Thx for taking time to address this issue. I’ve been in an interracial relationship for 20+ years and I’ve seen society’s acceptance evolve over that time. We still get stares and double takes (we live in a VERY conservative area). I’ve learnt to deal with it (I think), but at the end of the day I’ve found my soulmate, so I’m blessed and happy!

I'm black and my husband is white. We have 6 kids....3 pretty much look white, or have an olive skin tone, and 3 have a tan/ caramel skin complexion like me. My husband had blonde hair when he was little, which turned brown as he got older, and he has green eyes. We have 1 daughter that had blonde hair when born, which now looks kind of strawberry blonde, which is so weird! She is also the only one that has light brown eyes. Honestly we had so much fun trying to guess what our kids were going to look like....especially after having the first one 😂

There are differences even in the American culture. For example, New Englanders vs Southerners. It could be the food, music, stores, slang, etc... And some Americans have families that celebrate more than more nationality in the home. So, for many, their American upbringing may look different from others.

This helped to cut through some of the racial barriers as an interracial couple in our relationship. And yes I know what you mean by with the attitude in Florida with interracial couples. We witnessed similar experience as well. I went to rent a car and the white male who was in customer service, it took him a little while to come to terms that he was my husband. There were other incidents so yeah you will get that stare in FL.

Kenna your 💘 for each other will out weigh all the negativity. I were visiting my Neice who is a young Nanny in the Atlanta area. We were at the aquarium with her and the little boy she she keeps. I decided to test the curiosity of some of the whites people that were looking at us, by the way my Neice is Black. I told the little boy come to Auntie and some of those curious people eyes almost popped out their head. It were so funny. I think you will be 👌.

I agree. There is always a "Somebody done somebody wrong song" story or a love story of some sort. When my granddaughter and I were on a road-trip I put the radio on a country and western station. At first she was like Gigi, I know you didn't put that stuff on. I normally listen to R&B, but this time I just wanted to hear a little C&W. She got caught up in the story and wanted to know why " the light went out in Georgia and why they hung an innocent man" all the what's and why's the man did what he did. Too funny. Country music is also soul music from a different perspective. IJS Those little kisses you plant on Keanna are "Butterfly kisses" - country song.
