I think I prefer the Zeiss 16-35. Even though it’s sharpness drops off from 28-35, at least it still has that extra focal length and it’s still very sharp from 16-28
@@OmaGhomrawi i'm still hasitant between the 2 but cause the zeis is only sharp until 28, and i wont miss 1 mm on wide end, i will go with tamron, internal zoom, lighzter, and ibis is accaptable in sony cameras

Thank you for the review! i like the f2.8 more than the extra focal length the Sony lens has. But i am using a a7 ii, should i expect same performance as we see with your a7 iii in your video? all reviews i see for this lens are on a7 iii, not sure if there are any incompatibility issues (i.e. lens corrections) or a7 ii is just outdated.
Sony a7 iii is my first Mirrorless camera. Never tried a7ii. However, I suppose it should perform the same in terms of sharpness, images quality, vignetting, Lens Flare and chromatic aberration. You might face slower autofocus cause a7 2 has slower autofocus.
@@OmaGhomrawi thank you, i get what you are saying and makes sense, optically the lens will work the same in both cameras. My concern was about the firmware the camera gets, i suppose every time a new lens is out, for the camera in order to support it (for the lens corrections features), it needs an updated firmware - this is my guess, pretty new to DSLRs. this is what i am trying to find out, but maybe my understanding is wrong. cheers!
If you do indoor real estate photography 16mm is too narrow and you should know that, your best option would be the sigma 14 24 f 2.8. And ofc if you have the budget you can go for the new Sony 12 24 f2.8 which is amazing lens.

( was travelling for a while so had to trim back on all the notifications.) Married life seems to be agreeing with you! All the best and keep up the good content and thanks. I am now sure that I want the Tamron 17-28 f2.8.
Chryseas S. My wife sometimes helps in making videos 😄 still new to this type of work but grateful someone is helping me out. I felt in love with Tamron. Most probably will keep it and sell Zeiss
@@OmaGhomrawi That is a good endorsement of the Tamron! My thoughts are that if the Zeiss is soft at the tele end that kind of shoots down the argument for getting it for the greater focal range . I have ( just gotten!) the amazing Sony 24 f1.4 but a wide angle zoom is nice for walk around, framing opportunities and going a bit wider will open up more creative possibilities. I already own the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 ( and love it) so the the 17-28 should complement it in terms of same look OOC, etc. and all three of those lenses would share the same filter size of 67mm. In terms of weight and weather sealing it makes sense for travelling and being by the sea. I am used to the reverse zoom /focus rings on the 28-75 so no overthinking that plus who needs to worry about scratching up a metal barrel? I appreciate the smaller, lighter form factor of the Tamron when it is in my backpack! I love the build of the 24 f1.4 GM but it was expensive and I would not want to carry the extra weight of a GM zoom! Finally, I really do enjoy the close up focus of the 28-75 and think I would miss it if I didn't have it on a wide angle zoom. As the 17-28 also has that ability, I think it is the clear winner for me! Nice to hear that your wife is helping you out and that you are spending some quality time together!! ( like Manny and Diana!)
@@OmaGhomrawi So far, I am impressed with it- the bokeh achieved at f1.4 is insane and it focuses fairly close. Wow, you can really get some interesting separation. I am in love with the de-clickable aperture ring ( best feature!) I would definitely say that it is worth the money.
Really good video. Im going to buy The Tamron for sure! At first i was thinking about The sony because of The focal lenght and oss but i dont actually se any difference between oss and tamron.. I also have The a7iii. Thanks for The video! 👍
thank you for the video! cant decide on which lens to choose for my trip to Japan im mostly worried about the focal length reach. I really like how u showed the full focal length as a video rather than just showing pictures. Alot of other reviewers just show pictures which is really hard to judge the total focal zoom
Thanks for the review. In the end, I chose the FE16-35 though, as I was not very confident in Tamron's colours (but that's more of a bias, I think). What surprised me is how close the FE16-35 is to the Batis 25f2.0 at 5.6 on my A7III, for instance. The Batis wins in extreme corners, of course, but I see no problem with the FE16-35. Maybe on a 42MP camera, though, the FE16-35 might become a bit more limiting. I guess it depends on what you want to shoot with.
Hi Oma...Excellent comparison! As a landscape and product STILLS X-T3 shooter (no video), I have been debating on selling my Fuji kit (reluctantly), and moving into FF, specifically the Sony a7Rlll OR the Nikon Z7. Since I shoot 99% tripod-mounted, neither IBIS nor video interests me. So, my question is, for large print output (around 24"x 36" prints), how much of an improvement in terms of image sharpness, detail rendition, dynamic range, base ISO performance, etc., would I see over the already excellent X-T3? Also, how sharp are the new NIkkor S lenses when compared to the known very sharp Sony Zeiss lenses such as the 16-35 f/4, 55 f/1.8, and especially the 90 f/2.8 G OSS Macro? (My Fujinon XF80 f/2.8 Macro is the sharpest lens I've used in 45 years of photography!) And finally, have you experienced a "sensor dust" issue on the Sony a7Rlll? Thanks!
Sensor dust still existed on all mirrorless cameras, you have to take care of your camera, change lenses quickly and clear the sensor every while with air blowe and swabs when dust sticks. Unfortunately I dont use Nikon or fuji
nice review, the reason there is no profile, is because it is actually done automatically. if you turn it off in camera you will see the difference. or if you take a photo and compare it to a screen grab from a video ( this should be still the case from when i tested when i got mine) thanks again for the video
If the Ziess was a 2.8 it would be a no brainer. But I think both are good, Tamron has the edge with extra sharpness, 1 stop brighter, better weather sealing, internal zoom, lightweight and it's cheaper too. The ziess can go to 35mm which more appealing than just 28mm... but you have to stop down to f/8 to get good qaulity.

How come the background blur is almost the same when their aputure is different?
Which part ? Indicat the timecode
8:30
Seems like 2.8 and 4.0 dont have much different in wide lens ? 🤔
ahh Because 35mm creates more depth of filed than 28mm. So in the case the 35mm f4 has more shallow depth of field than 28mm f2.8
If on widest focal length their background blur have noticeable different ?
