The story that I know about the Disco dates to the early 1900s. It originated in the state of chihuahua in northern Mexico. The workers working on the fields sometimes had to travel long ways to work their lands and their food will get cold. So they figure a way to warm the food with the disco then they started cooking with it. There’s a very popular dish in chihuahua named "Discada” they sale it in every meet market, supermarkets and butcher shops and it’s amazing. They mix beef, pork, chopped hotdogs, a little bit of chorizo, chopped jalapeños, tomato and onions. Yummy

Tim, awesome channel my friend! I'm not so hung up on the definition of shackles (Glenn) and I could care less what a man's yard looks like (Chavez). But what I am hung up on is following your channel and trying my hand at disc cooking! I'm in Las Vegas, NV and I spend a lot of time in Socorro, NM. I always have my winter supply of chili when I'm home in Vegas and I'm always looking for ideas for the family. Keep it up my friend.

Hola Disco Dish-I just purchased my cookery on Thursday and have cooked 3 meals per your excellent instructions. NY strips w/ asparagus, eggs and hamburgers. I am cooking honey buttered salmon for my lady this Saturday night and follow up with breakfast burritos on Sunday A.M. Have you ever cooked a pie on the disco? That is my goal. Hints are appreciated my man!! Thank you!--

Those are U-bolts. Shackles are the flat straps that hang the springs to the vehicle frame.

How do you store your disco so that moisture doesn’t caused it to rust?

Hello there, I usually clean the disco when it is still hot or warm. I use course kosher salt and a big ball of foil to rub off the all the left over bits...I then wipe it down with a clean cloth. a small amount of oil of you disco looks "dry". I hang my discos in my garage. sometimes rust stills settles on it..no biggie just heat it up and reclean. thank for watching!
