As always, I find myself thinking about a particular problem i'm noticing recently, thinking of how best to tackle it, then you show up with the exact video I need breaking it all down perfectly. Thankyou for this! I'll be adding this into my regular workouts until I stabilise my larynx and get some consistency :)
I incorporate a few different approaches into my studies, but I always begin with your singing straw. From the exercises you use, I can see we come from the same “other” master/s lol 😂
I’ve seen a lot of these exercises be part of speech level singing. Am I correct in that assessment? Thank you so much for all that you some information.
Whitney is Beautiful but I fell in love with these videos hehe Boh Boh Boh Boh Boh Nah nah nah nah MUh MuhMuhMumMuhmuhMumMuh🤣🤣🤣🤣 Bet her kids really love her I mean I bet she is Freakenn SUPER MoMM! 💪😁 Very Playful 🦦
Could you do a video about troubleshooting with the straw? I'm getting better with it, but I feel like a lot of the time I find myself tensing my throat or pushing more with the straw than I have to just doing things like "mum, mums" or other exercises
Once I move to the straw I go to a neutral position - I'm not thinking too much about any vowel shape in particular, just letting the straw work its magic!
I realized that when say nah your Adam Apple tilt or raise up a little? Is that suppose to happen. While your doing the nah exercise is your Adam apple suppose to raise a little higher when reaching higher octave?
Yes that's exactly right! If you notice when you say "Buh" your larynx moves down. Different consonants and vowels affect the larynx in different ways and in this video we are exercising both sides of that. Movement in the larynx is healthy, just so long as it isn't strained or uncomfortable!

This made me smile!! So happy to have you here :)
That was so much fun! Alternating between "boh" and "nah" made the "mum" much easier. Brilliant! Thank you! :-)
You are so welcome! :)
thanks queen, you rock!
Back atcha!
Should we be puffing out cheeks with the straw?
I see that you are but I'm not 100% sure if it's necessary or not. Thank you!
Its a personal choice! Do what feels best for you :)

Do you mean helping with your speaking voice? The Singing / Straw is great for both singers and speakers!

i can't stop yawning during the boh exercise lmao

How do you did this on the straw? Did you say nah while doing it on the straw, or hum?

I love your videos but I find it a bit hard to follow along sometimes with all the talking and breaks in the middle of the exercises :(
Hi Juliette! Totally understand that. Have you checked out my "No Talking" exercises?
Yes and they’re terrific :) you should do more of these! :)
