Ok sure it ain’t the best. Maybe it’s the nostalgia. But unpopular opinion I actually dig it! Introducing the most known Pirate to ever live in a beloved series. And I think it’s better than deadmen tell no tales

@@Ksenia1988-e7z I mean yeah At Worlds End is an incredible conclusion. I just wish they made a new trilogy with a possible younger jack that line up with the books. Gives us visual lore so to say
I actually like this one a lot, it’s not a big epic follow-up with the original cast but it’s a great fun pirate adventure just like the first one. Didn’t deserve the hate at all imo
Nah see, I prefer the next one to this one. Everybody has different tastes, and that's what's essentally great about any movie in general. And, not knowing if you know this, but I saw on TH-cam, a video about Johnny Depp saying that if Disney would make a public appology, acknowledgeing that they fired him too hastily, he'd consider returning as Captain Jack Sparrow. So, here's hoping.
@@Harmthuria I doubt that's going to happen, but I guess you never know. I'm just not a big fan of the fifth film because while the premise is really cool it kind a break too much canon for me to enjoy it. Particularly around how the compass works. I'm also not sure what they were trying to set up for following movies but it didn't seem like it made much sense from what the end credit scene implies. I can still sit down and watch any of the movies no problem I don't think any of them were truly terrible or anything.
@@BiasFree I agree with you on the end credits scene. If all curses are broken, Davy Jones shouldn't be a squid faced captain anymore. And, I don't know why or how the compass made Salazar and his men free, but I really wished they'd elaborate on it in the next one. But sadly, there hasn't been a next one yet.
@@Harmthuriawasn't it explained in the 5th movie that when Jack betrays the compass, i.e. giving it away/up, his worst fear would be released? And all pirates worst fear was Salazar. Not sure tho, I saw it long ago so I could've been wrong
@@chase_j8750 I don't remember that either. But if that's the case, I would like to know why the compass works like that. P.S. I remember thinking, about the compass in the Curse of the Black Pearl, that the compass didn't point north, but instead it pointed to the island where the cursed gold was. This theory of mine was then shattered by it's sequel when they explained that the compass will point to whatever it is the holder wants most, but I wasn't bothered by it. I actually like that about it.
I'm so glad you enjoy this movie! I really love this movie and consider this as my second favorite Pirates of the Caribbean flick! I really, really, really like the addition of Mermaids in this movie. I believe this is the best and closest depiction of Mermaids in a movie! The bit when the leader Mermaid, Tamara (the Mermaid's name), began to sing 'My Jolly Sailor Bold' was sooo good! She isn't just singing to the pirates, she's basically calling out all the other Mermaids that dinner is served! With their beautiful voices, they lure sailors to the water and eat them. It's so terrifying, twisted, and amazing how they got it down in this movie! It's also said by a kiss from the Mermaids protects you from drowning. One thing to also note that in the mythology Mermaids are technically demons, and as we all know demons are liars. So the way how it ends with Philip and Syrena is up for the viewers to decide whether Philip is saved by Syrena or ultimately betrayed and eaten by the mermaid herself. What I believe, after seeing this movie more than 20 times, I think Syrena saves Philip since they actually love each other. Like the part when Jack was talking to Philip about wanting to convert to his religion you could see Syrena in the background staring at Philip and her hands pressed on the glass to his direction before she would end up suffocating in that glass box. The dialogue with them two also gives it away. I honestly like the relationship between Philip and Syrena compared to William and Elizabeth in the trilogy. I would go on about the whole Mermaid mythology here, but this isn't an essay so I'll save myself the trouble, lmfao. Anyways, I'm glad you enjoy this movie! Peace and chicken grease, dude!
Edward Teach or Thatch aka Blackbeard is considered one of the greatest Pirates of all time. He use to tie fuses into his beard and light them which made him even more terrifying in battle. I am pretty sure you would have found him pretty intimidating, whether his name is Edward or not. Great reaction as always, not the best pirates of the Caribbean movie, but I enjoyed it personally.
Second he said that there never was an intimidating Edward I was like....Blackbeard was a real dude named Edward. Then Edward the 2nd of England came to mind. Dude literally started the 100 Years War between England and France, just up and said nope I am King of France.
Yes he was such a good convincing villain . Even more than Davy Jones , Barbosa and Salazare. I mean by looking at him you know he is evil. At least Jones once loved a person and Barbosa cared for his daughter but Blackbeard let his daughter (whether he was certain she wad a daughter or not) die for him
7:00 That's Madam Judy Dench. She is a HUUUUGE Johnny Depp fan lol. They've been in a bunch of movies together. Him crashing her cart and seducing her is honestly a nod to her real life attraction to him lol
Honestly, I'm just a sucker for mermaids. If there are mermaids I will enjoy it. As a child this one was my favorite, now it still is (I like the first one better though, I think), But its still so much nostalgia. I had a whole pirate-themed birthday only because of this movie, it was a blast, and for me its the right amount of serious and stupid goofy pirate shenanigans lol
I don't understand the hate for this one either. I get that some were disappointed that will and Elizabeth weren't in it but it had Barbosa, Gibbs and most importantly, Jack. To me this one is still awesome and I love it.
It’s good but Will, Pintel, Ragetti, Marty all the original characters would have made it feel like real pirates of the Caribbean. They should have definitely tried to fit Will in this movie because him on the Flying Dutchman with Barbosa, and Jack trying to take down Blackbeard would have made it a better story in my opinion.
I really like the next one too. And I agree with you, some people don't like the amount of magical/sci-fi stuff in the last one, like what the hell did you think the first three were? realistic? lmao it's been a magic filled universe since the beginning.
My utter disappointment with the 5th is not due to magic or sci-fi, it's the absolute mishandling of Jack's character. He's always been a clever fool, that gets into poor circumstances, but is legitimately clever enough to sneak his way out. The 5th just has him as a bumbling, down on his luck idiot. SPOILERS: I like the idea of showing him washed out and struggling, that has potential for good development, but by waving away all of his accomplishments as just being lucky and that his actual luck ran out? Stupid. By having that happen by giving the compass away? AND they broke canon because he got the compass from Tia Dalma, not a random pirate. They also shoehorned Will and Elizabeth without actually giving their characters any weight or respect, Will looked terrible when he had full intent of fulfilling his duties as captain, and...it was a mess. There are some decent aspects, I don't full on hate it, but it is just...disappointing. They had a 6 year break between 4 and 5, that should have been PLENTY of time to write a really good script. Instead we had something that felt like a larger story crammed into one. The 5th could have been a setup, with Jack in prison, washed out, kind of given up. Barbossa in the service, but searching for his daughter, perhaps getting sentimental knowing he is nearing the end of his violent life. Have Henry searching for his father, both giving a nice familial theme. This movie would see Barbossa searching for Jack to get his compass to find his daughter, Henry searching for Jack because that's his lead to find/save his father, and Jack regaining purpose and life throughout. Let the film end with a conflict between Sal and the crew, possessing Henry (another thing made out to be a big deal in the movie that ended up meaning nothing), and we end with a cliff hanger that would pull Elizabeth back in to save her son, Jack realizing this unresolved ghost from his past (who maybe killed Jack's dad between 4 and 5, just to give extra motivation for him), and Barbossa trying to be better for his daughter, heading for a final journey and conflict in the 6th film that sees WIll's supernatural crew against Sal, Henry saving his father, Barbossa sacrificing himself, and Jack finally regaining his oopmh and...I'm not sure. But if I had 6 years to write I could certainly do so. So I don't hate it, but I miss what could have been
I absolutely despise the next one. Subpar VFX, Johnny Depp forgets he is playing Jack Sparrow and not The Mad Hatter, two shallow, uncharismatic and underwritten leads, a twist that completely changes a fan favorite character before killing them off and an ending that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Absolutely agree. People complained about this movie SOOO much when it came out for having mermaids and the fountain of youth and the ropes of black beards ship under his control. I kept saying, Like WTF. do you remember them saving Jack from the dead with a million stone crabs he surfed his ship upon after flipping a ship upside down and the right side up in the ocean to make it there and back? Like obviously its incredibly realistic.
No, problem with the last one is that they "forgot" everything they established. ALL of the lore were rewritten. It doesn't work like that, you CAN"T rewrite all the established things.
Alex, i am presuming it was sarcasm. But the king looks like dudleys dad because he is dudleys dad🤣🤣🤣 its Richard Griffiths lol. Great video once again!!
This one sets up the final movie and how could they do a pirate series and not include Blackbeard? He was the real thing, scary enough. The smoke coming from his beard is something the real Blackbeard did to freak people out.
2:00 I used to get jumpscared like this when I was a kid😂, now that I am older unfortunately not anymore😭... I can see the jumpscare from a mile a way... But to be honest I wish I could still feel and get jumpscared like before. That was amazing ALEX😎. I loved it!
funny how back then, just having an additional sequel was bad, and nowadays we are drowning in movies so terrible that this would be a good one in comparisen
31:40 Blackbeard was a real pirate and his name was actually Edward Teach. He was one of the most feared pirates of his time and one of the most successful as he operated a fleet of ships rather than just one. His flagship, Queen Anne's Revenge, rest at Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina. She was run aground and abandoned. Now the wreck is a registered historical site and popular tourist site. I could have gonna on a glass bottom speed boat to see it but i was the only one at the family reunion that wanted to go. I was one of about 4 people there under 20, most were over 50.
Not only that but Blackbeards pirate days didn’t last very long. Only about a year and a half. Yet 300 years later and we still are talking about him. He was an intimidating man and stood about 6’4. We don’t really know if he was as violent as books or stories make him out to be. He was definitely cruel though. He liked marooning people on deserted islands. He would drink rum with gunpowder in it as if lighting wicks tied to his beard on fire wasn’t scary enough.. Queen Anne’s revenge was actually a slave ship that he “commandeered” to use for pirate activities. In Virginia there’s a place called Blackbeards point at the Hampton river entrance. It’s named this because they put Blackbeards decapitated head on a stake at the mouth of the river to warn other pirates or criminals. With all that being said. He’s definitely the most famous and intimidating pirate to ever walk the earth.
I love all of these Potc movies. They each have a great story line. Will and elizabeth arent in this because, Elizabeth was raising her son and Will was deep in the ocean seeing to Davy's Locker. They come back into it in the next one when their son goes looking for Will. To find Poseidons Trident to break the spell over Will.
I actually liked the 4th and 5th. It was just different. I liked the Blackbeard story and the mermaids. And each movie had supernatural/fantasy elements… Like skeletons, undead, zombies, mermaids and those weird fish things on Davy jones crew… so yeah…
I think I remember during this movie Penelope Cruz (correct?), aka Angelica, is pregnant...which makes the last scene with Jack and her hysterical to me.
Exactly! In the 5th film he got the Luke Skywalker treatment - before TLJ had even come out yet! But it was just as destructive to a lead protagonist nevertheless. Unrecognizable. Henceforth the story itself follow.
Genuinely my second favourite from the franchise after the first one. I prefer one and four's mix of comedy/seriousness than the more darker tones of the (still fantastic) second and third films, even if those ones probably are more well made compared to four. Good to see Alex form his own opinion on this. I'm totally cool with people disliking films that I like, as long as they are being honest about their thoughts and not just hopping on a particular bandwagon.
This movie may not hold a candle to the trilogy but it introduces my favorite secondary character and villain in the franchise: the Spaniard. He cannot be reasoned with, he cannot be negotiated, he cannot be swayed. He goes in, does his thing, wins, and leaves. The pirates were but a minor inconvenience. Talk about efficient.
I think the main reason why I actually really love this movie and is probably my top three pirates of the Caribbean’s is because of the music. The theme that is used throughout this movie especially when they first see the fountain of youth is just so fucking beautiful. Also, the mermaid scene is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series.
You didn't seem to catch why was philip fine after supposedly cutting his throat. Cause they didn't cut his throat, they cut his chest, and tranqed him at the same time, so that he comes back.
Alex never heard of Edward Teach? aka Blackbeard? wtf?!?!?! even people with no interest in pirates have heard of HIM. Also Navy SEAL Team 3 using Blackbeard flag as a patch
This movie is based on an excellent book by Tim Powers, also called "On Stranger Tides." The cover of the book is a pirate skeleton at the helm of his pirate ship. The book was EXCELLENT! Voodoo, evil ghosts latching themselves to people like lampreys, a climactic ghost battle between two sunken pirate ships whose vaporous ship-ghosts latch themselves to ships full of living pirates. It's BITCHIN! I especially loved Blackbeard, with his smoking embers in his beard to keep his ghosts at bay while he tries to steal the secrets to immortality at any cost. Bleackbeard was such a good villain that we learn to dread him with every page but don't even meet him till the second half of the book. Read it, if you get the chance! When I saw the first Pirates movie, I was sure that it was going to be based on that book. It wasn't Still a great movie, though. This movie is okay but there's almost nothing good from the book. It's just a movie with silly Jack Sparrow and, oh yeah, a little Blackbeard.
I feel like the whole series was inspired by Tim Powers’ voodoo pirate novel right from the start, even if they only secured the rights to the book after the first film had come out, you can already see a lot of story elements and character types that seem lifted from On Stranger Tides in the original film. The other source people say the screenwriters took inspiration from was the Monkey Island video games, but according to the creator of the games they were also inspired by Powers’ novel (as well as the Disney theme park ride.)
I might be wrong but i think Johnny said once the had 7 pirates movie written and he wanted to play Jack as long as he could. Then, the Amber shit happend and they stopped at 5... for now
That little island that Angelica was left on was Palominito off the coast of Puerto Rico. I've been there. They wanted to film in the Caribbean but there aren't very many pristine beaches not taken up by some kind of resort.
I’m a car designer. Sometimes when I’m working I’ll just put on one of your videos. It doesn’t matter what movie it is your always entertaining to hear! Definitely one of the best movie react channels out their in my opinion. And I’ve listened to a lot. All thanks to your charisma. Keep it up man!
I like this one, I don't get why people don't like it, mostly because all the nostalgia boners want to see the original cast for 10 straight movies and cry like children when they don't. lol I for one really enjoy this one's plot, effects, acting, and a lot of it in general.
For me it's more-so that I like overarching stories and such. This one feels more like the first movie to me, in that it's just a rompy fun film. There's nothing wrong with that per-se, but it just isn't for me. 2 and 3 are really what made the series for me. That being said, I haven't watched anything after this one. So if it was just building up to another "set" of movies, so-to-speak, then I'll like it more once I eventually getting around to watching those. But if each movie is just sort of "it's own thing" then I won't care for them much.
I like it because it's Jack, to me he has always been the center of the franchise anyway. And even though people don't actually say it it is hated because it feels like a soft reboot and Will/Elizabeth didn't show up/could've been gone from the franchise at the time. There's nothing wrong with hating a movie or show/specific season because of one actor/actress in my opinion but it's better to be direct instead of making up excuses that it's because of the side characters and etc.
31.42 “There has never been an intimidating Edward” Except for the actual historical Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard, the notorious pirate who supposedly did light pieces of fuse in his beard to give himself a demonic appearance to his adversaries.
I'm absolutely obsessed with your content Alex, you are entertainment GOLD, was just curious if you have considered uploading 4K quality videos? I noticed they are capped at 1080p...?
PLEASE tell me you do realize Jack's Dad is played by the legendary KEITH RICHARDS of THE ROLLING STONES!!! (After whom JD based his character, CJS, on) 🙄 Also, that early scene with the chandelier is where he threw the chair and injured his back.. he spoke of this in his testimony, explaining that is when he was initially prescribed that oxy crapola....
To be honest as a long time pirates fan, I didn't know that this film existed until like 4 years ago. I didn't think it was as bad as people say it is, but it still has many shortcomings. My favorite part of the movie was the intro though.
Will and Elizabeth were good but they got frustrating to watch. They were some of the two of the best skilled pirates who kept forgetting they were lying underhanded pirates who sometimes lied and told half truths as pirates do. They kept forgetting Captain Jack's line that you can be a good person and a bloody scallywag pirate. Their story was over. This just expanded the world in a good way. It isn't a part of the trilogy, it's just more good in-universe lore from the ride. The next one really goes off the rails and commits the number one worst movie sin of breaking the in-universe rules (like Disney's Star Wars Sequels did)
These last two Pirates movies get far too much hate. Are they great movies? No, are they terrible movies? Also no. People like to compare them with the first 3 which is just mind-blowingly stupid.
13:10 a big reason to why people don’t like it is because they tried to make more pirates of the Caribbean after the ending of At Worlds End was already a good ending. I think this movie could have been better if they showed a battle between Barbosa and the crew fighting it out on the pearl against the queen and Revenge which would end with Barbosas leg getting cut off. In that scene they would also have Marty, Pintel, Ragetti, and the 2 former navy soilders (can’t remember there names) but the end of the battle would show Barbosa and the 2 soilders in a row boat getting away, while Ragetti, Pintel, and Marty get forced into Blackbeards crew. They could have also had Will with the Dutchman trying to take down Blackbeard as well. Just so many parts they could have added in to make this film a lot better.
You made my day with the "buttery crispy flake" clip... me and my old roommate used to yell "flakey!" At each other all the time and the general public just thought we were insane 😅
It's pretty cool movie to watch, but it doesn't compare with the previous 3 ones. However, next, the 5th movie it's quite interesting because (SPOILER - it will reveal the secret of Will's curse and not only his). So thank you a lot for your reaction, it was nice to watch❤ For the future reactions, it would be interesting to see an incredible series of films - The Hunger Games ✨
I personally didn't hate the movie, I watched it in the cinema. What I hate is that they changed the VA for the German synchronization, and that took away a lot of excitement.
I hit the 'Thumbs-up' icon, 'cause I LOVE your Reaction(s) and wanna show my support! This movie? I walked out of the theater during it. (The 'Leaping from palm tree to palm tree bit.') Nope. There's only so much I can take before the bad writing rips any sense of enjoyment out of any movie, and that did it for me. Looking forward to watching your next Reaction in this Series however! :-)
I disagree heartily. 5 just feels nothing like a pirates movie to me. The comedy is all off. There’s really no wit or charm to it at all. It feels so sanitized. The biggest issue is obviously that Jack isn’t Jack in the 5th one, but the new leads aren’t charismatic whatsoever (not saying the pasty pair in 4 are much better) and the returning characters aren’t given proper justice either imo. Barbossa is much better in this one than he is with the inexplicable long-lost daughter subplot in the next one. His PTSD retelling of how the Pearl and his leg were lost is such an underrated scene (I especially loved that they played the leitmotif for the Cursed Crew in the background for it near the end, that was a nice touch). Speaking of, the music is much better in this one, with Rodrigo y Gabriela lending their talents to spice up the sound and give it that Spanish/flamenco feel. Helps that Han’s Zimmer did the score for 4 whereas one of his students did merely a serviceable job for the next one. The mermaid sequence alone I think is better than anything from the 5th film.
@@Heida77 i didn’t watch it, i clicked just to make that comment. and holy shit how offended were you that you had to reply in such a way? it’s not the end of the world.

I saw this movie in 3D after coming back from spending several hours on a boat, and I still had sea legs, so it legit felt like I was on a pirate ship the whole time.
if I had to rank the movies in how much I liked them this is what I would say: 1. Curse of the black Pearl (its iconic) 2. At worlds End (the scene where Elizabeth and Will get married to die for) 3. Dead Men Tell No tales (its just so good in my opinion) 4. Dead Mens Chest (is good just something was missing for me) 5. On Stranger Tides (I don't even want to talk about this one okay Hate Hate Hate Double Hate LOATHE ENTIRELY) that's my ranking. This whole entire franchise is good (minus on Stranger Tides) and just brings me so much nostalgia. :)))))
One of my favorite things about the original trilogy is that it takes place in such a whimsical yet dark world full of random fantasyical things like Krakens and magic.
A big part of why I enjoyed this movie, and the whole franchise so much really, was because of the way it featured so much sailor folklore. I came from a family of seafarers, so I was very well-versed in my country's sailor folklore. So it was just natural that I was very interested in sailor folklore of other countries and I loved seeing similarities and parallels with my own country's. So the stuff about the black pearl, Davy Jones, the Flying Dutchman, the Kraken, the Fountain of Youth, Mermaids, I really enjoyed it all. Especially the bit about the mermaids. Fun fact! A kiss from a mermaid can actually give one the ability to breath under water.

@@chrispipes5451 That is pretty cool, sounds like it will be a fun trip.
Second he said that there never was an intimidating Edward I was like....Blackbeard was a real dude named Edward.
Then Edward the 2nd of England came to mind. Dude literally started the 100 Years War between England and France, just up and said nope I am King of France.
Reminds me of marshall d teach blackbeard from one piece
Yes he was such a good convincing villain . Even more than Davy Jones , Barbosa and Salazare. I mean by looking at him you know he is evil. At least Jones once loved a person and Barbosa cared for his daughter but Blackbeard let his daughter (whether he was certain she wad a daughter or not) die for him
wdym considered one of the greatest pirates of all time? Is that referenced in any of the first 3 movies?
7:00 That's Madam Judy Dench. She is a HUUUUGE Johnny Depp fan lol. They've been in a bunch of movies together. Him crashing her cart and seducing her is honestly a nod to her real life attraction to him lol
That's hilarious, I love her even more now lol
Honestly, I'm just a sucker for mermaids. If there are mermaids I will enjoy it. As a child this one was my favorite, now it still is (I like the first one better though, I think), But its still so much nostalgia. I had a whole pirate-themed birthday only because of this movie, it was a blast, and for me its the right amount of serious and stupid goofy pirate shenanigans lol
This movie inspired me to write my mermaid series. I am obsessed as well
I don't understand the hate for this one either.
@@DougRussel-ht5jf The thing is, Will is actually doing his job on the Dutchman, and not abandoning his post like Davy Jones.
I really like the next one too. And I agree with you, some people don't like the amount of magical/sci-fi stuff in the last one, like what the hell did you think the first three were? realistic? lmao it's been a magic filled universe since the beginning.
didn't they also rise a goddess in the 3rd one too? I think that ppl just try to find a reason to be a hater
SPOILERS:
I like the idea of showing him washed out and struggling, that has potential for good development, but by waving away all of his accomplishments as just being lucky and that his actual luck ran out?

I loved it!
Probably not going to win a prize for the weirdest hobby, but I collect second-hand wedding dresses.
Mermaids are unacceptable but a fish man with octopus tentacles for a beard and crab hand is acceptable? Both are unrealistic.
The eye blink (and noises) for the “plants and parrots” comments at the beginning got me, bro.. spit take type laughter, for whatever reason. 😂😂
funny how back then, just having an additional sequel was bad, and nowadays we are drowning in movies so terrible that this would be a good one in comparisen
Hot take but it’s actually my favorite one 🤣
Thank you. It's my favourite one too.
Same
One of mine!
Not my favorite Pirates movie, but It absolutely slaps!
“There has never been an intimidating Edward”, well… Edward Teach, Blackbeard was faaaaairly intimidating back in the day, even in how he died.
I actually liked the 4th and 5th. It was just different. I liked the Blackbeard story and the mermaids. And each movie had supernatural/fantasy elements…
Like skeletons, undead, zombies, mermaids and those weird fish things on Davy jones crew… so yeah…
Don't forget an actual GOD - Calypso
ian McShane was great as Blackbeard
I think I remember during this movie Penelope Cruz (correct?), aka Angelica, is pregnant...which makes the last scene with Jack and her hysterical to me.
And badass. Fight scenes and enduring potential seasickness and morning sickness at the same time
Hey it might not be that good, and has a list of flaws as long as the east coast, but at least Jack acts like Jack in this one.
How have I just noticed that the King is Mr. Dursley. And that the old woman in the carriage is Dame Judy Dench.
“Are you wearing a top?” Mermaid: “Yes.” 🤣
I think the main reason why I actually really love this movie and is probably my top three pirates of the Caribbean’s is because of the music. The theme that is used throughout this movie especially when they first see the fountain of youth is just so fucking beautiful. Also, the mermaid scene is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series.
That IS Dudley's Dad!
It wasn't
Still a great movie, though.
This movie is okay but there's almost nothing good from the book. It's just a movie with silly Jack Sparrow and, oh yeah, a little Blackbeard.
I'll definetly add this one to my list. You're description made an excelent work at captivating me
I feel like the whole series was inspired by Tim Powers’ voodoo pirate novel right from the start, even if they only secured the rights to the book after the first film had come out, you can already see a lot of story elements and character types that seem lifted from On Stranger Tides in the original film.
The other source people say the screenwriters took inspiration from was the Monkey Island video games, but according to the creator of the games they were also inspired by Powers’ novel (as well as the Disney theme park ride.)
Looks like uncle Vernon because it is uncle Vernon, may he rest in peace 🕊️
"I'm just being a Jackass"
-Alex, the truth speaker.
Also Black Beard is the most iconic pirate figure that ever lived in REAL life.
The ,,Asshole Uncle'' is actually played by the same actor so kinda spot on lol
I might be wrong but i think Johnny said once the had 7 pirates movie written and he wanted to play Jack as long as he could. Then, the Amber shit happend and they stopped at 5... for now
Another callback is that Blackbeard is also the manager of the Continental in John Wick
This is definitely one of my favorites, I don't care what anyone say. The mermaids were bad ass 😌
Yes they are!
That little island that Angelica was left on was Palominito off the coast of Puerto Rico. I've been there. They wanted to film in the Caribbean but there aren't very many pristine beaches not taken up by some kind of resort.
You should do Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit and Teen Wolf!! My favourite is the Harry Potter ones you did!

I like this one, I don't get why people don't like it, mostly because all the nostalgia boners want to see the original cast for 10 straight movies and cry like children when they don't. lol
I for one really enjoy this one's plot, effects, acting, and a lot of it in general.
Side characters were mostly shit in 4. Not that hard to understand why this is the worst
I like it because it's Jack, to me he has always been the center of the franchise anyway.
And even though people don't actually say it it is hated because it feels like a soft reboot and Will/Elizabeth didn't show up/could've been gone from the franchise at the time.
There's nothing wrong with hating a movie or show/specific season because of one actor/actress in my opinion but it's better to be direct instead of making up excuses that it's because of the side characters and etc.
agreed. that's what fast furious franchise does and ppl want to see that "family" stuff going on and on and on
31.42 “There has never been an intimidating Edward”
Except for the actual historical Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard, the notorious pirate who supposedly did light pieces of fuse in his beard to give himself a demonic appearance to his adversaries.

Yeah there are always people who hate movies,tv shows etc. And criticize it like they made a movie themselves.
I was surprised to hear that people hated this one, this one is my favorite.
I honestly didn't care for the relationship in the first 3.
PLEASE tell me you do realize Jack's Dad is played by the legendary KEITH RICHARDS of THE ROLLING STONES!!! (After whom JD based his character, CJS, on) 🙄
Also, that early scene with the chandelier is where he threw the chair and injured his back.. he spoke of this in his testimony, explaining that is when he was initially prescribed that oxy crapola....
The next one really goes off the rails and commits the number one worst movie sin of breaking the in-universe rules (like Disney's Star Wars Sequels did)
Lol. the title changed from when I seen it on the main page to actually opening it 😅
The weirdest hobby I have is watching your reactions. LOL. You always make me laugh, and I really liked this movie. I loved all POTC movies.
“I would have been drowned. I accept that”
These last two Pirates movies get far too much hate.
Alex constantly missing context for movies is one of the funniest things of this channel 😂

Nah, the 5th one is way worse.
@@a_fine_edition2746 I heavily disagree! The 5th one was also not great but it was def better than the 4th one
Lmao somehow I hadn't noticed that WHENEVER there's a character's "surprise" appearance, it's always Barbosa 😂

if I had to rank the movies in how much I liked them this is what I would say:
1. Curse of the black Pearl (its iconic)
2. At worlds End (the scene where Elizabeth and Will get married to die for)
3. Dead Men Tell No tales (its just so good in my opinion)
4. Dead Mens Chest (is good just something was missing for me)
5. On Stranger Tides (I don't even want to talk about this one okay Hate Hate Hate Double Hate LOATHE ENTIRELY)
that's my ranking.
The only thing that comes to mind for that word: Scallywag, is from The Golden Girls: "Rose Nylund, you scallywag!"
