My introduction to the Dansco deluxe books came when I bought a 1798 penny at my LCS and the shop owner gave me the book along with it. I've since added an 1839 "silly head" cent and am on the hunt for more large cents.
Awesome new additions/ upgrades, unfortunately I had to sell my Dansco type album last year, but I found another and starting fresh! Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed seeing your type album
I'm glad I watched this video when I did. My most recent standing liberty quarter pickup was a type I and can fill a hole in my type set. I never thought to check.
Love your videos! I just recently started collecting the constitutional silver! And happy to say i got my first barber quarter today from a local shop!!
I didn't go the route you did with trying to build my set without direct purchases. But I did want every mint mark and type of strike represented. Have at least one coin from P, S, D, CC, O, and W mints, and have business strike, proof, commemorative, special issue, and bullion.
Congrats for the Awesome milestone of 100K my friend. 😁 You deserve every single one of them (us). I enjoyed this video. Great upgrades & new beauties. 16:37 that's what she said 😂😂😂
Do you need a 1852,53 silver trimes 3 cent dimes I have a collection from a lot I bought I have about 20 of each year I'll give you both years but there holed but in xf conditions
13:00 If you move out a coin from the holder just break the plastic at one side. It is very thin plastic so it is easy to break There will be in danger from scratches from the staples. And above something like a towel there will be no danger when it falls. 100K+ Subscribers .. great!! .. now you on a roll. 22:24 If you only use the front slide the coin won't fall at the next page.
I enjoy both type and date sets. I dont have any actual type set albums but i try and keep every new type of coin (us and world) from before 1945 in binders. most of my albums are date albums because i found some 1940s whitmans and have a bunch of wheat and IHPs and buffalos and thought why not. My favorite one is my indian head penny album. aside from the 08 and 09S i have the last page and half of the second page full
@@Silverpicker You know how you can help me with that right??? :) Hey, by the way. Nice piece on the Coin Collecting merit badge! I'm a counselor for that and it will help me tremendously. My son's Eagle COH is on May 8th!
I’m currently trying to complete my set of 1oz silver Kookaburras, (not exactly a numismatic, but that silly bird will be the death of me) I’m getting close though, Only a handful left before I’m all caught up.
Brilliant video as usual! Imagine that! Even I, a lowly Swedish collecor have a coin you don't have :O I have no less than TWO Buffalo nickels 1913 variety one :) Found them both in loot boxes in excellent shape :D Would be willing to let one go *hint hint, nudge nudge * ;)
That Barber quarter looks cleaned. Shiny field with dirt around the lettering and rim is a sign of cleaning. SLQ may be somewhat questionable as well, but not as questionable as the Barber. Enjoy your videos. At least you know to wear gloves when pressing the coins down into the album with your thumb.
@@Silverpicker I completed my type set years ago. Mostly bought on eBay and coin shows. Many uncirculated from the late 1800s. Mostly higher grades before then. Was fun putting it together. One or two of them could have been cleaned. Some iffy color on my IHC example.
Wow it is just crazy to think you got all these pieces just by doing what you do. That is awesome. Also I just sent a message through the silver picker website about a Canadian type set I would like to make an exchange for. Please let me know if there is a better to contact about this @silverpicker
Quick question, why doesn't this book have older dimes? I know they made capped bust dimes before 1829 and I'm sure there was probably a version before capped bust
@@Silverpicker I’ve been looking into some albums today. Do you have any recommendations other than the 7070? Although I really do like all of the holes in the 7070. It’s hard to find and justify the price as a college kid lol
The half dollar wasn't the one cleaned - it's the 1861 quarter that have been cleaned, and I can promise you 100% that it will come back 'AU(maybe MS) Details - Improperly cleaned'.
@Baracka Flaka Flame what do you mean by poor coins I can only think of the grade that the coins are in if it is not that I have no idea what you are talking about poor coins.
@Baracka Flaka Flame well they are circulated face value coins that would just sit in a box not be seen for another 30 years until they are inharted down. Or I can look at thier buity for years to come I like the coin hobby. And I want to make a cool table.
Meh, I just checked my US Type book and counted 42 empty holes and only 35 filled ones. I've had it on the back burner for years, but I think I've regained interest in it lately. 26:11 When I placed my Mercury Dime, it was blast white stunning, a beautiful coin. Well, that was about 35 years ago. Of course, it's still a great coin, but it has toned in a way I don't really appreciate. And, since a replacement untoned coin won't break the bank, I'll probably do that. There are some coins I paid $40-50 dollars for back in the 1980s that you can't touch for less than $100 now. But then again, a bacon cheeseburger cost me $2.77 today...what was it in 1983?
@@Silverpicker Burger King. Their competitors have similarly priced bacon cheeseburgers. That's the current price. They were a little over $2 a year ago, before inflation hit. You know, I'm not talking about the massive daily calorie allowance $6+ burgers, right? I don't buy those. I prefer to have more than a rather disgusting single sandwich for my intake over the course of a day.
@@Silverpicker if lady liberty could jump off the coin she would tell the designer "do you realize what a crick on your neck looking backwards for 100+ years will make you have!" They are still cool coins, just not my most favorite design for that reason.

I picked up one at a garage sale for 5 bucks with some coins in it. Sooo happy
Wow that's amazing!
I bought some random coin for 3 bucks, and it was really worth 50. I didn't even know it was worth anything till I googled it

You can buy some on Ebay. In bad shape they're like 20 bucks. Readable ones will be at least 35
I usually will take a small push pin and pop the plastic around the edges of the coin in the flip. That avoids having to maneuver around the staples.
That's a good method too

I just got a 2 cent coin from 1864 and yours looks waaaay better. I’m jealous!
