This is the first "train like" mens health video I've seen in a while where the star doesn't look juiced to holy hell and talking about how he did it all with chicken and broccoli. David actually looks like a genuine natty dude just grinding it out which is awesome for us average joes to see. This seems way more attainable for most gym goers
I havent came across many at all that have juiced up guys. Truthfully, I train harder than 90% of these dudes and look better than 90% of them body-wise. And I only take creatine. Mens health has a lot of regular looking dudes.
I was actually in the Army and this is a really good workout that hits every single part of the body. Most of these videos on Men's Health are really bad and the people have no idea what they're doing. I was very impressed by the trainer who clearly knew what he was doing and talking about, as well as David for following the instructions and having the toughness to stick with the workout I think you would have done just fine in the Army or the Marines or if you wanted to special operations.
Kinda crazy how much this resembles my own workout! I'm a former army paratrooper and I had a significant shoulder reconstruction surgery back in 2012, and I deployed to Afghanistan 2 years later. I absolutely love cables and dumbell exercises, with the one-arm cable row and landmine press variations being my favorites. Now, nearly 10 years removed from my time in service, I emphasize a lot of lateral movements with bands like Mr Boreanaz was doing for his warmup. I can't speak to SEAL training--those guys are in a physical league beyond what I could *ever* imagine--but as an airborne infantry dude who deployed POST shoulder surgery, I gotta say he's holding it down and doing a great job representing veterans on screen and working out like one to boot! Great video. Thank you Men's Health!
I am 54 years old, served in the military for 21 years. Did a lot of work out of my career. And at my age right now, I usually work out four days a week. I try to do some kind of hard physical workout, but not going too crazy. Just doing it to maintain.
SEAL TEAM outstanding show. Big fan. It's great seeing David working out. This gave me tips as I have shoulder problems at present, and I like using the iso stretch bands . Top work from an incredible actor.
Given how he was doing those basic bicep curls in the beginning montage (form could be much better), I can see why he's had all the shoulder injuries. Unless his shoulder injuries are the reason his form was "less than ideal". I would imagine that no matter how much money you make, a truly competent trainer is really hard to find. But good on him for maintaining his health over all! Put all that Bones $$$$ to good use;)!!
Big fan of David, originally from Bones but I am also a big fan of Seal Team ( whipers😏 ..I love military shows/movies) 😉 Fun to see his workout routine.
Why? You realize it's tailored for a role right? And that role isn't being a bodybuilder, or an endurance athlete or a Navy SEAL. It's for shooting scenes. That's it. He has to replicate some things on camera, repeatedly for months on end, every year, it's tailored towards facilitating literally that.
This trainer is lost. If his shoulders are torn, he should be doing all those twitch movements. The reality is that he needs it fixed. Working it out more will only make it worse.
Pretty sure that's intentional. High intensity is mostly overrated and unnecessary. Intensity is important, but intensity without specific purpose is a waste time and energy
Someone please tell Ray to not skip leg days and decrease his bodybuilder upper body. It restricts his freedom of movement and simply looks like a box.
“Protect our country.” Talk to the many veterans that are suffering and forgotten today. It’s no longer freeing the world from tyranny but oil/resources. Don’t believe me? Are they helping the millions of Americans that are unable to financially survive? That should be the first goal.
no one is trying to look like this guy. this guy looks nothing like someone in devgru or SOF. the workout is a joke; men's health is a joke. this workout would be fine if it was just to get someone moving but not for someone portraying a seal or worse someone in devgru
They need to do a video with the whole cast of SEAL Team and their workouts

Very motivating seeing guys 50 and up working out and staying in shape.
I looked him up, he's 55. Much respect for being in that kind of shape.

Great video. Thank you Men's Health!
He's not lean enough. He's half assing it, and his trainer allows it.
@@oldnatty61 he is supposed to look like an operator, not a bodybuilder
@@GH0ST_D0G.95 Well he doesn't look like either. And that's why somewhere in here I recommended he reach out to Stew Smith.
We must have been in different Armies?
@@oldnatty61 Yes.
I didn't expect David to exercise so intensely. It truly takes effort to achieve the tenacity of a SEAL!
One of my all time favourite shows
watch strike back

Gonna miss “Seal Team”, fun show!🙏🏾

Hes in awesome shape. Not too super jacked but jacked and functional
He still has the Bravo 1 aura even off screen lol
Love the mantra at the end. Wish more actors followed that.

To me, he'll always be Angel.
The way he talks is just absolutely as the character…. FLAWLESS

He’s a vampire why does he need to train lol
You talking about Angel?
You talking about Angel?
@@CalvinMilledge yep
I like how hes just doing it natural.
Finally, an honest workout video!
Huge fan of Angel, my favorite show 🧛
Same.
but WHO'S GONNA CARRY THE BOATS ,bring a training video of that guy
Great Job David I go to Gym every Morning at 4:00 Am
You have to have a lot of dedication and focus to work like that and look as good as if you were still in your 30s. I love David and his work.
Angel!!
Angel AKA Angelus
Whose also a vampire.
Been waiting 15 years for this!
Great motivation and glad to see DB on MH - thanx for the tips!
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Love this Show!
Wow you have prepared well the result is fantastico
Can't wait for the last season to start here in the UK

It's so nice to see you here
Bravo 1 easy day workout
Please do more videos with seal team actors 🙏🏻
ANGEL
Funny how in the show we think he’s acting being injured in reality he is just actually injured😭
That’s Master Chief Jason Hayes
AJ Buckley (Sonny) has transformed his body. Should have done him.
Need the workout and fridge for all the cast of SEAL team
Bravo 1 💪
Awesome Actor Awesome Show
Gym and fridge this man!
Please arrange a gym and fridge tour with Joe Manganiello.
Wait... Isn't that the Horse from "Horsin' Around"?
3 rounds of the full workout or only 3 rounds of the knee raises?
Need Dr Mike to review this 😂
Damn... thats a nice setup.
Bravo 1 workout 😂😂😂 let's get it
He's a vampire with a soul. That's why he doesn't age.
Wasn't he in Bones?
motivation 💪
Very bad workout and techniques but great attitude 🙌🏻 the show is awesome

I remember saying very specifically, to drink water and train.
I wonder if Tyler had some influence on Angel's transformation lmao
he should do some yoga it's great for flexibility and mobility
Jason Hayes is fire
How is he still having that Bravo 1 auro when he's not playing Bravo 1? It's like Ryan playing deadpool
Angel
This the sude from Bones?!
Angel: Seal Team
Men's Health we I want LL Cool J
I badly wish I could afford a personal trainer, I am probably dying at this point from my weight and resulting health.
The real reason incline pushups easier to do😂
Boxing is the worst thing you can do for that shoulder injury,do some changes David .
Try cardio in the pool
Angel Angel.
My guys legs need work
He almost said “work the problem”
I enjoyed his hotel video a lot 😏
EQUIPE SEAL 👍
This trainer is lost. If his shoulders are torn, he should be doing all those twitch movements. The reality is that he needs it fixed. Working it out more will only make it worse.
They know that. With the show ending, just staying upright until filming and press is over.
Probably didn't take the time to get in shape prior to filming. And the band work is done incorrectly
Did i just see this guy using poles.
Some bad techniques in this video, making personal trainers look bad lol
Lot of the Hollywood ones are
I love watching dr. Mike criticize the Hollywood trainers. Someone needs too
While they bring down that hollywood 💵. Pretty much all the vids I see of celebs getting trained it's like this.
We aren’t all bad either 😂
None of us are perfect bro. Besides we have to adjust things for it to work for us. What works for you might not work him
Can't believe how low intensity this is.
Pretty sure that's intentional. High intensity is mostly overrated and unnecessary. Intensity is important, but intensity without specific purpose is a waste time and energy
I personally can't wait for Dr. Mike Israetel to tear this apart lol
Crazy that trainer probably getting paid insane money for that nonsense lol
Forreal
Someone please tell Ray to not skip leg days and decrease his bodybuilder upper body. It restricts his freedom of movement and simply looks like a box.
My work out is way harder & im 62
you can see that he is not in good shape❤
This is a guy with a terrible trainer. Weak workout.
All of 'em are like this? I should move out there and make some real 🍞

This is giving Tom Ellis' awful trainer. David's lucky he's not hurt himself doing this work out!
bla bla bla....he realy think that he is the SEAL????
I'm not sure why he's paying this trainer because his technique is horrible. His arms and legs look like they've never lifted a weight in their lives.
Not true at all, this guy is doing it natural and he is not the youngest, for his age he looks very well.
