We loved DTNM. Prairie Dogs are just like gophers. They take over everything. We did the inner loop when we were there last year. Thanks for sharing your thoughts (serious and otherwise) on the trail. Wild sage....poor Deanna. HA! Good thing she puts up with you, Shane. Thanks for a great visit!
It is such a cool area! :) Oh yea, the "Prairie Dog" area was pretty intense just like the other national parks we visited where they were present haha. Funny little guys. We were hoping to go back and do the inner loop but timing never worked out unfortunately...and we got more hail lol. Haha, she still loves me surprisingly! :) Have a great week and weekend guys! - Shane
The Devils Tower someplace I've always wanted to visit so I had to checkout this video! All the talk about the alien death rays was making me laugh lol. Those dandelions were huge and I like the shot of you blowing on one of them. This trail looked amazing and I was thinking to myself I need some of this in my life right now. Thank you so much for sharing this adventure and giving me an idea of what it's like over there. Awesome video guys!
Oh man Eric, you would love it! Lol, had to have a little fun...even if it was true. Jk jk. Haha apparently they are a similar plant called salsify...but pretty much the same thing lol. Hope we get some hikes in together while we are down south in Arizona this winter! Thanks for watching as always! - Shane
Deanna won't be laughing about the aliens come abduction time! That is a massive dandelion! The views and trails there are amazing! The landscape is so varied which I really like. I've never heard of what it actually was! Hardened magma! Cool!
Agreed! Need to take this stuff more seriously! :) Apparently it is like a dandelion but a different plant altogether haha. From what a person commented in here and from some other things I have read online...maybe it is a petrified giant tree? Haha, who knows. Regardless of how and when it formed, it looks pretty sweet! Thanks for watching sir! - Shane
Gorgeous views! LOL the aliens shouting at Devil's Tower! Loved the music you used Shane, perfect for this location important to Native Americans. Hard to stop filming when you are in such a unique place. That is magical! I love the drive to get there when it looks like it is appearing out of nowhere. So glad you enjoyed it guys!
Haha definitely beware of the aliens! Thanks so much guys! This was a fun one to put together. :) Some videos I get to be a bit more...creative...in than others haha. Very true! I felt like every angle of this place had a unique perspective. It really did come out of nowhere! It actually kind of has a mystical eerie vibe when seeing it from a distance. Really doesn't look like it belongs at all haha. Have a great week and thanks for watching! - Shane
Devil's Tower looks so ominous from a distance..but very cool. I remember watching Close Encounters as a kid and didn't realize you can actually visit that thing and that it's real. Richard Dreyfuss made that model of it in his living room.🤣...Thats the part i remember most . Haha.
Lol it really is...and it is crazy you can see it for miles before arriving at the National Monument. It really sticks out compared to all the surrounding scenery. HAHA YUP! No clue where the military base was though...never did find it. :-P Hope you guys have an amazing weekend, enjoying the homestead videos! - Shane
@@DnSAdventures I couldn't believe it when I first saw them. Some of the seed heads were as big as the palm of my hand. The roots are edible, but I'm too chicken to try tasting one.
Sun Dance Mountain looked great in the distance and the Devils Tower National Monument was defiantly unique. Noticed you zoomed in a couple of times, you still using the GoPro? I also notice Deanna taking plenty of photos, does she never want to use any in your video? Great views all around, got to day and Devils Tower certainly was weird but cool, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching Alan! It was really nice! I didn't see any trails to go to the top unfortunately though...although I'm sure we could have snuck up there. :) Still using the GoPro usually shooting in 1080p, but use Premiere Pro to zoom in via the software. I might start shooting in 4k soon just to be able to zoom further without the fuzziness. :) I throw most (if not all) of her photos in the associated blog posts if you wanna check them out. She is really good! It was a weird structure for sure and looks out of place haha, but still fun! Have a good one sir - Shane
@@DnSAdventures - I tried 4K but even with my new PC there was a required 'plug in' that made it difficult, so for the last few videos, I have been filming in 2K at 60fps and real happy with the results. It does take a heck of a lot longer to upload to TH-cam and I imagine even longer upload time with 4K, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Ah good point! Yea, I've never even attempted shooting in a higher resolution yet haha, so sounds like there may be some challenges. Thanks for the heads up sir! I will experiment with some random footage around the campground to see what works the best. Have an awesome weekend! - Shane
Nice work! The tower is amazing, but tough to make an interesting video for 10 minutes on it like you did. Did the shorter loop, but the longer one has more diversity on it than I would have expected.
Thanks sir! Hope we get to some day hit up the shorter loop ourselves. The longer loop took us a bit more time than anticipated haha, so we ended up heading out after that. Hope you are having a great weekend! - Shane
It is not a volcano as the basalt columns are ALL hexagons. You might be able to get one maybe two that extrude in hexagon patterns but it would not be mathematically possible for them all to be hexagons. All plant life, however, exists in hexagonal patterns when viewed under a microscope and there are larger plants such as the sequoia which is large enough to be seen with the naked eye. Therefore Devils tower is a silicone based tree and all that remains is this basalt stump. Silicone life is possible and it has been speculated that what we call petrified wood (a process which cannot be recreated in a lab which calls it's authenticity into question) is actually in it's natural state the wood/tree was just silicone based as opposed to carbon. The evidence suggests this was a tree that, based on the size of the 'stump', would be about a mile tall. If you note the 'hill' around the base of the tower/stump you will notice a 'root swell' that is common at the base of large trees and this one is proportionate to it's size. The truth is out there, just don't believe their false oil company narrative that comes with an agenda of deception. Looks like it was a great trip, thanks for sharing! Peace
Cool! I honestly have no idea about it and haven't done any of my own research haha. I'll have to take a look into that, sounds very interesting. I bet that tree would have been a magnificent thing to look at! Thanks so much for watching and brushing up on the historical aspect for me! :) Have a good one - Shane
@Sylvain Daly blah blah blah, plants grow in hexagons, period end-of-story. Are you a agricultural consultant and understand the microscopic formation of plant molecules? Didn't think so, they are silicone based plant life. Don't believe the occultists and their narrative or they will torture you and drink the adrenochrome out of your blood. Good morning, it's a great day too learn WHERE YOU REALLY LIVE!!

@Sylvain Daly so I went on and looked at your TH-cam and you have not created ANYTHING. Did you look through MY research videos of plant trial experiments to increase yield while decreasing disease in plants? Have you ever done any kind of field research or experiments? No? Yet you still feel COMFORTABLE telling tthose who have how things REALLY work? Guess what,..... Your ignorance is showing.
Also look for other gigantic petrified tree stumps in what is now the Arizona desert. they are usually grouped like 3 together or so, the 1 large petrified stump was the parent and the other small stumps were the saplings !! there are good examples of this in old western movies. of coarse I cant prove this but I am convinced. The movie Avatar may have may have more truth to it than we think.
