My immediate thoughts when I saw the “too many beds” tropes was:
1) both characters do a countdown of which bed they are going to be sleeping on, then once they say 3, they point to the exact same bed. Basically spirals into an argument of “no **I** wanted that bed!”
2) “Alright, you stay on that side of the IKEA, and I’ll stay on this side!😤😤”
3) The two characters still find themselves cuddled next to eachother in the morning cuz the store is cold and there isn’t enough warm blankets
Can I steal? 🥺 (btw I live in Sweden and love IKEA and I can pronounce all the furniture)

The “too many beds” becomes a goldilocks situation in which one of the characters is not comfortable in any of the beds except the other characters’, and the other character will not move, so they just end up begrudgingly sharing the same bed.

They weren't really equals, which I feel might be necessary for it to be enemies. If they BOTH had insulted each other, tried to hurt and sabotage each other then I might consider them enemies.

You know, reversed hanakai can actually be good with some minor adjustments.
Imagine it's a cute wholesome story about two people falling in love with each other. Nothing wrong there, right? Just wholesome romance that leads up to a confession scene where they realize it's a mutual pinning! Congratulations!
But then....
Reverse hanakai kicks in! Their love for each other is a poison to one of them (basically hanakai). Throughout the rest of the story, one of them must hide the fact that their love is slowly killing, poisoning their lungs with their lover's favorite flower. It's a race against the clock!
Will they find out before the demise of their partner?
Will it be too late?
Will the newly found pair learn to fall out of love with each other for the sake of preserving their lover's life?
Or will it end in a bittersweet tragedy in which death do them part?

OK, OK, hear me out: The parkour ruins all the beds except 2 of them, and one of those beds is super uncomfortable while the other is the most comfortable bed either of them have ever seen. So, of course, they both argue over who gets the comfortable bed and character A tells character B that since B broke the other beds and A didn't, A should get to sleep in the comfortable bed. So B agrees and tells A than they can sleep in the comfortable bed, but that's not going to stop them from sleeping in the comfortable bed the self. So then, out of spite and stubbornness, they both sleep in the comfortable beds and when they wake up, they find themselves wrapped in the other's arms

Honestly there’s nothing I can do but agree with you on that fact.
Speed inferno is real-life, in my opinion. I write slow burns and pre-established relationships because they're the failsafe relationship goal. I've seen it in my own parents' 43-year marriage. Love is real, but it's a candle compared to the nonsensical conflagration I see almost everywhere else. The crap churned and spewed from Wattpad, Fanfiction.net, AO3, and others isn't "real" writing to me. Sure, a mindless romp every now and then is fine, but when it comes to quality...all I do is smh.
I've been writing since I was 10. It's hard to find a GOOD fanfic, let alone a slow burn.
