At this point, I'm just convinced that CGB doesn't actually like Blake at all. He only keeps him around so that he can weekly humiliate him on the internet. Every week, it's the same story. Blake attempts to do something cool. CGB bullies the rest of the table into dealing with him, and then he proceeds to win "out of nowhere."
Blake is always right every episode CGB convince the table to hurt someone else the does the nastiest things on his following turn... When will they learn 😅
i wish i could do this.. in my friend group its always a 3v1, even when im not the threat (currently) because they just know ill pull something out of my ass if left unchecked :/ (and no, im not bringing huge power decks, its slightly modified precons, like maybe swapping 10 cards max, or a budget brew deck i came up with for less than $75)
That last turn I was pulling for Ben to pull a Force of Despair and gotcha CGB lol. Fun game to watch though. Love WPCS and the banter and contrasting playstyles. Great move putting it on the main channel, CGB and team 🙌.
Some sweet modern tech...with a torpor orb or doorkeeper thrull on the battlefield you get to CAST null drifter and shut off the etb to still draw the 2 cards but not have to sacrifice....bonus points if it's cast with arena of glory😁
Probably wouldn't have changed that much, but the Dovehawk populated tokens were summoning sick. Nice and fun game, although it felt like the deal was sealed early on and even while ahead on every metric, the winner faced almost no aggression or resistance.
Loved the game! Absolute blast to watch. Would be really nice if the ending was panned out so you could see the whole table say “You’re cool.” Feels bad to have the others excluded.
I have a buddy that always picks what I would say are very strong commanders then casually builds the deck strong and then throughout the game tells everyone it isn’t that strong. That is Niko - but I wanted to see it get played and it bonked once you let a handful of creatures land on the board untouched.
best thing ive copied with niko is ancient gold dragon, also i like the silent hallcreeper too because the shards dont retain the info of what has been chosen when you make them into copies of silent hallcreeper on a future turn, and they do retain the counters so they can just become big unblockable creatures
You could also say Ben smashed Nissa...with a hammer, I mean! For a game this intense I'm surprised that it's only 40 minutes long. New cards good cards
I love the new Niko as a commander. I need to get a copy of Overlord of the Mistmoors and Nulldrifter. Right now my finishers are Nesting Dovehawk, Angel of Invention and Silverhawk Squadron. I also run 6 clones so I can make a copy of the strongest creature on the board and then make all my shards a copies of that too.
I have had the misfortune to be on the wrong end of Shard nonsense. Niko is insanely good, and Dovehawk gets out of hand really fast (I run it in my Ghired deck). Fun game despite all that.
Sort of a MTG noob here. at 36:20 when CGB creates the tokens. Why does all the tokens also get all the counters? Shouldn't the tokens have 2,1 and 0 counters respectivly? Or do they all enter at the exact same time and see eachother be created at the exact same time?
They don't resolve simultaneously. Each dovehawk copy triggers and goes the stack. The triggers are then resolved 1 at a time. Each dove hawk entering triggers the dovehawks currently in play. So yes the tokens should have had 3 counters, 2 counters, and 1 counter.
Kardur literally says that those creatures have to attack a player, you can not attack a planeswalker if there is an opponent to attack that doesn't have some tax effect required to attack.....
@atk9989 Kardur isn't technically goad. But regardless, in the case of both goad AND Kardur, planeswalkers are not included. Kardur means you must attack a player if possible, not a planeswalker (or battle).
How is it that CGB is the problem and the solution? Fun game, crazy how the cards don’t always come up when you need them - lack of counters and board wipes lead to an easy victory sometimes, but that’s what happens in 100 card singleton formats!
Some streamer playgroups intentionally run less interaction so that the game is is always moving forward, instead of resetting the board every few turns which can make the game drag. Or, they just didn't draw into it, because, you know, variance
I wouldn’t say shards are just strictly better clues. Many people forget the value of clues being artifacts. Enchantments have value too but artifact decks have always outperformed enchantments so it’s a different kind of clue, not necessarily better
i think he was saying it cuz shards you get to scry 1 before you draw.. clues you just draw for the same mana cost.. in that regard it is strictly better
@@tears_of_asariel3198 yes but because they aren’t artifacts they don’t have any synergies with artifact cards that care about amount of artifacts or using mechanics like affinity or improvise. Enchantments have certain mechanics too but they are generally worse than artifact decks.
@@Grebolexa yes, artifacts are good in artifact decks? whats your point? if you are comparing 2 cards, you compare them as is, for exactly what they are, OR for a specific interaction they have in a deck shell.. so first way, comparing them flat out, a shard is strictly better, as its pay 2 and draw, or pay 2 and scry then draw.. if you are comparing it for a shell, just being +1 artifact, or +1 enchantment is equal.. thats like saying elves are the best tribal.. but ive blown elf decks out of the water with vampires, zombies, humans, hell even lizards.. so that point is null.. then for the last thing, trying to count the types of decks that can utilize it, they both can go in token decks, draw effects decks, sacrifice decks, and artifact/enchantment decks.. but shards can also go in scry decks and serve a viable purpose better than a clue.. so again, the comment stands, shards are strictly better clues... are there instances where you would rather have a clue than a shard? absolutely.. but there are instances where i would rather have a 1/2 creature instead of a 2/2 creature too, but a 2/2 is still strictly better than a 1/2
@@tears_of_asariel3198 my point is that artifact decks have outperformed enchantment decks for as long as I can remember. Shards scrying is good but in the context of which is better to build around, clues have way more support. There isn’t as much enchantment support and shards being new means there’s very few ways to make them and even fewer cards that care about shards. In a vacuum, yes shards do more than clues on their own but you need to look at it in the context of deck building and utility within their respective decks. Shards can’t synergize with artifact cards and enchantment cards that care about the amount of enchantments you have aren’t as impactful as artifact cards. Clues have been around for ages which means there’s a lot of cards that care about them and even more that care about artifact synergy. Shards can’t pay for improvise spells or affinity for artifacts. Cards that care about scry are also pretty rare. I’m not saying shards are bad but I can’t understate how impactful it is that clues are artifacts.
From what i can tell with kardurs goad trigger, you cant attack a planeswalker with any of the creatures unless all other players are eliminated already, or have some kind of tax effect that prevent you from attacking a different opponent. So i dont think they couldve attacked a planeswalker unless its down to 1v1 with the trigger in effect.
i think your 'on staff looker upper of things that also pose as judges' did an oopsie and looked up the wrong info.. or at least didnt look up ALL the correct info.. i think they seen: "If a creature affected by Kardur's ability could legally attack multiple players and/or planeswalkers, its controller chooses who it attacks.(2021-02-05)" and then stopped looking.. but theres a keyword in there that they bypassed.. *Legally*.. because if you check another rule... Unfortunately, you can't attack Nissa when Kardur's ability is in effect. From Propaganda's rulings: "Unless some effect explicitly says otherwise, a creature that can’t attack you can still attack a planeswalker you control." This is to point out that people can still attack your planeswalkers without paying the 2. This means attacking a planeswalker you control isn't the same as attacking you. If it included planeswalkers, it would say "must attack a player other than you or a planeswalker you don't control if able," similar to how Archangel of Tithes specifically includes them.
Halfway through the episode and cgb gets away with making someone else the problem when it's always him.
What do you expect him to do?? Of course he will try to deflect the attention, why would he tell the group that he is the problem??
I expect the rest of the table to leave removal up for him. Yeah Blake has X but it's cgb. Dudes earned it.
The problem is his manipulating Shea into using her removal to fix his problem of Blake's board. This cleared him to then explode his own board state.
And manipulating ben into swingiinto his planeswalkers...@@robertelliott4272

They won't learn it's his show on his channel. They exist solely to stroke CGBs ego.
Absolutely floored there were no counters that whole game and only 1 board wipe early on 😂
It's wild how that happens some games.

What a sweet winning turn! This game was awesome to watch.
0:45 this double-double-facepalm from Shea and Blake was so perfect.
I'm so glad my friend showed me you on cimo. Love this game.
I will never understand why CGB is allowed to live. (in Magic)
Or out
Nice seeing split up getting. Love me a versatile boardwipe
How to play commander? Just punch CGB. Then you may play peacefully.
Still remaining at the top of the commander world, best EDH gameplay show out there, no question!

Someone needs to show Blake the new Extra turns episode. There may or may not be a millennium calander involved ❤

I got the Secret Lair for Chucky and now I am aching to play that little demonic toy at my next EDH game.
Honestly, when will you learn? XD CGB playing blink and you don't immediately make him the target?!
Good game guys.
Great game!!
It would be awesome to be in one of these games. I think I'd be able to give CGB a run for his money.
I've been brewing niko so hard CGB don't let me down!
As a idea for WPCS - Lands Vs Skies - 2 players on lands and 2 on Skies commanders
17:17 Shea face XD
There’s a special place in hell for people who attack with annihilator creatures.
The one thing I miss in these kind of games is removal. Preferably in huge quantities, usually pointed at CBG's board.
Love u cgb, pls keep in mind all the supporters on top of the toxic people over-analyzing u.

the song at around 12:20 was a little loud, was hard to tell what Ben was saying 😅
love the show/episode otherwise though!
Ben should play Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos.
nice one!
Who would have ever thought Captain Mesa Falcon would win with birds
I thought the goad deck was goated, but I blinked and I missed the ending.
Who knew Grave Titan with flying tokens was good? :p
When will we get Rarran in these commander vids?
Soon.
Eww no
I was hoping Shea was gonna drop a Rakdos Charm at the end
37:28 - Imagine doubting that the Mesa Falcon Guy would win with birds
I wish you had more paper content.
He might have made a lot of birds but can they get +0/1 until the end of turn?

It all resolves simultaneously meaning the last part of your question is the answer.
You're right benneboi, each dovehawk created a populate trigger which will resolve separately. It didn't change anything though.
They don't resolve simultaneously. Each dovehawk copy triggers and goes the stack. The triggers are then resolved 1 at a time. Each dove hawk entering triggers the dovehawks currently in play. So yes the tokens should have had 3 counters, 2 counters, and 1 counter.
