Very nice. I really want a simulator setup but can't really afford it now. I was stationed on a helicopter carrier in Vietman back in 1967. USS Valley Forge LPH-8. Saw a lot of action. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
You don't need to go that crazy. VR headsets have become more affordable and with the release of the 50 series of graphics cards you will probably be able to pick a 40 series cheaper. At best a few thousand dollars for the headset and PC (which is a little expensive but not as bad as it used to be).
3080 pc and a meta quest 3 headset you would be good to go in DCS world. Depends on your budget and graphics expectations though. Am using fairly cheap pc 3060ti oculus headset and still think its amazing.. 🤘😎👍
Wow just wow. I think flight sims are finally at the point where it’s almost as good as the real thing. If you can VR with a passenger next to you that would be awesome
@@vrambassadorNot anymore, man. You must not have tried VR recently with the current generation of headsets and a decent PC rig. It's pushing photo real and just like being there.
Hi Lau, please can you detail your weather settings - and how do manage with having to have the wind so high to generate the waves? I have always struggled with balancing these so it’s actually flyable even in a jet
If you don’t want the MFDs turning off you need to turn on APU and APU gen switch before going to ground. In the real aircraft staying without Gen power will cause a lot of issues.
I've got an RTX 4070ti with an older i7 10700F and 65gb of DDR4 RAM. Runs like a dream on a Quest 3. Have occasional very minor stutters on busy servers or over large cities, but still tolerable. Overall, extremely smooth, especially after some of the more recent DCS updates.
When did you try last? I doubt recently, or else your system is the problem. Or your attitude and expectations. DCS is almost photo real in VR on a decent rig, and runs great even on systems that aren't top end. I have a 4070ti, an older i7 10700F CPU, and 64gb of DDR4 RAM, and it runs like a childhood fantasy come true, especially after some of the more recent DCS updates this last year, and specifically the last major one in September or October. I'm using a Quest 3, and the graphics are mind blowing. Too bad you're not enjoying it, but don't give other people the idea it won't work for them.

VR is on my road map!
Underrated

You can and have been able to since DCS UH-1H
Or fly an Apache or Hind with a buddy manning the gunner's seat in front while also in VR. Amazing to see how far this tech has come.
Can you do a breakdown of the system required to run the VR set and game?
Good idea. I would also like to know.
me too :)
Nice video! How do you change your voice?
I'm guessing in rough seas like that, there would be swell motion on the deck, and it wouldn't be a very safe place to be standing out there.
Flat screen TH-cam vids can never truly do VR justice.
jep correct but mostly it looks more worse in vr than on the screen. more imersive yes but often jaggy and ugly in vr.

@@mco51193 i tried in december. Potato & Stuttery. I've a 3080TI. No chance to reach 72fps native with native resolution. Trough VDXR.

Can you share the mission i would like to try with the same lights and weather 🔥
One day I hope to get a Crystal to replace my Quest3
Not your standard carrier circuit . Given the wind, might have been best to plan that circuit better.
The worst part about VR is trying to show VR through a recording... unfortunately it's impossible.
What minimum video card can handle these type of graphics and VR?? Thanks.
I use 4050 laptop 32gb ddr5 and quest 3...smooth 😊

@@petesilvers5053 lol. never. i use a 3080TI and this SIM runs like crap, sorry.
@vrambassador ....I don't know why I bother replying to some people...never mind....have a great New year 👍🏻

i really don't know how to achieve a solid 72fps out of that sim. I gave up now after years. It looks absolut garbage in VR and stutters like hell.
