The writers tapped into the abusive element in the relationship between Buffie and John that I find very convincing. From his hunting her down and then physically and emotionally tormenting her, I found it so real. Given the economic constraints Buffy has I feel more drawn to her. I would have liked a little more backstory. Why did she leave Collinwood? Was there something between her and Quentin? Her room is beautiful indicating to me that she lived somewhat comfortably. That she could afford the painting over the fireplace pointed to some extra money and interests that mark her as above the level of education you might think a barmaid would have. That John could tap into that means the formula that brings him out of Cyrus also might have triggered some psychic capabilities.
Wow, that John Yaeger (Jekyll & Hyde) personality always keeps harassing & intimidating Buffie. Quentin is investigating the mystery between Cyrus Longworth & John Yaeger.
Okay, I know who Yaeger is. He's the "Hyde" version to Dr. Cyrus, right? Same actor, just lots of makeup, and a wig. I could tell that he was wearing a wig, the makeup job was a little sloppy. I feel sorry for that barmaid. Yeager is scaring her, and she hates him. Poor Buffie Harrington! (that's the name I heard in the video)I hope she can get away from that creep! TFS! ~Janet in Canada
Apparently, the good Dr. Longworth was extremely multi-talented as a physician, in that he was later able to perform a rhinoplasty operation on his OWN nose, AFTER he had transformed into the savage John Yaegar. Truly remarkable! Yes, that rather “prominent”proboscis John Yaegar is currently sporting will almost miraculously disappear overnight. In fact, looking at that humongous honker on John Yaegar reminds me of the time Johnny Carson once asked Ed McMahon on The Tonight Show: “Would it be rude if I did NOT offer actor Karl Malden my handkerchief if he sneezed as a guest on our show?”
@@darkshadowsfansunite8140 I think poor John Yaegar also experienced great difficulty in trying to keep that thick, Frank Zappa-like mustache of his on right because it would occasionally come loose on his face. On one of the videotapes of the past DS Festivals here on TH-cam, actress Marie Wallace tells the late Christopher Pennock that he looked like Charlie Chaplin with that awful mustache he wore as John Yaegar.
WHAT A SUSPENSEFUL AND MYSTERIOUS EPISODE 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Great insights, EmilyAnn.
@@darkshadowsfansunite8140 Happy New Year!
Wow, excellent analysis of Buffy, and how it effects the dynamics with Yaeger. You should write a book 😊
Dark Shadows is the New Rocky Horror. Big up from The Bronx Zoo
Happy new year all
And to you as well. Happy viewing.
Poor Buffy ...

That mans hair looks like it is made of plaster.

This is unquestionably the worst makeup job ever done on Dark Shadows!
I agree

@@kensellers4082 Love the Johnny Carson reference. Thank you.
The nose seemed to get a bit bend after the fighting scenes.
