Super excited to be unboxing my new M1 Pro 14 inch MacBook Pro! As soon as these MacBook Pros were announced I knew this would be a worthy upgrade to my 16 inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. I choose the 14 inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro in Silver, switching from space grey and upgraded the SSD to 1TB. Here we go! Can now lift the box open! Definitely a substantial and thicker box compared to previous years. The silver colour looks so good already. It is such a throwback to me, as this reminds of the older Retina and unibody MacBook Pros from the past. First impressions, definitely has some heft for it’s size, feels very solid and cold to the touch. Before we take a closer look, lets put the MacBook off to the side and see what else in included in the box. We see the all to familiar “designed by apple in California”. Inside this paper booklet we have a quick start guide. Interestingly this shows the larger 16” model. We get black Apple stickers! USB-C power adapter, this is the 67W version that comes with the M1 Pro spec, the M1 Max spec gets the larger 96W version. This is really cool. Not only is this a braided cable, which should be more durable, Apple has brought back MagSafe! This cable is 2m around 6.5 feet in length. Time to unwrap the Mac. The colour looks so good! Already I love this sharp more flat look. If you’ve seen my iPhone 13 videos, you will already know I prefer this more angled industrial look. I also like the bigger Apple logo, has this neat dark reflective polish. Flipping the Mac over, you can see how cold it is from my finger prints, we have this deposed MacBook Pro branding. Looking around the MacBook Pro, we see more of this sharper design. Much more in-line with Apple current design language, look at the iPad’s, iPhones, iMac’s, Pro Display XDR. Now onto one of the many features I already know I am going to love about this Mac and that are the ports! Especially happy to see the SD Card slot, HMDI is great too, we do still have 3 USB-C ports in total, as well as MagSafe and thankfully there’s a headphones jack. Let’s open it up! The first thing that stands out in this new keyboard design. Now featuring a matte black inlay. It sets itself apart from the older models and I especially like the contrast it creates with the silver aluminium. Also new this year is we no-longer have the touch bar. Apple have kept the best part of the touch bar, which is not the touch bar itself but rather the touch ID sensor on the right side. Looking at the display, we have very thin bezels with rounded corners at the top. On the top is where we also have the Notch. These new MacBook Pros have a 120 hz refresh rate. Meaning any animations and movement on the screen will be super smooth. I can already tell a difference just during the setup process. My experience with high refresh rate displays, once you get used to them, you can’t back!

Hello! Was there any particular reason on why you chose silver instead of space grey? I’m torn between these two colors and it’s been days but i still haven’t decided on the final color yet 😓 I wanted the space grey one but i heard it smudges easily and the paint will have discoloration a few years after using them. While the silver one might be more durable but i’m afraid the reflection on the palm area might distract my focus to the screen ☹
Hi Patricia, yes, I went back to silver, because space grey, after years of use tended to fade away in a few areas. This should not happen with silver which is more close to the material used (aluminium) I would not be concerned about the reflection.

I am also going to purchase the same model with 1 TB. And also silver - it is excellent! Are you not mistaken in the charging power? Do you have 96 watts by any chance?
Hi Nota, thanks for your comment - excellent choice :) I can confirm that the model I have comes with a 67W charger, though it is possible to get the larger 96W version for an additional $20 on Apple's website.
@@DionMedia Thanks for the answer! That is, you decided to make a configuration, changing only the capacity of the SSD in the basic version, right? And everything else in the basic version was left unchanged. If so, then it is very rational and reasonable!
