Extraction 2 Interview: Golshifteh Farahani & Adam Bessa Talk Spoilers and Deadly Motorcycles

Like any good action hero, Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) can’t be kept down for long. With director Sam Hargrave and Joe Russo’s Extraction 2 available on Netflix, by now, you’ve seen the heart-pumping, adrenaline rush of complex action sequences, as well as those shocking losses. On top of bringing Tyler back from the dead, the sequel further develops its characters, allowing the Extraction Universe to expand, and following the New York City premiere, Collider’s Steve Weintraub was able to speak with two of the budding franchise’s stars, Golshifteh Farahani & Adam Bessa.
We met both Farahani’s Nik and Bessa’s Yaz Khan in the first film, and in Extraction 2, they both return for Rake’s next icy excursion after Idris Elba shows up at Rake’s cabin with a new mission. This time, the mercenary has ties to his charges, the sister of his ex-wife and her two children, who are being held at a Georgian prison, and when things go south, Rake and his team find themselves being pursued by a terrorist, Zurab (Tornike Gogrichiani), out for revenge.
While chatting with Collider, Farahani and Bessa share their intense training regimen, how much prep it takes ahead of shooting for fight scenes, and talk about which action sequence proved the most challenging to pull off. The duo also discloses tricks fans may be surprised to learn and tease where the Extraction Universe may go from here. You can check out all of this and more in the video or transcript below.

The chemistry between these two was a very powerful element to the film. Yaz was badass, shame he had to die, but really raised the stakes in the film

This movie does not let off the gas, let me tell you.
What I loved about Golshifteh's performance is that she wasn't trying to be a man in a woman's body or was unbeatable against bigger guys in the fight scenes. This made it more realistic to me. Her character got hurt and she fought in a more feminine way than the male characters. I want to see more about the back story of how Nik and Tyler met in the next one and I hope the relationship between them stays as it is and doesn't become a romantic one.

Nik & Yaz as well as Tyler aka Chris Hemsworth ‘s characters were ABSOLUTELY badass I have watched both Extraction films but the 2nd truly blew me away when Yaz died & Nik cried I felt that pain too, the only thing that I will miss is if they do a 3d film there will be no Yaz 😭😭😭 Brilliant acting, directing, & special effects . 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 LOVED both films but the 2nd one just so impressed & amazed at how I was emotionally invested in the film. KUDOS to everyone involved.
It's an absolutely incredible movie - every performance was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If it doesn't win any prestigious awards, something's wrong!!!

Her exhaustion sold her character for me. She was kicking ass. While Chris gave us believable killing machine.

Was super impressed with Adam Bessa in the Netflix war movie "Mosul" and he did a great job being brought more into the fore of the Extraction 2 story.

The main think which differentiate Extraction 2 from other movies is the CGI & BFX works were exceptionally well💯, everything was looking row🔥

They look baked here haha! Preparing for the movie must've been really hard. Watched it and it was a blast. Just sad they killed off Yaz too early cuz i would really love to see the dynamics between the siblings and Tyler in extraction 3 but i know it'll be huge

Adam Bessa is great as Yaz but his skills are given real screen time and credit in Mosul. Never knew he speaks Arabic - as a French Tunisian actor.

Superb movie! Action sequences are orgasmic indeed! Superb! But...BUT, so...one thing is India, pardon me where certain areas are a bit like the Favelas in Rio de Janeiro, I.e the police don't venture too much and they let "God" sort out the gangs as they fight among themselves...So, the 1st movie had that well covered with some level of realism, India being India, but, another thing is Vienna in Austria!! That scene in the Hotel my god! I swear IF something like that happened in real life, even the military would send fighter jets to that location just in case it was terrorism!!! And bomb the shit out of it too!! No to mention more police then drones in a bee hive! Plus their Swat equivalent and Special Forces soldiers to boot! So...despite the amasing action sequences, its UTTERLY devoided of "politcal" realism. Unlike the 1st movie. A shame...because they could have easily filmed in Georgia, where the gang already owned the Goverment etc etc etc ...oh well...

After the 21 minute oneshot it went from badass action movie to generic action movie... the "emotional scenes" were not earned so I was waiting for more action longtakes...but nothing..it became a generic action movie after the onner😢 you can bassically just stop watching after the prison, car chase and train onner..such a shame.. especially since extraction 1 and Mosul are superb films...this one fallsvery short..especially the "I got a mission" and "not without my team" cliché 😂😂😂😂😂😂 i was like nope....if this is the quality going foward...just stop making it lol
