Now I’m all for capital punishment. But, I believe it should be quick and as painless as can be. I say that because God will pronounce judgement on everyone. And what he can do is much worse than anything we could ever imagine. You have a right to think or feel anyway you wish. All I’m saying is if you believe in God. Have a little mercy in your heart. Because, if you have mercy in your heart. Then God will show mercy towards you. God bless you sir and thank you for serving as a police officer.

When the death penalty is applied to a murder suspect and found guilty there are several criteria it has to meet or you can't impost the death penalty and no doubt his victim or victims suffered horrific deaths. So no matter what happened to him is nothing compared to what they endured. You do not even have to know the facts to know there were plenty facts to support seeking the death penalty. So his spiritual advisor needs to pray for the loss of the lives of the victim.

The conviction behind the guilty verdict would mean the intention was not for the penalty to be delivered against someone who was innocent and that at worst the reaching of the guilty verdict was somehow reckless as opposed to malicious (unless you have reason to believe guilty verdicts are being read out maliciously) which means if the conviction were wrong the imposing of the penalty would not be equivalent to the crime in the first degree if you are equating the penalty with the crime in the first degree; is capital punishment imposed for the crime in the second degree?

Why have sympathy with the murderer? He found out what is like to slowly die. He felt the fear Elizabeth Sennett felt when struggling to live. Kenneth Smith first stabbed and then beat Elizabeth Sennett with a fireplace implement. "“She fought it and she fought hard,” said Ronnie May, who was chief investigator with the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office at the time. “It was horrific to me.”

Guys, the point is that we're supposed to be better than the murderers, not become one of them and join in their bloodlust. Thinking everyone who does this kind of thing is just a "monster" is a lazy way of thinking. In the 1980's my aunt and her boyfriend were murdered by two serial killers. You would think I would wanted these two men put to death, but learning their own story made me feel a lot of empathy toward them. These brothers were raised in a household where their father forced them to rape their sisters or were beaten if they didn't. I can only imagine the horrors they suffered that would eventually turn them into the killers they became. In mind, they don't need the death penalty, they need help. They are clearly very broken people, but that doesn't mean they deserve to die. I wonder that whenever I read or see stories about murderers now. What did they go through that made them into that? How did they get broken so bad?

      wrong...wrong...
for a country founded on theft and genocide
this is why government is important...
      you need punishment..
USA is a vassal to world law and WEF for this reason too
The English philosopher Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) argued in his book Leviathan that, without government, life would be “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.
Hobbes, like Machiavelli, had a low view of human beings.
We are all basically selfish, driven by fear of death and the hope of personal gain, he believed.
All of us seek power over others, whether we realize this or not.
If you don’t accept Hobbes’ picture of humanity,
why do you lock the door when you leave your house?
Surely it’s because you know that there are many people out there who would happily steal everything you own?
But, you might argue, only some people are that selfish.
      Hobbes disagreed.
He thought that at heart we all are,
and that it is only the rule of law and the threat of punishment that keep us in check.
The consequence of this, he argued, was that if society broke down and you had to live in what he called ‘a state of nature’, without laws or anyone with the power to back them up, you, like everyone else, would steal and murder when necessary.
At least, you’d have to do that if you wanted to carry on living.
In a world of scarce resources, particularly if you were struggling to find food and water to survive, it could actually be rational to kill other people before they killed you.
In Hobbes’ memorable description, life outside society would be ‘solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short’.’

I agree with you but it looks like we are in the minority. I am in no way condoning the actions of murderers but aren’t we supposed to be above these animals ?? My condolences to the victim’s family but this is not right imo. (And yes, I’ve had someone in my life murdered-when I was 10 and she was 13, my best friend’s sister. She was raped, tortured and found in a duffel bag by a jogger-they think he was a serial killer but he was never caught.)
It destroyed everyone around her, including me but I still don’t understand the death penalty.

Either the spirtual advisor is lying or the mask was not airtight and just enough oxygen got through to sustain him enough to cause suffocation panic. Is this person the only one who described the execution in this way?

My heart was punctured - just punctured - not stabbed repeatedly like this guy’s innocent victim’s was. Do you know the sheer AGONY of feeling your blood escape your heart and run through your thoracic cavity and drain from your brain? It's not just localized pain - it is a piercing, unforgiving AGONY that totally engulfs your entire being!!! When Christ died on the cross, it was not the nails through His hands and feet, but the ruptured, torn heart that physically did Him in - that was the unspeakable horror and agony He felt. Unbearable! People who have not experienced a shot or stab to the heart, have no idea what torture is possible (gang members - be compassionate instead of being so quick and cocky to shoot or stab your rivals without thought of what they are going through and what you, yourself, will go through if you keep up stupid behavior). And it lasts a very, VERY long time, long after your body has stopped responding to stimuli. Happily, I lived to tell the tale, but it took two years of recovery. What this evil man did to this innocent woman - her horrific and terrifying ordeal lasted far more than 22 minutes. And, unlike him, she didn’t deserve it - so the fake compassion and sadness of the media or the guy’s ``spiritual leader`` can stuff their hypocrisy in the toilet where it belongs. I’m just glad Mr. Murderer got a small taste of what he worked so hard to dish out. I only hope that, in those few minutes he had left, that he repented from the depths of his soul for what he did to her. Eternity is a very long time to be arrogant and unrepentant.
