For myself, who took kenpo for 15 years was practicing the DMs over and over that made Kenpo work. I had those DMs so down pat, I could do them in my sleep.
As a 30 plus year practitioner of Kenpo here is my question, "As soon as they have hands on you why wouldn't you trap the hand/arm so they can't recoil and rechamber and punch you?"
Thanks, another really good video . However lately I've modified it a bit, I've changed the contouring kick to a step or stomp to the calf down to the back of the ankle Achilles tendon.
Modify everything, I say. Take what GM Parker gave us and add our own insights, based on experience. That stomp sounds vicious. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Take care JVC
Nice. I love techniques from shoves; it is poetry of action/reaction. The law in some places may say excessive force, but a shove is often a test to see if you will fight back and a more violent attack follows it.
I heard that too. I can't remember his name, but he called it the pre-fight interview. That's a good name for it. Thanks for watching and for reaching out. Take care JVC

Kenpo drilling something over and over until its a part of you. Good stuff. Thanks for watching and for reaching out.

Great specificity on the downward direction of the leg kick. 👍
