanks guys! That was pretty spectacular!❤😊
This was carved out of the rock. Nights Templar would have crucifix on the walls. I do not think it is nights templar.
well we see who wears the britches in your family, you go Annabelle and leave scaredy cat behind
