Well Done Ernie! I'm a building inspector transitioning to a construction inspector and man, there is a difference. especially in interpreting the rebar detail. Saludos from the great state of Texas...
im an architecture student, and they don't teach us all these details, thanks for this video - it helped!
I'm designing my own "small" home and your videos are a great help! thanks for the resources.
Thank you for posting this video. Your astute example showing 3" clearance around the cage is excellent information and right on time for me fellas. Cheers
Yes dear
Amazing tutorial video!! People I think surely having great time learning how to use Rebar properly. I enjoyed watching it.

This guy really knew his shit, you should do more with him. Interesting.
Very very nice orientation of a footing indeed ! Appreciate. Thanks.
Thanks for your informative video. waiting for more videos from Bangladesh.
Cool video thanks. Going to integrate rebar into some of my projects.
Thank you, that was an excellent video.
Thanks for sharing us this video. God bless IRsir
thank you sir really appreciate your videos..
i have doubt about development length, please can you clarify me on this..
hi, guys
thanks for your videos clib regarding construction buildind n specilzing by part. good for remembering for implenmening at sites, .hope more update and easily explain and understanding well. bey bey
How did you bend the rebars so perfectly was it done in factory or on job site looks amazing
From Solomon Islands, thanks for sharing
alot of you guys saying that the pit isnt deep enough here is something to consider. where i build we use use driven pilings and before we are permitted to build we musr drive a test pile and have it tested by the state. that is typical of homes built along the coast and the actual depth of the pile is determined by butt size as well as tonnage. that being said i single story structure isnt as heavy as the 4 story custom homes that we build so the footing doesnt have to be as deep. from what i can see that is a pretty wide footing for that column so the structures weight is displaced over a pretty large footprint. keep in mind that a state inspector is signing off on the footings so we can deduce that the depth is within engineer spec. of course alot of that has to do with the depth of the frost line as well as the makeup of the soil. looks to me like there is a bit of clay composition so that will be harder than regular top soil. just sayin.

I am from Bangladesh. Nice work.
One point of clarification this is isolated footer, not mat foundation. The rest of the video is awesome.
Smart and professional inspectors.
Sir, thank you for video .. very helpful .. I am Algerian we use french themes .. I have a question why you didn't separate the foundation from dirt ( using 5 to 10 cm of concret ) ??
it is very helpful please continue it
Thanks for the video guys..
Thank you, educating us.
Saludos desde Puerto Rico. Gracias a tus videos comencé ampliaciones a la casa. Now I have a question. I want to build stuctural colums but I want to do it as close as I can to the border line of the property of the house. I know when you build the fudation it has to be square, but can I do it in L shape form since if I do it square I will lose almost two feet of terrein
Excellent stuff, thanks :)
Thank you for sharing.
Great video guys
kindly upload step by step building construction tutorials to get complete knowledge ( including drawings ) , thanks
Man, am also in die help to fully know building step from drawing, setting out and all the process to finishing. If you have a bit knowledge to what am talking about, kindly share them to me
Saana Mossi yes i have
I'm a rod buster and the bars between the mats are called standies not space bars and also a tie is what you do to tie rebar together with
Very educational and helpful, congrats. Just two things i believe you should be clarify because i belivie that this video is educational to learn terminology. 1) on columns there no stirrup, only column tie. 2) stirrup are used on beams.
bundle of thanks for information
It's really helpful video....
There are two rings you have fastened, one is inner and another is sourounding all vertical bars.
Well done, but
What is the distance between two-pair rings vertical up?
Appreciated if you provide response thank you
Anyang Heli Techtronic Co., Ltd is a special manufacture of cold rolling mill for producing cold rolling ribbed rebar, also we can supply the reinforcing steel ball(cold rolling)
nice engineer sirr
Greeting from Cambodia
thank you for sharing usefull info
Hi, I have a clarification, one of the column has 4x16 dia rods and 2x12 dia rods are used. Now the column is poured for cement concrete and cured. Now plinth beam tie is finished and ready for pouring cement concrete. There was dimensional mismatch so now 4 rods in column are cut and another 4 bars are added in plinth level tie up. And then cement concrete is poured. Will the column be strong..if not what to do for reinforcement?
Consider the spacing and number of lateral ties from the top bars of the footing. It might be 6 @4 and 4 @ 6, and the rest will be the least dimension of the column based on ACI Code.
Hai.. thanks for this....salute
i learned something i learned that the inspector should know that both ties are considered stirrups or ties its just a name they use and those"supports between the two mats are called standees
Thanks again Earnie
VERY USEFUL !!!! THANX AMIGO
Hi sir, am learning a lot from u, I would like to have a chart with u regarding the skills u teaching here, how can I access that except TH-cam?
Shout out to Jim C. The Guru! CEL is the best!
Thanks....but there’s some observations , Like: 1- wooden wall around base must be done
2- plastic sheet should be under base
1&2 to prevent sands suck Cement mixing water or will be cracked
Use of plastic sheet is not really necessary here. Using coarse aggregates as coarse base would do the job

thank you info contruction nice
once again great video...thanks..
can you just explain how to place one grid of rebars layer over second one...??
You build both grids. Then on the bottom grid you equally space out "chairs" of rebar, the prints will tell you where to put them and how high. Then you add the other grid on top. Everything tied up ofcourse. And leveled.
You need to have at least 3" cover over the rebar. Does this help?
See here bro

You have any vids on grade beams and elevated beams
This is wonderful
In India, We may build 3 floor on this mention column Strength in many rural area . Generally 4 bars used in single floor.
That's a beautifull video
High ductility cold- rolled ribbed rebar
Yes dear
would you use that thick of a rebar/column for a 2 story 150 sqm house?
For a 2 storey building, would the rebars need to stop at floor one and some new ones continue from there, or can the rebar run straight from ground to 2nd floor?
They run straight
Nice work
Brazilian hugs. Tanks.
is it necessary to pour water in newly build pillars and concrete?
How many concrete footings should be placed on the slab on grade based on a 2000 foot frame home? THANKS
The depth of your foundation is less than 1.0 meter from the original ground level with respect to the width of your footing. Consider the soil bearing pressure.

Great, thanks!
Creo que deberías haberle dado mas profundidad

possible foundation and footing ...can place reinforced concrete pile before rconcrete footing.
Stirrups are only for stabilizing vertical bars of column? The distance between stirrups is veeeery high. Columns are designed for compression with bending moment. That reinforcement could buckle if the distance between stirrups is that much. There are other things to talk about your column, especially the design part.
YES THE STIRRUPS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSER AT THE BOTTOM PART
also...this isn't a mat foundation...
especially because the column is short, the stirrups should have been closer at the bottom (the shear force is higher)

Amazing❤
Good but what are those things that hold it up off the ground?
Beautiful.
Why is there no Blinding Cover? Are you immediately pouring a mat foundation without precautions on the chemical nature of the ground?
De nada. Thanks for your comment. Let me know if you need a vid
Good explanation
One question, why no use of DPM between column at ground? Here in New Zealand code dictates DPM to be present under building footings.
please tell me what is a DPM
Straight dirt around the footer? Thats new to me. Im in south texas btw.
Please show us estimation from footing to complete building with drawing
Appreciated.
Yes bro
Thank you for your comment Mohamed, I appreciate your comments and will make an additional video demonstrating the steps of preparing the soils prior to re bar.
Very nice video 👍👍👉🔔
Are you poring the column in with the slab somehow?
Is their a pc under the rc foundation
single building la residential building, shop, ofz, car parking 3rd floor la irrukura mathiri....athoda construction prosess panra vedio send pannuga frdz....
please upload something on tubular trusses please:)
The pad is poured first, and the form is built on top; galvanised bars should have been used if the column is to sit in soil
icc reinforce and aci 2 but what happen to form work?
Why the footing excavstion almost 3 ft deep only from nat ground line?
The matslab looks 1000 * 1000 mm, with 8 mm bars, the spacing between the two grids 150 mm. The column: eight 16 mm bars, ties and stirrups 6 mm. Clearance: 60 mm all round. Is that right?
If yes, could we not put well more than two floors on that?
Thanks a lot....
Plain cement concrete bedding is not provided at the bottom to pour the concrete.. Water from the concrete will be absorbed by Soil..Just making soil wet will not help.. :P

verry nice i like it
