Then you get older and learn that many of the generic brands are the same thing, literally, and are manufactured by the same company. You are just paying more for branding.
When you’ve had eczema your WHOLE LIFE you’re def going to be using generic. It’s the same, probably even owner by the same company. A lot off off brands are. So no matter your view on “brands” they’re getting your money -_-
I've always gotten the Walmart branded Eczema Lotion. Never noticed a difference in quality to the name brand and it's so much cheaper. I recommend it to everyone.
@@sophieterry8175the only time my I bought the off brand (one was German brand, the other was my country’s own brand) my eczema actually got worse. So I would say it very much depends of the situation and the person
Lucky for me excema was so severe that my doctor had to do clinical trials and sent the results to a lab that created a special formula for me. Like that cream WORKED I still use it for everything I love it
Pro tip. I had eczema too. I bought a cream from pharmacy for about $ 1,5. Which did immediatelly, what the steroid cream never. In Europe you can ask the pharmasists for advice. Expensive not allways the best. It is unique what works for the individuals. I found that Lidl foot cream is great handcream when my eczema comes back in winter. Yes, foot cream. Its extremly good in hidrating. Body lotions never worked to me.
The generic has the exact same ingredients tho. Why is this daughter always tryna get this mom to spend extra money she may not have, and then acting like it’s abusive .?
So, as someone who gets really bad skin blotches from allergies and break outs, I can explain a bit about this. Not all of the generic brands share the exact same ingredients. But even if they do, the amount of each ingredient really matters. Chemical reactions aren't always replicated the same way when they don't use the exact same amount, or mixed it the same way. I had to realize this the hard way through trial and error. The Neutrogena brand is a big one for the off-brands not reacting the same way. That doesn't always mean the generic is bad though, funny enough it was a Walmart generic acne cream that finally got rid of my awful high school pizza face. I wish they still made it, unfortunately it was discontinued. Hope this helped clear some stuff up for ya about this topic.
When it comes to medications they legally have to have identical active ingredients in identical dosages. Only inactive ingredients like fillers can be different but the medicine is the same @@ricksanchezsflask8794
With medication the generic version has to havr the exact same active ingredeants by law. There can be minor differences in inactive ingredeants like fillers, flavorsz scents but the actual medicine is the same and works identicslly well in nearly all cases
When it comes to skincare products or feminine hygiene products, sometimes the namebrand is better than the generic brand. as someone was sensitive skin I budget out so I can get namebrand of those products because I know that the generic brand causes my body to break out in hives wherever it is touching and that can get very uncomfortable in certain spots
as someone who suffers from eczema especially during the dry months, use unscented oat milk based soaps and lotions! Use cold compresses for when it's itchy, or run cold(clean!) water on it.
As a person who has eczema that has been to the doctor multiple times about it and has literally asked the doctor at the generic brand and the on brand are the same and literally have said every time I go to the doctor I break out and hives if I use the brand, but if I use the actual brand, my eczema seems to be a little bit more controlled
I had to use aveeno on my son when he was baby / toddler.. oatmeal baths & all. I felt so bad for him, but that Aveeno works the very best. Thank goodness he grew out of it as he grew up. But I always felt so bad for him.
I firmly believe that the genetic brands are exactly the same as on brand. The only time I buy on brand products, is when it comes down to medication, or if it's products I'm use to getting on brand (like my shampoo).
Yeah... well, I used to agree... until there was a huge recall on the store brand and generic eye drops because they were made under unsanitary conditions and could cause damage to one's eyes. Soooo sometimes the generic brand is indeed fine, sometimes no.
Mom's right in this case. Usually the ingredients are exactly the same between name brand and generic. In fact, some factories which make name brand products also make the generic, just in different packaging.
I’ve never had trouble with generic brands, check for same ingredients and you amazingly get the same results at half the price. I learned from my time as a retail employee, it’s usually the same company selling you the generic product. It’s mostly leftovers from the name brand batches they give you. Also if the brand is so important to you, buy it with your own money. Strict parents aren’t as bad as your showing them, they’re just miserly about how much of their hard earned money is being spent and now they’re spending it on double the object.
When I become a mum I will never go out of my way to save a couple dollars on a product for a skin condition, yeah I’ll maybe do it for food or snacks but NEVER for something like eczema
I had a eczema flare when I was about 9/10, it was all red, bumpy, and itchy for a couple months. I told my mom eventually when it was way to unbearable and she bought me the generic one, I used it every morning and night and it went away in a months time. Never had eczema since!😁

I really don’t know why she is trying to put the mum in a bad light all the time. If this (and all her other videos) is based on real experiences then the daughter needs to understand the mum more. The mum might not be able to afford the branded version so looks for a cheaper alternative. She is still willing to buy something for her though.
