  • Senior National Corporate Trainer, Ian Mayer-Marszalek, takes us through a step-by-step tutorial on creating natural looking lightened ends when working with voluminous, textured and curly hair! This technique, often called dappling or hand painting, works by scrunching lightener into the ends of curly hair!
    Have you tried this "hands-on" technique? What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

    I've been looking for something simple I can do myself to "disguise the silvers" (or at least distract from them!) in my dark brown black hair, without having to do a boring all over single color die again. This is exactly what I wanted. And so easy! I can't wait to try it tonight. Thank you!

    Does this work for 3b/3c hair?

      Great question! So with tighter coily curls; a shoe shine technique would spread the lightner with more control than dappling / scrunching the curls. A great artist to follow with more curl tips is our Guest Artist Brittney @brittanywiththebluehair on Instagram. She's full of great info and is an amazing artist. I hope that this helps!

    I like this and know that this is what I have been attempting to convey to my hairstylist for a long time. Sadly, again, I ended up getting babylights which look awful in my curly hair and I'm now searching online for how I can fix my hair on my own at home. Does this technique need a glaze added to it once the hightlighter chemicals have been washed out??

      Great question. Just like all highlighting techniques after a few weeks toners fade away from the hair leaving the exposed raw lift. It is recommended to get a toner/glaze every 4-6 weeks depending upon how fast it may wash out. I hope that this helps! ♥♥

      Than you for this tutorial. Could you please make a video what it looks like when styled sleek? I like to straighten my hair from time to time. Thank you

      @@danawhite9449this technique is only designed for people who wear their hair curly all of the time. It won’t look right on sleek hair due to how the color is applied. If you plan to wear your hair straight balayage would work better.

    How long do you leave it on?!

    • @SchwarzkopfProfessionalUSA
      @SchwarzkopfProfessionalUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Great question, It all depends upon what the client goal is. This is an open air technique and not in foils, so it may have a longer processing time. Do note that after about 45 min the lightener starts to weaken so if you need additional lift you will need to do a second application. I hope that this helps! 🖤

    Isn't this called clouding?
