I never liked watching Disney animations as a kid. Though I was growing up in Asian, these Disney classics were all available and popular , but I remembered that as a kid I was mostly surrounded by stories that are either funny, or brilliant or educational. However, when it comes to Disney animations, I just could not find any of those three qualities , neither did I understand what their ’ catches ‘ were ( I guess they are suppose to be emotional for some viewers? Sadly I couldn’t be moved as a child because I had no ego or lust at that age ), on top of that I did not favour the art style.

10 minutes into this. I'm 61 and it's bizarre to me that the narrator finds these scenes so disturbing and wrong. You can't have an iron wall between the adult and children's world. Children like to watch exciting and scary things just like adults do. What really is disturbing, and sad, that we live in such a frightened, snowflake society that only the blandest, sanitized entertainment is allowed anymore, even to the point where companies go in an "rectify" their old films. I wonder if this is why so many young adults today seem so out of touch with reality.

Mulan is my all time favorite Disney movie. In fact, I'd say she's my one and only favorite Disney Princess although in technicality she's not a princess.
