I think the field of biophysics exemplified by the work of Michael Levin at Tufts and the late Russian Peter Gariaev are crucial in the field of longevity. Biochemistry isn't enough, we have to look for deeper and more fundamental models.

This guy is wrong on just about everything he said. I was hoping for more of a criitique. he said things that were misleading or just not true. He said sometning about humans living to 1000 years old and that the person(s) saying this are no longer saying it like they used to years ago but he doesn't mention any names. We know this is referring to aubrey de Grey, who still *to this day* states that the first person to live to 1000 is alive today and this is because rejuvenations we may have in 15-20 years may perhaps allow enough more time for even better therapies to gain more time and so forth. He points to that life expectancy has only doubled in 100 years but fails to mention that we now have a framework on aging on how to repair damage thats been accumulated. The paper came out *over ten years ago* and Aubrey is now running a clinical trial with mice with known interventions to reverse damage in mice. If this bodes well, we may be close to having trials for therapies on humans. And this is just the tip of the ice berg. He refers to yamanaka factors but still puts them in a negative light saying that no one has yet to shows this in humans but doesnt talk abiut jeff bezos and his Altos Labs that has shinya yamanaka on their team. This guy is just wrong... really bad

"This guy" is a grounded and empirically-driven scientist, which is clearly more leg to stand on than you have, because your comments imply wishful wistful comic book extrapolations from a few cool headlines and no fundamental understanding of what it takes to make actual advancements happen--not to mention the underlying real-world limitations

What alternative universe is this guy living in? There is no "longevity revolution" in the United States. In fact American life expectancy has been *_DECLINING_* for the past several years, and that trend started before the pandemic.

He's speaking about the science, not the American lifestyle and cultural garbage that's ruining us all. The science is indeed getting very interesting and is coming to some potential for real extensions of lifespan
