Thankyou. I listened to these on the Australian ABC with my grandmother. Such happy memories. These early episodes are so much more fun and the humour is less sophisticated than the later ones compiled by Steve with John Amies. Whilst the later shows were as equally entertaining these early shows are gems.
I never thought Id hear this program again🤗 happy memories of my mother listening to this when I was 8 or 9, she always knew what the music was😅 Im enjoying this so much thank you😊 Im also quite surprised at the music I recognize now too!
I disagreed at first, but after more listening, I fully agree. Piano would have been much nicer. in fact, I find the mellotron to be a head-shaking choice. Still, I've never enjoyed any show of any kind more than this.

I love these episodes, but that Mellotron, whilst terribly new n all for its time, was ghastly! Why not just an acoustic piano I do not understand.
