The Sand Key is not good since they took out the small piers and after the hurricanes come through there, it’s been closed down. The beach is back open but the fishing spots are bad.
I worked at that Power plant. The weeds get caught up in the cooling system and they would hire us to remove truck loads. They pump the water in to cool the towers like a radiator in a truck. That water is so POLUTED, that if I got a drop on my finger. They had a special soap and scrub brush we had to wash with to our elbow to be safe and that was before the water cooled the system. They all talked about you people fishing in the polluted output have to be nuts and you would grow an extra arm or leg if you ate one fish from this water or your kids would be born with Deformities like the hills have eyes movie. Don't go here at any cost and never eat a fish from anywhere around here. It has toxic foam floating by also, don't play in it. IT IS A POWER PLANT!!!! HELLO!
Yep when we moved here we discovered quite quickly that our kids kept getting sick every time they’d go swim at the anclote beach. We’ve got friends that said the same thing. Don’t go anymore.
the real secrete is 3 am on the coldest night of the year. Ive caught trout down there over 24 inches and the permit are huge! big cobia, tarpon you name it
@@2fishyoutdoors Do you see the current coming through, it is all the pumped water. Its not natural for the current to always go in one direction that fast and every day.
Not to be disrespectful but half of the people are there because they see that spot on TH-cam
Absolutely correct......same thing happened at sand key in clearwater. The youtubers are shitting on great spots.....

This spot has been shit since before TH-cam. I fished there before there was a peir. The peir ruined this spot.
Growing up fishing this spot for over 40 years, I figured this would be a bluefish video. It's that time of year.

Pretty scary that workers comment?
I don’t see the cooling towers steaming much anymore. Who knows what’s being dumped into the waters but hopefully the EPA is on top of it. lol 😆

You have to muffle that pump noise. Very annoying? Have a nice holiday. 😊😊😊
Thanks for the feedback and I agree with you on the noisy pump. So stinking loud. 😆 stay fishy 👍🎣
