Sorry you are wrong...this is a great pro camera for professional work. I have 5dmk3 & 5dmk4 and still like to use my 6d mk1 and 5d mk1. Great cameras.
Agreed, its a wonderful camera, if you are into dslrs and like caonon. Classic yet modern. 5D is nice too but the LCD is terrible. This guy is here to sell his voice and commentary. I’ve been using it EF 100mm f/2. You can even pick some nice EF L lenses for cheap while everyone is on the RF bandwagon. Don’t listen to him, get it
My favorite camera! I prefer it for portraits, second camera for weddings, and street photography. Lightweight and great rendering from the sensor. Pair it with a 40mm pancake lens ::chefs kiss::
I almost shoot only portraits. I used to work as a portrait photographer. I LOVE the 6D for this, I use only the center focus point and reframe. I also miss my 7D. :( I kind of like the "first of everything". I have shot a lot of Canon up to the 5d MK4 and the 1D-X. And some Phase One and Hasselblad (that was NOT my own cameras!). I had to stop my professinal photo because of illnes. Point being, what I am using now is the 6D, 5D MK2, the 70D and the first EOS-M. Because of the budget, but also because I love SLR's. :) But the 6D needs good glass! Nice video by the way. :)
I'm in the market for a spare body after the holidays and the 6d is on the list because over the years I have accumulated several good EF lenses. These lenses will work better on full frame than on crop bodies, at least according to DXOmark. I will probably go for something more modern like an SL2 or M50, but in the used market 6d is worth looking at. Anything with less than 50,000 actuations will probably outlive me!
As much as I love the 6D, this review is a cross between listening to a radio 4 broadcast at 3am on a Sunday morning, and some sort of non-governmental mind-control content, in a Hollywood sci-fi blockbuster, that went straight to netflix…
This was the most soothing review i've ever watched. I'm a beginner and this was the camera that was recommended to me during a two-day seminar. I have my eye on one second-hand. The lady was telling me that she never checked the shutter count but she used it professionally and it was probably quite high. Turns out it was about 20k. I'm quite excited about it.
I bought a 6D in 2013 and it is the only full frame camera that I have ever owned. It is a very easy camera to use and produces excellent quality with images that blow up to A3+ with no issue. I have just purchased an iPhone 14 ProMax and the image results that I get are fantastic. My thought were to sell my 6D but I have gone against that idea as there is still something about holding a "real" camera even though it won't make a phone call. Go for the purchase and I promise you that you will be exceptionally pleased with the results.
I love the 6d. Good ergonomics and the sensor actually holds up pretty well. The files are easy to edit and the colors come out nice. Unfortunately the light meter of my camera is somewhat broken and has become extremely oversensitive with highlights. So in fact it is a full manual camera only and I don’t use it that often anymore. Bye the way major downside of all older canons is, that there is no auto iso in manual mode.
@@ericmerlin5072 Of course you are right. The 6d has Auto-ISO in manual mode, but there is no possibility to dial in exposure compensation. This makes it to me pretty much useless since my 6d ist always underexposing by 2/3 tp 1 stop. Even with spot metering the camera is extremely sensitive to highlight.

I had regrets about buying it new and not 2nd hand as it still goes strong after quite some use and I realise I could have spent the difference on lenses.. Definitely not on par. The rubber top dial fails and comes loose / slips where as 5D is hard plastic. The D pad also has issues if moisture gets inside. I’ve had both of these happen.
the new camera will give you a little laziness with aftofocufs, taking this function upon yourself. But then, post-processing will force you to fiddle with colors and retouching more - resolution does not help, and often hurts portraits
@@kevrosas1 Only because of having to step back on a crop sensor to get the same framing of you subject thus losing background blue because of distance to subject. If you dont move the DoF is exactly the same with the same lens you just lose the wider field of view..
If you are on budget and want to step up from crop sensor body, this would be a very smart choice! I use this camera since 2014 for almost (8 years) and still in 2022 for living. Nice review @Christian Skyes
Light gathering is equal with any sensor because it is a per unit (pixel site) operation. It is why you never see a "format" button on a light meter... lens MM is the distance of lens element to sensor/film plane. the 50mm lens will give you a 50mm field of view [the industry standard of view]. on a APS-C it gives you a 75mm field of view (FoV) but the lens MM doesn't change and on a GFX medium format, that 50mm lens [assuming it covers the sensor area] gives you a 40-ish MM FoV while the lens is still called a 50MM focal length. Cropping the sensor area or expanding the size is only That, cropping the image on capture, nothing else; no Less or no more light and no changing the lens MM number. Small apature to get larger depth of field. Manually pre-focus at specific distance. Assuming you don't move a lot. If you someone is holding/manning the camera while filming, get some good handles n 5 ir 6 inch external monitor, but make sure one of your hand is free to do manual focus. The external also comes handy when your camera is pointed at sharp angles, like night shots of star trails.
the top of the body is NOT of metal construction. it is polycarbonate. a 50mm lens on a crop sensor camera is still 50mm. the field of view on a canon crop sensor with a 50mm lens is equivalent to (i.e. "looks like"), in the case of canon apsc crop, 85mm lens as it appears on a full frame (i.e. 24×36mm) camera. the crop sensor homes in on a smaller central portion of the lens placed in front of it, as compared to larger sensors. this produces a magnification effect.
