Omg thank you so much for this video!!! I’ve been looking everywhere for fit bit sense sleep accuracy and you’re the only one who’s seriously reviewed this component of the sense!
I can't stand FitBit's price policy, made me return mine and get an Garmin Forerunner 745 instant. Great Review as always!

I also switched from Fitbit to 745 and it’s awesome for sports, fitness and understanding your training. Just really miss the sleep tracking and I find Fitbit’s app to be nicer. But otherwise super happy.
What a great channel! I love the detail grade of the tests you do for your reviews. I wish maufacturers would provide those stats, but that's not going to happen, and most other reviewers don't even have access to the equipment needed for this. So... keep up the good work! The world needs more of this!
I was searching for a fitbits comparison, this is perfect ! Thank you so much, if this chanel didn t exist someone should have create it (i m french sorry for the errors)
Very thorough research, I must say! All the data you present is highly relevant. Thanks for that! One question I have is: how accurate is the scientific EEG device? Would be nice if some company decided to manufacture a consumer type of EEG device. Although i'm not quite sure if it's really comfortable sleeping with it. A watch or ring is obviously better in that department I guess :)
I love ur content more than any tech channel it give in depth comparison and help us decide which product is really worth money we buy with ur channel should be paid not free cause what u provide no other youtube channel provide
Hi Rob, I know it's not your area of focus for your videos but it would be interesting to see some content exploring how to use data or results to inform behavior change. Even if it's personal experience account. If it's an area you would consider covering. Thanks for all your detailed comparisons!.
I'M SO HAPPY seeing my Fitbit Inspire 2 performs even better than the Sense !! 😍🔝 Some weeks ago I searched for 3/4 days which smartband to buy , then the light 🤩☀️: Your channel . Thanks to you I choosed the Inspire 2 . consider I was buying the Huawei or Honor or Mi! 🙈🙈 I knew really a little about deep sleep, light, REM etc. & smartband/smartwatches. It's many years I wanted to buy a tracker, but never bought it due to the lack of accuracy; 2021 has been the year, finally.😄✌🏼 Evidently also thanks to You. Thanks a lot 4 your work!! :)))
Thank you so much! It would be interesting to compare Fitbit Sense with Fitbit Versa 2 (it is currently in promotion in many websites), to see if and what they improved regarding sleep tracking.
As usual top class review ...u will be always standout reviewer when it's comes to fitness bands and smart watches..keep rocking....and one question fitbit charge 4 / huawei gt2e which one to choose... waiting
Nice job as always Rob! Since there is a wide variety of fitness trackers you review, someone should watch a lot of them to get a basic idea on why he/she should buy one coupled with the constraints of price, specific use etc. Would you consider doing some videos on best fitness tracker under 100, 200 euros or the best smartwatch/band for sleep tracking, for exercising, overall etc? It would be more concise and then the viewers can look for additional details in your other review videos. Nonetheless, keep up the good work!
From what I’ve seen from just the quantified scientist is that it’s the most accurate and cheapest option, i ended up buying the inspire 2 after his review a few months back, it comes with a whole year of free premium as well
@@birb4508 I have been using Inspire HR. If i remember correctly, HR and 2 have similar accuracies sleepwise (perhaps from the same reviewer as this video maker:) but Inspire 2 has added GPS and other features. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Wow! Thank you so much for such detailed and helpful information. I'm curious if you ever checked the oxygen level information on the Fitbit Sense. I'd be really interested in knowing how it works. I realize that they came out with a newer version and maybe both could be compared if that is something you're interested in. Thank you for your incredible work.
Just a thank you. I tried both a Fitbit Versa 3 & a Garmin 245 Music and was very unhappy with the HRM. The readings were just "nutty" (nonsense) sometimes. Particularly when weight training or in bright sunlight, but honestly poor when doing anything but sitting. I then watched your video's which mentioned both the apple watch & Fitbit Charge 4 as having good optical HRM. Being an android guy, I went with the Charge. Happy so far as the HRM, although laggy sometimes, has given sensible numbers. Icing on the cake was I got it for 68 USD during the amazon sale.
Garmin 245 has better HRM for sports. Period. That said I think FC4 has unique fit on my wrist - tight or loose, I almost never see led lights leak (means good fit) which is the case for bigger watches including Garmin 245.
@@nomoshiti "Garmin 245 has better HRM for sports. Period." I can belive that for traditional sports such as running & cycling which it is pitched at, but for what I do (surf, gym, gymnastic rings etc) it would consistently show a dropping heartrate and then just indicate --, meaning it had lost all pulse. I agree the FC4 ergonomics (size) are probably the reason it works better. Also form factor is much better for getting in and out of a wetsuit in winter.
Great vid once more. Thanks a lot! Hey, I was just thinking that, just as you did today with all the Fitbit devices, you could create a top ten at the end of each video with all the brands you've tested. I think Fitbit is taking the lead so far, followed by apple watch? Just saying...keep up with the god work! And thanks again. Pretty interesting!
I find that another limitation of my Fitbit Sense is that if I spend a long time in bed awake but still, it marks it as sleep, so it overestimate the time I sleep.
Can you make in the future a video of which device has the best "exportable" and private data? I'd like to buy a smartwatch/bracelet but don't want to send all my data to a cloud somewhere (where they will sell it)
did you look at the heart rate/respiration rate/ and other data to see why FitBit went wrong when it missed periods? is it sampling frequency? I compared my single sleep session with my fitbit and the sleep results were strongly correlated for that single instance... many years ago... great work!
Hey, please do a review of the mi watch revolve active. Xiaomi claims high accuracy on the basis that the algorithm are developed by First Motion. Let's verify. Thanks
For your future tests, will you please mention whether the sleep tracking mode is manual or automatic? It is a serious downside when you must remember to set what time you got in bed, when you went to sleep, etc., versus having a device that will detect on its own whether you've taken a nap or fallen asleep.
I was very interested in your beginning and end graph. It seems that the difference migrated over towards the right of your graph, over estimating, across the length of your trial. This Delta is fairly consistent per day, i.e. the shift to the right. Can you account for this please?
Just wanna ask if you can do sleep tracking test of fitbit versa 2? It is an overall "budget" device from fitbit and I like it much more than sense and versa 3 for its physical button and better fit on the hand.
Hi, what is an inexpensive watch, that you recommend for weight lifting and sled work. I would need the watch to display the heart rate from the polar h10 on the watch itself. If possible a watch that is rugged enough to withstand some dings. I don't you any outside running. I may occasionally bike on weekends, but nothing serious. My budget is between 200-300 USD. Thank you for your help.
Is there a way to wear and compare two EEG devices? At least for a few nights? Or am I really the only one who wonders if the two, ideally the same types of devices, would give us the same results, or how different would the results be? I know, it's a scientific device and I believe i's been calibrated as it (I guess) should be, but .. I can't help myself :D
Hi! Well, yes, you can, at lease some of them. None of these EEG devices is perfect, and the one I use is practical to use and pretty good. However, a full PSG setup would be even better. Even the manual scoring (calling the sleep stages manually) of the data is far from perfect. Trained scorers that score the same data will generally only agree ~85-90%. So, nothing is perfect, but some things are better than others ;-) . Good question!
If it can only track your sleep stages with 70% accuracy - can it really give you useful data to pin habits that are affecting your sleep quality, discover underlying sleeping issues or atleast go you a decent idea of how well you are sleeping throughout the week so you can know if maybe its sleep that is affecting your energy levels or alertness??
Gobsmacked we get this for free without alternative motives. We wouldn't blame you if you said yes for when one of these companies ask you to work for/with them. 🌟
Hi mate, have you considered testing the calorie counting accuracy. I recently purchased the fitbit charge 4, and despite how accurate it's supposed heartbeat measurement is, the calorie counting seems to be largely overestimated. Do you have any thoughts on this, and would you consider doing a test on it? Thanks
I came to your most recent video to make the question. For a person wating to track overall condition (not only sleep, or not only HR, or not only oxygen saturation or this and that separately) what would be your recommendation for the 2 overall devices? Note: I'm asking for 2 suggestoin because I imagine that the apple watch will be a top contender but one big limitation of the apple watch is that one also needs an apple phone - not my case.
Can you tell me what your overall best step tracker is? I stepped into the world of long distance walking recently and there are a million products out there. I’ve heard you say good things about the Honor 6 and the Xiaomi 6. Or is there something even more accurate that you would recommend?
All the best sleep trackers are by Fitbit. The ones you mention might be good (maybe even better) for heart rate accuracy while doing sports or in step counting, but in sleep tracking Fitbit is unbeatable.
