    Beautiful dog! I have a 1.5 year old male French Mastiff who is lovable and caring with human beings, he listens to basic commands around the household, just as you’re demonstrating here. My only issue atm is walking him around my neighborhood, he appears to be REACTIVE when he sees another dog a distance away, to the point where he almost overpowers me, it’s worrisome to me. He doesn’t bark, he lunges his whole body forward pulling at my leash, and fixated on this other dog. I can’t seem to control this situation. What is your Mastiff like? Have you experienced anything like this?

      Yes, but not with this particular dog or breed. You clearly know that it's a Reactivity issue. Try correcting with a bonker(a rolled cotton towel), if you're not using herm sprenger or an ecollar. The correction must be before he lunges or is already reacting. Exactly when your dog is loading when he first sees the other dog/s. Once he's in the zone reacting/lunging/barking it's late for correction. That must work. If you're unsure that you can control him when the other dogs are near, better to turn and move away the other direction. He'd probably be starting to load from a certain distance when he first sees the dog. Correct him there and turn the other way. Gradually decrease the distance over time between him and the other dogs. Most people would say you can treat train such cases, but that's a lie. An average dog owner can't. Let me know if you need any other advice..

      @@shauryachakraborty2204 That shouldn't be embarrassing. In fact a good trainer would encourage a dog to interact that way with other dogs. That's how they interact in nature. Face to face greetings are a NO NO.

    Sir can you suggest me diet plan for a female French 3 months old. Looking forward for your reply

    • @desi.dogfather
      @desi.dogfather  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, I'm not eligible to suggest a diet plan, because that's the job of a vet or a pet nutritionist. But I can share what I feed my dogs. And that's a really long list. In short, I feed them a variety of food, including raw meat, bones, organs, fish, home cooked(not made for human) food, fruits, veggies, (Supplements: homemade probiotics, natural/commercial omega 3, digestive enzymes) etc. Look for non/toxic foods for dogs in the internet.
      Lastly, the breed doesn't matter. They all originated from the Grey wolf(Canis lupus). Dietary requirements are more or less same for all breeds. Focus on exercising(walk, run, swim, Climb stairs, etc) your dog.

      He's fully crate trained by now. Crate pe hi rehta he during the training phase(without barking and whining) Jab hum train karte he yaa walk pe jaate he toh hi Bahar aata he. Start slow, see my other video on How to crate train a puppy. Dogs kisi bhhi age me nayi cheez sikh sakte he.

      @@desi.dogfather OK I will try.. And one more problem of my dog is whenever he see someone running he run to bite them and he follow my instructions only when I feed him treat otherwise he won't listen

    • @desi.dogfather
      @desi.dogfather  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A dog usually performs an action depending on the value. If a running man is more interesting to your dog than the treat you have in your pocket, he'll choose to go after the man/cat/squirrel etc. And everytime it's not possible to have a great value treat. That's where negative reinforcement comes in. Practice with him at home. Put your dog on a leash and make him Sit by your side, ask some of your family member to run in front of him. As soon as he tries to lunge at them, say No(in a flat voice, donot shout) and bonk him. For BONKING, see my video on How to stop puppy biting. Practice this first at home with zero Distraction, then maybe at your lawn or front yard, slowly doing it in high distractions. I'll try to make an explained video on this. Thanks.

    It seems to be a dog less Prisoner More.....to train a dog is good but to keep this beautiful ,Innocent creature in Cage is absolutely senseless No dog lover will do so only a breed lover and a professional can do so

      You probably have never had a dog, right? But I appreciate your concern for them. You can rather educate the owners who leave their dog for destroying the furnitures or other households, because those dogs weren't Crate TRAINED. BTW, there's a reason why it's called crate training.. Peace..

      I have a crate and a dog bed for my 7 month French mastiff . We first got him a crate when he was small, but he is now over growing from it; however, he likes it because it is consider his “security cave”. Nothing wrong with a cage. I used to use it when I need to put him in time out to know he did something wrong. Now he is trained and I can leave him alone a couple of hours in the house without putting him in there locked. Every time we come back home though, he usually is sitting in there.

      Aapko kisne keh diya ki pura din cage(crate) mein rakhte he? Aap apne dog ko kitna freedom de sakte he? Please post a video, I'll be interested to see how much you do for your dogs. Do you let your dog run free outside(watch my offleash video before commenting like an idi..) The limitations are necessary for the dog, taaki aap usko maximum freedom de sake.
      And, instead of commenting negative take some time to train your dog. So that he can run and sniff free(most important for a dog). I'm sure aap apne dog ko ghar par hi rakhte he. No proper walk and freedom.. Peace👍🏼
