That fire was the first thing I thought of and it’s comparison to this devastation from flooding. What a contrast in the two catastrophes. Both very tragic and heartbreaking to witness. My wife and I have come down to what we call OUR cabin in Severeville every year to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary since 2006 when our first Anniversary trip to the Caribbean got cancelled due to a hurricane. We fell in love with these mountains and this area right away and have considered it our 2nd home for the last 17 straight years. Still planning on coming down around the fourth of Oct. Not concerned at all with things being shut down while we're there, more concerned about the trip down and any little unexpected surprises during that part of the trip. They've done a great job over the years of being able to minimize the disruption to tourism that comes with these floods, something I'm willing to bet has been a frequent issue whenever there is any heavy rain in the area.
Dozens of humans dead, more missing, many homeless, businesses destroyed, people without power, food, water, or help - and you're worried about the d*#$ sea lion. You vote blue no matter who don't you? SMH

Our pleasure! We hope you have a wonderful anniversary trip!
Thank you so much for this video. We are planning a trip to the area in the middle of October and you have put our fears to rest. Prayers for victims of the storm. God bless you !
This was a blessing to see, we are coming next Monday for a family trip and have looked forward to this for several months ... I'm so glad I came across your video
Thank you! Great job you did in showing us how things look there after the storm! Take good care.
Thank you so much for your video. I'm praying for all who have been impacted by hurricane Helene. The devastation from this storm is so heartbreaking. God bless you, one and all.
First time watching your videos definitely won’t be my last great content and it was good to see the condition there I live just east of Atlanta Georgia and I can’t believe how bad we were hit either much worse than I’d have ever imagined
Thank you for your video!!! Making it real and not to scared people, but to informed them!!! God Bless You!!!
I was just here a few weeks ago. It's crazy to see the changes. I'm grateful that it is mostly ok. Thank you for sharing
Jim & I have been praying for all our friends & everyone in the area. Water can be so very devastating! 🙏
Thankfully it wasn't as bad as it could have been in this area. Neighboring Newport, TN is having a lot of trouble right now!
@@AdventureIsOutThere we seen how very bad Newport was. Floodwaters are so destructive. We have had bad flooding here on the Mississippi River. But flash flooding is nothing to mess around with. It’s wicked. Please stay safe & dry. 🙏
@@Vivianhome2holiday It can be destructive. I did swift-water rescue training as a firefighter/paramedic and learned to treat high volumes of moving water seriously!
@@AdventureIsOutThere I have so much respect for people like yourself that run towards the dangers such as this & other dangerous situations. Your bravery is irreproachable! Thank You! God Bless You & All Our First Responders!!! 💖🙏🇺🇸🙏💖

I appreciate the opportunity to travel all around with you today 9-29-Sunday! And to understand the challenges all around Gatlinburg! Here in Mooresville, NC we kept our power and our property stayed put! Our Church is Planning gathering items in need, on the Mountains! PBC at The Church Campus on Enochville Road ! Piedmont Baptist Church !! 7:00 tonight is Our first run then again at the end of the week!! We need each other, that is for sure!! Family Life Campus is where the action is!
oh my goodness by the Apple Barn that is really up. We love this spot so very much and the Apple Valley Comfort Inn. Like home away from home. Gatlinburg is such a wonderful place also so many great memories. So thankful to see that the damage so many are suffering today in other parts of the states like Asheville NC and area mostly spared Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. You do an excellent job of reporting and videoing. One of the best. Blessings to you and your family.
Thanks for the well done coverage of this storm.
I live in Kentucky our power was out for like 11 hours now its back on and trees were down and house damage Evan tho that was in Florida its winds hit all the way to Kentucky
raining hard off and on In middle Tennessee for the past 48 hours and still a steady rain as off 10:30 pm tonight. What a storm, my heart prays for Florida and all those affected.
What part of KY? I’m worried about my mountain cabin in SEKY.
Indiana too
The wind hit us in northeast Indiana. We had power outages here as well.
Our climate is changing. There’s no denying it anymore. A tropical storm in our area that came from the Gulf of Mexico is insane.
This was a very good video. Good to see places we went. Excellent commentary along the way. We were there in May 23 - its a long way from San Diego!
Here in Nashville, Minimal Flooding but FULL rivers (from what i've heard)
We got ours in May 2010.
Thanks Ryan for your updates. We will be in the area after next week. I surely do respect the people of southeastern Tennessee resilience.
Thank you for the continuous update. We have vacation plans for the day after Christmas to after the first of the year. We are surely looking forward to it.
Thanks for the video. We were just there 2 wks ago for the Rod Run. Walked the river walk- now under water. Great shots!
That sea lion enclosure made me sad. I hope that's not their only pool...
Dozens of humans dead, more missing, many homeless, businesses destroyed, people without power, food, water, or help - and you're worried about the d*#$ sea lion. You vote blue no matter who don't you? SMH
Same here. Sad.
As a child, we vacationed in Gatlinburg with our parents back in the mid-1960s. Our motel room was outside the Little Pidgeon River. We took a guided tour of a cave with little blind fish. Everyone was very friendly. Those are pleasant memories.
Thanks for the update. We'll be up there in a few days, so it's good to know we won't have too much trouble.
Thank you for my Sunday drive. I enjoyed the sight seeing
Thank you for all the info, planning to be there next weekend for a week.
Oh my goodness thank you! My parents are heading there from Texas so this will help so much to know what’s going on up there.
You make great videos.
Rare talent.
I've only lived in Knoxville for four years.
Your videos are extremely helpful.
Thank you
Have you planned a trip toward Asheville. Many dead with major devastation. So many people need help. Food, water, etc.
TFS! Excellent video. Our prayers are with the folks in E. TN & W. NC. 🙏🏻
Thanks Joanne!
I'm so glad you showed this, I was worried, even though we don't live there yet, I feel like I'm part of the community and I wasn't sure if you are used to dealing with this kind of weather. Prayers for all of those that were hit badly from this storm
We get flash flooding from time to time. Neighboring Newport, TN was hit really bad with flooding after a nearby dam broke. Thanks!
Does this area typically get rains from Hurricane seasons?
Great coverage thank you. We have rental cabins in PF and Seiverville and so far people are all still coming.. sending prayers to all effected.
I know what that’s like. I lost everything in Hurricane Irma. Be safe
Thank you for the excellent coverage!
Hopefully you kept Doug.. and sent him on a new adventure. I found his Facebook page. And posted your video to it. That’s awesome you came across him. My wife and I are hoping to see if you post another video of him going on his new adventure. 😁
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. THANK YOU from Arizona.
#7 on Trending!! I've been here since the beginning and usually a silent viewer. I think I've made one other comment since then, but I wanted to day CONGRATULATIONS!!
This video is extremely helpful. My family has a trip planned for fall break and this video really helped us to know what all is open and if we should still make the trip. Thank you so much!
My prayers are with everyone who is affected by Helene and the aftermath of the storm. Those who are affected by flooding.
So appreciative. Planning on visiting later next mth. So this video really calmed me. Checking in from OH
We will be there in a week for a vacation, cabin up in the mountains. Hopefully all of the sights will be open and functioning. Thanks for the update.
Ryan, it was good to get to shake your hand in Dollywood today. Thanks for all the informative videos.
Great coverage Ryan..😊
Thanks!
Thank you ❤
Yeah wears valley Townsend area i used to live im in Maryville TN now. About 30 minutes away from pigeon forge. I usually cut through wears valley to get there. Or old walland highway if I want to go through the mountains in the back road were my Papaw used to have his shine stills back in the day. There's still one on the mountain from decades ago. There's a natural spring that's been piped into then you can get good spring water driving down through old walland
Thank you so much! We will be there in a couple of weeks. I was worried about how it was gonna be
Thank you for the video. It was nice to see Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg again although the circumstances
WOW thank you so much for taking the time to tell us how we looked after this incredible Hurricane aftermath. It's people like you that I have a little place in Pigeon Forge and was worried to no end! OF COURSE THE SMOKY MOUNTAIN ATMOSPHERE MAKES IT THE BEST ENVIRONMENT ON THE EAST COAST! MY HEART BLEEDS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOST EVERYTHING elsewhere ! Rich in Daytona Beach we were Lucky also like you guys in Sevier County
Thank you for the video. We have a planned vacation the end of October. This information puts my mind at ease.
We are headed to Pigeon Forge in 2 weeks so thank you for showing us what it looks like!!
Our pleasure, hope you have a great time in 2 weeks!
So sad. I hope the people gather together to help one another.
Thanks for sharing. We are planning to be down in November. Devastation elsewhere. Though praying for those that are effected
My prayers go out to the people in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tennessee! I was glad to hear that Dolly Parton has donated a million dollars for the cleanup efforts but it's also going to take a lot of elbow grease and I know those people will cooperate with each other they're good solid American people bless their hearts!!
Thanks! Your video was perfect, as we are visiting the area in a few days.
Thank you for posting this! I have a trip scheduled and I was so scared
That same banjo player was in the Dollywood video on the JOLLY channel. 😂
Thank you for the update! We have a wedding down there next weekend!
It's a terrific video. Thank you
Thanks! Heading there in 3 weeks.
We were just down in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for a week from 9/7-9/14. It was beautiful. We were there between this storm and the one the week before we went. To see all these places that we visited is shocking. I feel for all of the local residents and businesses.
So glad you and your family were okay ✅ and God bless you
God bless all of y'all affected by this storm.
Thank you for the update!
Thank you so much for the update on the storm damage in pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area. We are planning a trip to that area 2 weeks from now and wondered if we should postpone until a later date. Thanks again!!!
Thank you for the update. We will be in the area in 2 weeks. Glad to know there was little damage caused by the hurricane.
Our pleasure! Hope you have a great time in 2 weeks!
Thanks Ryan for the updates.
Glad I saw this. Coming in next week for the Gatlinburg Craftsmen Fair.
Yes Thank you for the update. Coming up from Zephyerhills, Florida. ( just north of Tampa). We are so ready for our yearly dose of color.
It’s nice to hear someone tell us what is going on instead yelling dramatically at the camera like they do on the news.
Happy to share updates of where we live as we know so many people love this area!
Thanks for covering the flood. Just left pigeon Forge last Friday.
Omg !! We will certainly continue to pray for ye all !! We didn't have this much damage here in N.E.,GA, and it hit us first !?!?! Feel very fortunate 😢😢!! Our hearts go out to all great rescue crews and any those who help and to those who have lost all n loved ones !! 😢😢❤❤
Thank you for the update.
Thanks for update!
