Would have loved to have seen this show way back in 75, I was just an 18 year old pup.... Now (believe it or not) I save wild dogs. Saw Purple in 1973, 2nd to last ever concert with the Gillian Glover Blackmore et al line up... Miami was their last show. Tickets 12.50 per head... Blue Oyster cult, Savoy Brown and ZZ Top warmed us up.. Billy Preston had to cancel. Purple blew my mind at 16... and at least one eardrum.
Bolin's ability to play by ear across all genres of music is testament to his God given genius as opposed to the alleged virtuosos who practice 24/7. Tommy Bolin-The Ultimate.
Bolin could play virtually everything and while Blackmore has claimed he is into blues and often did blues pieces on record and live, Bolin easily implements blues techniques in all his improvisations and his guitar sound fits exactly in blues and jazz rock but at the same time he is very heavy on Love Child and Drifter.
@ I don't know what you mean by neoclassical because classical elements abound long before him in the 60's rock, Byrds' McGuinn etc. To my knowledge only Highway star and Burn have clear elements of classical music, which to Blackmore largely means Bach and Beethoven (sadly).
@@krasteff Bolin is totally clueless when it comes to what this song is about. With Purple I never saw him play a solo from the Blackmore era play even close to what Blackmore did with it and I don't mean that as a compliment. On his solo studiostuff he was ok, had a cool voice, but live he fucked up too many times, with that annoying Echoplex that he always used extensively. Lot's of folks, lot's of opinions, I know....
A shame we do not have images of Tommy singing the first part of Wild Dogs. A great Bolin song, as the jazz rock tune Homeward Strut, also played live by DP. on the same tour.
Mk 4 had the potential to achieve greatness. Fucking cocaine and heroin ruined what they had. 1980 Whitesnake is the band they would have been had Glenn been well and Tommy had survived. RIP Tommy & Jon.
What an ignorant thing to say. He enjoyed playing with purple but he had to deal with everybody comparing him to blackmore. Two totally different players. And both amazing.
Wild dogs one of my favourite songs of all time
I am still sad that Tommi Bolin died so early. He was such a great talent. Wild Dogs is one of my favorite songs he wrote.
The Mark IV is absolutely amazing, here it's on fire. Superb line up, as the previous one!
TOMMY BOLIN left us at a young age
Fucking brilliant God bless Tommy

Wild dogs , sublime titre , performance émouvante d’énergie
Clever mix of video clips into audio footage of a different moment
Coverdale muy joven y q fuerza !!!!
Glenn Hughes is fantastic
*RIP bolin and lord*

RIP Tommy & Jon.
Maybe yes, maybe not, DEEP PURPLE is always the first!!!
That shit rocks, man!!!
la mejor banda de rock del mundo
Con Gillan
I love Tommy and Coverdale ❤
Deep Purple 👍💯lat
Deep Purple super good luck. Jon Lord
Fire 🔥
A masterpiece!
не.
👍👍👍
😁😆😂🤣HAIR-metal before it was shaped commercially.
I bet bolin hated these guys. He did so much more after he left them.
What an ignorant thing to say. He enjoyed playing with purple but he had to deal with everybody comparing him to blackmore. Two totally different players. And both amazing.
Grande pezzi ok🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I saw them on this tour - they were tired and jaded. Probably explains why the studio audio has been used instead of the actual live version.
Q presencia fuerte la de Jon Lord
Tunel del tiempo
addict for whole life
We are not here to judge. Tommy deserves respect

без.
Tommy was too bluesy for Purple. He would be great on Rolling Stones along with Keith.
You are stupid
Yes he would have
funk purple
Fusion Purple, isso sim...
Joe md jazouy
Tommy was a terrific guitarist, but expecting him to play exactly the way Blackmore did was unrealistic.
Tony q pena 💔
Far too low for such good musicians
I hate Glen Hughes always trying to be the Super Star. Hey man your the Bass Player
Rubbish purple steeped in the blues He was probably just too good for them
Blackmore was the essence of Deep Purple. Bolin, not so much.
Tommy wasn’t trying to replace Blackmore. He carried much more talent
U
Such talent . 2 much ..smack in Tommy bolins ...arm ...momma son ..
