If you just use them like debit cards you can reap the benefits. The cash back cards are great its like getting paid to just use a particular card. I wouldn't have an annual fee card though.

Don't be afraid to exaggerate your income a little (No, you will not get in trouble for it!). I did this to get my Amex cards. Amex system likes to see good income. When I was making $45K I put down $80K and when I was making $65K I pushed it as much as $175K a year and made it to platinum :D

Sapphire and Amex Gold are fantastic cards.
Climbing the credit card tier is like climbing the drug tier. It's always fun at the beginning until you get caught in the cycle.
trick is to NEVER have a balance baybayyy! then it's alll gravy and you can do what it takes to get the best of the best cards.
What do you mean no balance? That hurts your credit utilization which in turn hurts your score.
