    Closing the card does not delete the history, it just wont age further. Accounts closed in good standing may stay on your credit report for up to 10 years, which generally helps your credit score.

    I like this video but I don’t agree with not closing a card if you don’t use it. A lot of people close accounts they aren’t using. It stays on a credit report for 10 years & continues to age despite being closed. It’s okay to close accounts. Don’t keep it open if you aren’t seeing any value in it.

    The belief that you should keep cards you don't need or want because of age is a fallacy because closed accounts stay on your credit report for ten years and continue to age. The only aspect this may hurt is your amount of available credit or utilization and this can be easily fixed by proper planning before closing.

    When using the 40% of the 10k.. does it damage your credit to only pay the minimum statement or should it be fully paid off monthly.

    • @queenrm007
      @queenrm007 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok so if your using 40% of your 10k credit line that will hurt your credit because that’s a high credit utilization. The lowers the better, 1%-20%. Paying the minimum payment WILL NOT further damage your credit. A minimum payment is better than no payment at all. If you want to carry a high balance on your cards get a charge card not a credit card. charge cards high balances don’t effect your credit score, just your payments.
