Glad you are meeting new hiking friends!
Saying “hey there she is” is a common thing to say where I come from, especially when you don’t know the person well and you might be looking for some loose way to greet the person as they approach. I would probably say that and I hope you wouldn’t think I’m a creep for saying it.
I'm the same way, just trying to be polite.
Not every guy is a creep. Now-a-days it seems like we can’t get a break. If we try to be friendly, we are suspected of “stalking”. Sheesh.
@@vanmiles6979 I’m a female and I agree not every guy is a creep. One guy threw his hands up and was like my bad, I’m sorry. I’m like uhh no you good!! I’m an introvert though so I’m not used to people talking lol
I would say something like that. I’m sure he was just being friendly.
I doubt he was keeping tabs on you. He probably said there was another person coming up the trail behind him, and then you showed up. He probably meant nothing more than you just arrived (behind him). Maybe the comment made you feel vulnerable. I get it hiking alone and all, but most people are Just being theirselves. You will feel better tomorrow.
Wonderful views today, Rissa 🙂 The encounter with the person who made you feel uncomfortable must have been unnerving, and honest of you to post your feelings. I see others have said he was no doubt being friendly but it’s how YOU felt that’s important and I hope you worked a way through it that so you could enjoy the rest of the day and great to see you ended with a smile with a shared camp. ❤Happy safe hiking, Rissa
I understand your concern or fear about camping alone. I only do section hikes and did my first solo in the fall 2023. My only fear was being alone at the campsite. One night, no one showed up until after 9 when I was already in my tent. Before he came, I realized I wasn't as afraid as I thought I'd be. Also, as a Christian, I'm sure you realize that you are never alone 😊
that was great news that you had some new friends to camp with.
I stayed at the Weser Bald shelter about three weeks ago and stayed in the shelter. We were fine, no noro. I recognized your spot you tented tho, we walked by it. It looked beautiful.
Yay! A happy ending! From what I've heard other hikers say, it will get easier to deal with what are still unfamiliar situations to you. Praying for you as you hike on toward Katahdin.
I was surprised by how much noise small birds make when they're walking around the forest floor.
As always. Thanks for your honesty. When you say “the NOC” do you mean the N. O. C. Nanatahala outdoor center). Good job camping alone. Most are nervous. Have fun.
I’m glad some “ new friends”. Camped in your tenting spot! God provides! You’ve got this!
Below is a link to the outdoor research sun gloves I used on the AT in 21. They should cure your blister problem!
Sun gloves are the best!
🎉 Love that you met some new friends!
A few different tramilys are always nice!!!! New friends, new people to meet!! Awesome time!
What a beautiful day! I section hiked NOC to Franklin a few years ago, so it's fun seeing that section of trail again in your videos. You're doing awesome, and I'm rooting for you to make it to Maine!
Good going! When you do camp alone, I think it's helpful to know that it weirds everybody out, the first time. I could barely sleep, and I heard an animal snapping twigs somewhere around. After that night, I decided not to worry about it and I would just put earplugs in! Very little will bother you, so best not to think about it 🙂
That looked like a great place to camp for the night. And yeah, I'd be worried being by myself as well.
What a wonderful end to the video! Thanks for sharing your journey, as always!
You are doing such a great job. Glad I found your channel. You got this.
I bet your stride is because of your discomfort and not the cause. Sounds like a pinched nerve somewhere. Could be hip or thigh. I had that. Good to hear you’re meeting people you enjoy and you didn’t have to camp alone.😊❤
I’m happy for you Rissa. Enjoy your journey.
Seeing the vegetation your vlogs are very old...I suspect most issues have resolved..❤
Tramilys just slow you down and add unnecessary drama. Hiking is not a team sport.
