Very nice bit of hedgecutting James and what an awesome machine for the job ours is tiny only 4-5 MTRS on a 1984 ford 7610 we have 2 small farms so we cut one farm each year so the birds have some food and shelter👍
Thanks Paul. I’m very spoilt I do have to say. Although I did cut the hedges with PA93 that was older than me until 3 years ago so I’ve not always had these luxury’s.
As you don't cut the hedge back hard ,it will keep getting bigger over time ,what is the plan for when they get really big ? I know in an ideal world we would lay the big hedges but in most cases that isn't really going to happen.
They aren’t getting any bigger as although I’m not hitting them hard, I am removing all the new growth so they stay the same height. In an ideal world if a hedge did get big I would lay it yes. I learnt to lay hedges as a teenager and would love to do a bit more. We planted some hedges on our stewardship scheme so hopefully I will be able to lay them in a few years time. 👍
