It might be a 2 minute walk to the terminal but it soon turns in to a 20 minute walk when you set up the camera and have to go back and collect it 😂 safe travels
I just go for a car hire excess policy whenever I rent in UK/EU. It’s only a couple of quid per day, and it covers your excess - as well as glass, tyres, underside etc (that most car hire companies specifically don’t cover on their own). Great video as always 👍
Also, for the Canaries be sure that the car renting company is reputable, there are many scammers out there sadly. Reputable companies include, obviously larger ones like Sixt (my recommendation as long as it‘s not much more expensive than others, especially for AmEx Platinum and/or PayBack/Miles and More users), Avis and Europcar but also local ones like TopCar and CICAR. Also, definitely rent a car if you want to explore the Canaries. Or perhaps explore them with a bike if you are used to it.
I always rent from reception at the Hotel. The last car I got in Tenerife at Landmar Los Gigantes around September 2022 was cash in hand and the guy told me to park it outside on the main street when I'm finished and leave the keys in the glovebox. No ID required no paperwork. Price of 35€ a day for a Kia Rio in decent condition.

Each to his own but ... I always travel with a zip-front, merino cardigan. Takes up no space and the zipper is your thermostat. And yes, I am watching the airport segment again.
Should take Autoreisen for car hire in canaries . No hidden charges and no deposit . 2euro per day for FULL insurance no questions asked after . Dont even need creditcard , just debitcard is fine . We rented a automatic skoda kamiq ( brand new! had 400km on it ) for 12 days , for less then 200 euros ( full insurance ) . They didnt even came to look at the car when we dropped the keys to the nice lady . Just make sure the gas is the same as when you got it . Best car rental we EVER had in Europe .
Tim you need to look into Car Hire Excess insurance, only a couple of quid a day and will cover you against the extortionate "repair costs" the hire companies threaten you with if you have an accident.

When I used to hire cars a lot, I got annual excess insurance cover for only £60 per year. I'm sure as an influencer you might be able to work with an insurance company. It used to make my blood boil hearing the hard sell on the excess insurance and told as many people I could about getting insurance cover independenty. Gives peace of mind!
Great video Tim. As you regularly use hire cars you should look into Hire Car Excess insurance. Coverwise have a yearly worldwide cover for just 30 quid a year and covers you for windscreen, scratches etc.
Hi Tim, I use Cabrera Medina/Cicar (same company) when I go to the canary islands, fully comp insurance and everything included, no deposit either. They've been great the few times I've used them, they don't even check the car when you hand it back. Might be worth a look?
Hi Tim, great video as always. Highly recommended Autoreisen car hire next time you go to the canaries. Went to TFS back in May and they were absolutely brilliant. Got a T-Cross for the week for about £70 with no hidden charges and took about 10 mins to get the car and even quicker returning. Food for thought for next time. 👍
I concur! Recently had a car rental with them at Gran Canaria, fast collection, not much queue, reasonable prices (I drove automatic cars - it's the cheapest amongst all providers) and very cheap excess insurance (EUR2 per day if I remember).
I like to see what different airports have on site and in there terminals Dublin has a church with a organ which is a electronic classic organ and Munich Airport has a real pipe organ in its chapel. I think some airports have some mad facilities lol.
Car Hire, I always use Cicar in the Canary Islands, insurances 100% full comprehensive without excess included in the price you pay easier car hire company to use.
Tim my top tip with car hire is excess insurance! Car hire companies can only charge your credit card the maximum amount when used as a deposit (even if you write the car off) excess insurance covers this cost if ever it happens. It’s cost me £14 for my week away in Portugal this week. Forget the car hire companies ripping you off and get excess covered. Hope this helps, love the video! 👍🏻

Now I’ve seen the hotel in the background I know where that is I cannot wait to see what has been done to the Hard Rock Hotel in Playa Parasio. I stopped in that building years ago on the 7th floor when it was the Fiesa Hotel Parasio Floral and th e sister hotel next door the Fiesta Hotel Oasis Parasio and my god it was a dive but I know it’s had so much investment over the years so cannot wait to see it. Great video Tim. Looking forward to the next one. !!!

Thanks for the tip on the quicker route for security and the Camden bar views. Didn't realise they had that on the upper floor will try that next time! Look forward to hotel reviews.

Whenever you rent a Fiat it brings a smile to my face thinking of you pulling up to that 7 star hotel in your hire fiat and every other car being a Bentley or Porsche.
Try cicar for car hire in the Canaries, used them a few times, never had an issue. All inclusive in the Islands, but added extras in mainland spain as far as I can remember.
I will now only use Cicar in the canaries, they are miles more pleasant to deal with, have zero upselling, no deposit and most of the time I check they are still the cheapest option. Plus the cars I’ve got from them have always been newish and well maintained.

Agree the Green parking is nice and close to the terminal building at Stansted, but the Blue parking is literally just another 50m walk and the price is often 20-25% less.
Traveling and watching ur videos are great I had someone in my seat and couldn’t get him out but snoring 💤 is loud lol and worse thing keep making those videos
My thoughts on the video: 1. Very entertaining. 2. The tanony guy so unwilling to sound interesting calling the gate. Always wanted to do that job! 3. Poor snoring guy! Maybe too much pop consumed? Sounded horrendous! 4. Gold Car really wanted that extra insurance. Well done for sticking to your guns! Hope it worked out.

you do not need to spend money for excess just do an excess insurance in the Uk most convenient is annual £40 for full cover for a year on any car you hire!! shop online there are many companies offering that to uk residents

Never traveled with Ryanair, hear really bad things about that airline, may consider one day to experience one of their flights, but we shall see? Visited Tenerife last year around June time which was a nice holiday & time out there, I think stayed in the same area you stayed in? Near round where Hard Rock Hotel is where you stayed was it? Nice area, didn't go up Hard Rock Hotel roof attraction at top as didn't know it was for both public & hotel guests. Thought it was only hotel guests only allowed up there, hoping on a future visit to experience aswell Siam Park? Did you experience Mount Teide? Its really good experience & place to visit, got nice photos from up there. Somewhere would again love to return to. Nice vlog, have liked & shared and again look forward to more vlogs in future. Cheers again. 😀👍

I agree. The pre-bookable excess insurance is always around £5-7 a day extra. The extra charges at the desk are criminal

Definitely recommend this, CiCar were fantastic when I used them and I even got a free upgrade worth about €300

For hire car, on Gran Canaria I've been using Cicar, all costs are included and fairly good price. I think they're on Tenerife too.

I would recommend trying out online excess car hire insurance - some as cheep as £2.50 per day… I usually do it when walking to the hire desk!
