I watched this last night and was convicted by this message. This morning I prayed to open my heart more. A few hours later I pulled into a gas station and saw a young couple, obviously quite needy with a sign asking for a gallon of gas for their huge decrepit van. I was going to give them a gallon but heard the Lord tell me to help them. I offered to fill both tanks which they didn't want to do but I insisted and gave them a bit of money. They spoke very little English but were overwhelmed. They told me they were Romanian. Here in suburban Southern California. I thought of you dear Father and thanked God for the opportunity to assist someone so soon after being convicted about my somewhat hardened heart. Thank you Father Seraphim

Thank you Fr for speaking up, this needs to be said and spoken about by all the world, All Christians should be praying for those souls. Our parish said Mass dedicated to refugees and asylum seekers last night. I work with the asylum seekers in the UK and these beautiful souls are suffering greatly especially when they hear about these tragic and preventable deaths. ❤ God bless you Fr and all brothers and sisters of this world 🙏

Atunci sa explicat : bogatul sia luat plata in viata si va merge la iad, monahul a dus viata grea cu multe lipsuri si sfirshitul lui a fist tragic si a mers la Rai in Imparatia Domnului!

I comment very rarely on TH-cam, but I had to in this case. Not only did you absolutely show me my fallen nature and sin, by this example, but you also showed me in vivid terms the truth of of what it means to be a follower of Christ. I get endlessly lost in analysing doctrine, theology, and other such contentions, when I really needed to turn my face to this. Thank you humbly, Father.

Brother Seraphim. Thank you for exposing the pride I thought was absent within me. To my shame, it was there at your mention of the 'west'.
I cling to the Word regarding matters of the world, to which Jesus spoke to His disciples regarding it in John 16:33.
"I have told you this so that you might have peace in Me. In this world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world."
The Holy Spirit is at work through you. Be blessed as well.

This is very common among developed nations. Where death of a celebrity or politician gets more attention and coverage than hundreds poor people who died tragically. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings about this.

I was thinking along similar lines myself actually, thank you so much for spreading awareness on this issue as there's so many people struggling and getting no attention or media coverage or lobbyists or political pandering and yes just like you said, 5 people at the bottom of the ocean, to see the titanic where all the rich people got the life rafts and the poor died in the ocean with the sinking ship, its truly saddening to see people react in the way they do. As Jesus said, (matthew 6:24) "no one can serve two masters. Either you will hate one and love the other, or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money"

The antichrist is trying to make us lose hope, trying to make us lose sight of all the wonderful people who really do care about these issues. Many people contribute in their own way - charity, volunteering, political action, the quiet love of a mind stilled in prayer and meditation. There are many shining faces, Father Seraphim. You give me hope. May this message give you hope. 🕯 Amen

Sadly this is a daily reality of our world. The tragedies of ordinary people that suffer and die on a daily basis. Whether it's children and innocent people, being bombed in Syria or Ukraine or people elsewhere.
Or people in lower places, like the coal miners or slaves that labor and are sorely tormented by their burdens. Lord have mercy and fill our hearts with love. God bless you for bringing this to our attention.

Dear Father, thank you for this. I too, have been heavily despondent, but not regarding this issue, but rather PRIDE month in the USA. It’s EVERYWHERE , I can’t go anywhere in my community without it being in my face. What really really gets me is how this movement has children in its grip, beautiful, spotless, innocent children. I can hardly bear coming to grips with the demonic nature of this. I don’t even want to reach out to God in prayer anymore regarding this, like what’s the point, I’ve prayed about this and things have only accelerated and gotten worse. Hopelessness is demonic, so I continue to repent, but I feel the hardening of my heart gripping me mercilessly, with no love towards others accepting or promoting all this.

The death of any human being is an unthinkable tragedy, regardless of whether they are rich o poor, but to be selective in a discriminatory way with one's choice of grief - that is demonic, not human. And we can all blame it on the media, but the media is only a reflection of our own passions. They pushed the submersible story because they knew this is the story we wanted to read; they ignored the other one because they knew we would not respond to it. I pya for you, please pray for us - may we find our way forward through repentance, my dear one.

    Dear Father,
Thankyou so much for this message. I don’t watch television or even get newspapers but I’m horrified to tell you that I was unaware of this tragedy, all week on You tube it was the drama of the five people lost which commanded the news outlets on You Tube , my prime source of news. Which even that I watch in a limited way in order to see what I am to pray for that day. So often I feel as you do Father….it oppresses me at times ….and I struggle to unite myself in Jesus interior sufferings which were far greater even than His physical sufferings ,so that I can incompetently offer it for the sake of His church for souls and nit least in reparation for my own sinfulness.

Father Bless, Thank you for reminding us of the importance of this, it is so hard not to be desensitized especially living on the south coast of England where there are almost daily deaths or rescues of migrants crossing the channel to the point it is not even reported most of the time. It is so easy to be desensitised to the suffering all around us and distracted by the shiny trinkets of this life, it is so important to be reminded that reality is a lot harder but that there is also things we can do both in prayer and practically within whatever situation we are in.

I have long felt that my heart has been made of stone, with not a single drop of blood running through me, with no love for God, Christ, others, myself... it is clear that I and many others are more interested in shining spectacles than the reality that 500 people died trying to escape a hell they did not create. Hello Fr. Seraphim, I watch majority of your videos. I’m a young 17-year old, that has unfortunately abandoned God. The way up is very difficult and trying to return to Him, seems so far away. I have such a stone heart and I’m in a severe state of indifference causing the lack of fear for Him. Indifference is so deadly and what you say is so true. I’m in a dangerous place spiritually and I have so so much pain. There have been so many moments where I feel like; what’s the point? I keep going because I know if I do stop, an eternity of hell awaits me where I’m so terrified about. Please pray for my wretched soul. I feel so lonely too. I want to change. So much I want to change, but I feel at a lost. Have mercy upon me. If you could say one prayer for my soul, I feel like I could perhaps get up. I need help. Please have mercy upon me.

Joana, Fear and being scared is of the evil one, the love of God would never want that for you. He loves you so completely, there are no words to describe ...
He's AWESOME and so are you !!!
The Word put on flesh .... gave up the whole of the Cosmos just for you !!
As if you were the ONLY one ...
He left all that, the rest of the sheep, just to find you,

Thank you, Father, for these words although they hit me with such accuracy. May God grant that the dead find peace, their loved ones find comfort, and the too many of us, of whom I am shamefully first, find the strength and discernment to repent and live out Matthew 25: 35-40 fully.

Lord have mercy ! and comfort those who survived. What excruciating anguish and pain. Lord forgive us all for our indifference and coldness of hearts that will pave our way to hell. We can blame the media or the west and we probably wouldn’t be wrong but May the lord lead us all to an individual repentance of heart so deep it would change us one by one and lead to collective change . May our Heavenly Father and the protector of orphans and widows hear their cry and comfort them. 🙏

Thank you, Father, for sharing this with us! For myself, I was never even aware of this happening, and neither was my wife, until seeing your video. I have to say though, that much of the blame really should be more on the media, for keeping this from us. Perhaps placing this kind of blame on the general populace of your followers for "not caring" might be a bit misplaced. I'm sure that if we had known, many of us would have seen the true horror in this situation and would have responded accordingly. But now that we have been made aware, hopefully many of us can respond accordingly, even if it is later than it should have been. At the very least, we can pray. Does anyone have any thoughts on some practical things we could also do, in response this horror?

Dear Father, we live in the information age and we are presented daily with a deluge of information from all over the world..... Our grandparents didn't have to deal with this. I'm not disagreeing with you but what about the neighbour down the street or the homeless person in our town..... Surely it's wiser generally to focus on those in our neighbourhood...... Our families first of all. God is wisdom and understanding.

Father, your words remind us to to look to our failings as brothers & sisters to one another. We fail to see as we're so brain washed & accepting of the media that feeds us & that we allow ourselves to be fed by it. How difficult it seems to be for us to comprehend the deaths of so many people and how easy we appear to mourn for the deaths of so few. As you said, if we repent, if we see how blind we have become, if we go to the door & knock, Christ is always waiting for us, always ready to accept us & accept our true repentance. We must continue our learning of how to love one another; something that we still seem to find difficult. My sorrow for all those how have died and the lives they will not live. Bless us all, for we have sinned. Amen, Amen, Amen.

Thank you so much for speaking about this Father. It needed to be said. I was thinking about this during that whole ordeal, how selective the narrative is in favoring one group of people over another. I really appreciate you speaking out. Bless you and everyone at the Mull and Iona Monasteries.

Father, I too am despondent as I witness the hordes of people attempting to cross the southern border of the USA from Mexico. The risk their lives and lose their lives migrating from many countries with nothing, and here I am paying for a storage unit full of things I do not need. I want you to know that you are a light in my life. I look forward to the Holy Spirit that that speaks through you. Thank you for continuing and fighting through the sadness, it helps me.

What a powerful truth you speak, what a clear mirror you hold up to us, if we dare to look. A sermon on the mount for 2023. Blessed are those who tear our hearts open with truth, that we see the pain of our brothers. Your gift of pain is welcome and I commend your words of courage. I accept your challenge… one tiny drop in a sea of dead bodies.

Dear Fr. Seraphim, they are heroes of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Rejoice for their souls, for they are with him in heaven. Do not have remorse for those who are alive with God, but for those who are here spiritually dead. Pray for us our dear Fr. Seraphim and may we all rejoice in Christ's mercy and love for all.
